There was a bright sun in the sky almost without a single cloud, but due to the huge amount of vegetation it was almost impossible to see it.
And in a small clearing, which did not seem to be affected by the general mood of the jungle, three wizards appeared. "This is one of the entrances, and if you go in a straight line, you can definitely stumble upon that flower." Lifting his green hat slightly, the man stared nostalgically at the impenetrable thickets ahead.
"Amazing…" Feeling genuine astonishment, Snape couldn't just look away from the huge barrier surrounding a certain part of the jungle. 'And this was done by wizards from the past… this is definitely the work of the "Archmage" and not just one, because even hundreds of "Masters" cannot create such a stable and at the same time powerful barrier. Apparently, I lowered the level of wizards in this world too much …'
"I was also very surprised when I first saw this barrier …" Fred said from the side.
"And who created it?"
"It is unknown, although there are many theories: from the one that the gods themselves created them in order to protect humanity from those creatures that are inside, to the one that this was the work of wizards from the past, who were much stronger than our generation. But there is no mention of him in the books, so this is still a theory," the man replied calmly, looking at Snape with a smile, who only silently nodded and turned to him. "I see, Mr. Brew, I thank you for your help," a bag appeared in the hand of the wizard, which he handed to the writer.
"You don't need to, you've already given me more than enou..." but the Prince did not let him finish, thrusting the bag into his hands. "I know about your problems at home, and you helped me a lot by sharing all this information, and if you try to return them to me, then I will destroy the galleons."
"Mr. Snape..." Even though the words of "boy" sounded rude, Fred was touched by them. "Thank you …"
In response, the young man smiled at him, and then looked in the direction of the nervous Jose, who simply could not find a place for himself. Snape even caught him in the morning, praying at the icon for a safe return back. "You will stay here until I return."
"A…? R-really?!" Jumping up to him, the man grabbed Snape by the hands and stared at him with puppy eyes, as if not believing what he heard.
"Yes, I didn't plan to take you with me from the very beginning," Severus added calmly, freeing his hands.
"Thank you Mr. Snape! Thank you Thank you Thank you" Snorting, the young man turned away and turned his gaze back to the barrier and without saying anything more the Slytherin passed through the barrier and his figure disappeared.
"I wish you could find what you were looking for and be able to safely return back unharmed," the writer muttered sincerely, folding his hands together and closing his eyes.
"He won't die so easily," Jose grumbled with displeasure, who, after the departure of the "master", regained his former temper.
"Let's get out of here, I'm going to get drunk when we get back, for all the exhausted nerves," he added with a smirk, already cheerful, smacking his lips rather, as if savouring the future taste of alcohol.
Fred looked at the man with a strange look, but was not very surprised by the abrupt change in character, because it took him even an evening to understand what this wizard really was, and he didn't really like him as a person.
Therefore, he only silently nodded to him and apparated from the jungle, leaving the shadow wizard alone.
"What a bore." looking contemptuously at the place where Fred had previously stood, the dark wizard was also going to apparate directly to a bar, and as soon as he waved his wand, then in the next moment some force bound his body. "What is this?! Why can't I move?! What the hell?!"
"You will stay here until I return," Snape's calm voice sounded in his head. And after that, Jose again felt that he could move, but his former joy disappeared, and despair came in its place.
After all, it was not known when Snape would return back and whether he would stay there for a couple of days.
"Crap! Crap! Crap! Bastard! How could you?! I'll kill you…!"" and after these words, the sky was suddenly covered with clouds, but he did not pay much attention to this, continuing to cover his "master" with obscenities, until he heard a roll of thunder and looked up at the sky. His face turned white sharply, and in the next moment, lightning broke from the dark clouds rushing straight in his direction. "Nooooo…!!!"
~~~~~~~
At the same time, the Prince, calmly moving through the jungle, indifferently looked at the dark clouds shining through the dense foliage. "Idiot."
"What's happened?"
"Nothing, I just remembered one fool," waving his hand languidly, he looked down at a tree with strange fruits, very similar to apples, from which a very pleasant aroma emanated.
"It's an interesting place, although it doesn't differ much from the usual jungle, but the magical background here is the same as on the territory of Hogwarts," Snape's gaze caught on a spider moving along a branch, which outwardly looked completely ordinary, except for the size of a football ball and green paws, which directly shouted that it was better not to touch it.
"Sir…" Nellie nervously pointed to a small mushroom whose hat had a red v-shaped pattern. "Well done," stroking the happy house elf on the top of her head, he approached the fruit tree and, bending down, reached for it.
At that moment, spiders "fell down" from the tree, but they were much smaller than the last one, and the poison was much weaker, but if they all bite one person, then even the most poison-resistant wizard will lose his life.
"A spider tree, or a sweet trap, as Mr. Brew called it, that's just…" in the next moment, a cocoon of flame surrounded the wizard's body, and then a plaintive squeak was heard, and a nasty burning smell wafted through the forest.
"Their weakness is fire, they shy away from it like the plague," he added calmly, watching the excited spiders, terrified climbing back into the tree and hiding in the foliage, while not forgetting to cut the mushroom. "And the fruits themselves are completely useless. Although they have a pleasant smell with taste, but they cause weakness, indigestion and diarrhoea….Nellie."
"Yes, mister?"
"Get a couple dozen of these"
"You are behaving like a child," Nagini immediately realised to whom he was going to feed them, while cautiously looking at the big spider, which, unlike the others, did not run away, but calmly watched them.
Noticing the look of his companion, the young man smiled and, taking out a small jar of honey, opened it and threw it to the spider.
The spider, in turn, released the web and quickly pulled the jar to himself, and then, turning around, crawled up the tree.
"This is the spider queen of the spider tree, and if you want to collect the fruits from it so as not to be attacked, you can bribe her with honey, and then she will retreat," and then he looked at Nellie, who quickly gathered a whole box of fruits. "Okay, let's move on." Referring to the map he memorized, they moved on.
But they did not have time to go even thirty meters, when their way was blocked by a dozen or more monsters the size of a car. They were huge lizards with dark scales and a mouth full of razor-sharp teeth. "We are not very lucky, we immediately stumbled upon them, while choosing the safest path," a long sword in a dark scabbard appeared on the wizard's belt. "Although if you remember that the favourite food of these lizards is those same spiders, and I just recently fried a couple of hundred, then ..." a rustle was heard from the right, and after a few seconds, snakes as thick as an adult man's arm and even more crawled out of the bushes, "....Snakes."
"You don't have to worry about snakes, " Nagini crawled out from under the mantle and narrowing her eyes, stared at them, and the reptiles immediately froze as if rooted to the spot at the sight of her. "Get out of here."
And a "miracle" happened, after her "shout" the snakes quickly turned around and began to crawl away, even the lizards in front froze, not daring to go forward, because their instincts told them that they had a terrible enemy in front of them.
"And how long have you been doing this?" he asked the snake with a smile, which proudly turned up its "nose".
"When we were at the zoo and passed by the aviary with snakes, I looked into the eyes of one of them and said to go back to the house, and she quickly did what I said, hiding in the booth. And then I experimented when you were not at home, with which Nellie helped me, and I realized that I can control snakes!"
"The fear of a creature that is close in appearance to the king of all snakes plays a role here," the wizard suggested, looking at the lizards, who also decided to retreat and not engage in a senseless battle. ' With her, at least most of the jungle creatures are not a problem, that's for the best, and it's not worth using fire magic anymore. It was worth guessing that such a thing could attract other living creatures, this is not child's play, one cannot be so careless. Although this world is weak in terms of magic, I don't have the same strength as before,' stroking the top of her head, Snape looked ahead. "Good girl, let's continue on our way then. I think by morning we should be able to cross the outer part of the "Magic Jungle" " he decided to leave the sword on his waist, because it is not known what might await them next.
And, increasing his perception, he continued on his way, while trying to avoid monsters and not forgetting about herbs. The latter was mainly handled by Nellie, who memorised about them from all the books at Snape's disposal.
Of course, they were not limited to only them, some monsters also became their ingredients. The poison of snakes and spiders, the blood of black crocodiles, the teeth of lizards and much more were very good ingredients for potions.
But, what was rather strange, was that they did not see a single person for the entire journey, although, according to Fred, one could easily meet many hunters for ingredients in a day, and this fact alerted Snape, so he became more careful.
And when it was already getting dark, Snape decided to change the plan: make a halt and wait for the morning. According to his calculations…..
