Half for Each

Long Sijue was genuinely hungry. Like Su Qianxun, he had not eaten since she was admitted to the hospital.

He saw a halved sunny side egg in his bowl, then he looked up at her. Su Qianxun quickly said, "There's only one egg left, so there's half for each of us."

Then, as though the young woman was afraid that Long Sijue would also take her portion, she quickly picked up half of the egg in the bowl and put it into her mouth. 

Long Sijue noticed that she was extremely hungry. He could not help but smile slightly. He lowered his head and ate his half of the egg, which seemed to taste better than any egg he had ever eaten. 

As soon as they finished their noodles, Su Qianxun cleaned the table and put away the dirty bowls. When she returned, Long Sijue was already back in bed. His eyes were shut tight. 

Su Qianxun went up to the bed and reached over to touch his forehead. It was awfully hot. The young woman furrowed her brows without realizing it.
