Demise

The humanoid thing was standing there, wearing a bright white glowing gown and silver shining armor, and staring down at Rex's motionless body. Sean and John, perplexed, and enamored; stood there staring at the creature in front of them. Thoughts running through their minds. Attempting to figure out what to do next, but their brains left empty handed. They just could not think of a way to react.

The creature looked up to John, a smile grew upon his smirk model like face.

"So the rumors were true! I see you still have no idea what's going on and who I am."

His voice echoed as he said this John's way. John stood there, still gathering what his next step was going to be. Time started to elapse, the humanoid looked back down to Rex and said.

"I can't believe you're still siding with these humans, after all these years."

Sean, standing next to John, started to slowly back step. Hoping that he would go unnoticed. But before he was able to get far, the humanoid looked to him.

"You can try to run and hide all you want, but it will be for nothing."

Sean stands there motionless, his heart pounding and several scenarios running through his head at once. He's feeling a fear and stress that he hasn't felt in a long time. A nausea was setting in his stomach.

Before anyone could react the humanoid disappeared, reappeared next to john and delivered a blow to the side of his head. John dropped to the ground, and laid there motionless.

Sean stood there in fear after realizing what had occurred. His heart was pounding as if it was going to pop out of his chest. Realizing the humanoid is now looking at him, he felt his heart jolt. Frozen stiff, unknowing what was going to occur next?

"It doesn't matter what you and the rest of you humans do, your species will be eradicated. You won't stop us or change our minds about you."

Sean looked down to John, hoping for some movement or something to happen, but noticed that he wasn't moving. The humanoid realized that Sean's site was trained on John and veered down to John himself.

"Ahhh, he's not going to help you. You don't even realize who he really is. If you only knew the truth behind your friend, you would change your mind about him."

As John was laying there, his eyes were moving all around under their lids. A sign that he was dreaming. ***

John grabbed his sword, teleported to the house. The straw roof rattling in the wind, smoke blowing his way from the adjacent house that was ablaze. Sounds of screaming from all around. Explosions from the Rollers smashing into houses. John walked up to the rickety wooden door, reached his arm out in front of him. With a flash, a bolt of lightning bolts out from the tip of his hand and blasts the door open.

Screams from kids and mothers coming from within the stone house. John walked through the smoking doorway that he had just created. Analyzed the room, seeing a broken fireplace on one side of the house, a table next to it. On the ground he noticed a few kids, covered in dirt and tears running from their eyes.

A young girl, most likely 18 or so in age, holding the kids trying to comfort them. On the ground next to them laid a dead woman. Most likely the mother John thought to himself. John walked up to the kids, raised the sword up, but as he went to strike. A girl stepped up in between the kids and John.

"Please stop, they're just kids. If you have any humanity you will leave them be."

John looked at this girl, her beautiful blue eyes caught his attention, and he saw something in her in that instant.

"I don't care, you humans will not stop us, and you angered us for the last time."

He raised his sword to this girl. Noticed the girl wasn't flinching, and held her ground to him. Suddenly, a flood of emotion came in. He felt something for this human that he had never felt previously. She walked up close to him and in the most sincere and innocent voice.

"Please, please. Just leave them, you can kill me, just leave them be." ***

Suddenly the scenery changed. John was standing there, this beautiful blue eyed girl staring at him. He is enamored by her elegance. They twirl around to the rhythm of the music. Her purple ball gown dress fluttering in the air as he spins her around.

John pulled her back in before she ran into the other people dancing next to them. As they went side to side and rotate around each other, John looked at her once again. A feeling of butterflies filled his stomach, his heart was fluttering.

He pulled onto her hand, directing her off of the dance floor. Pulling her along as he ran to a giant posh glass door. They stepped outside to a balcony, the moonlight shined down on them. John turned to the girl and dropped down to one knee.

"Sam, I've been wanting to do this for some time now."

John pulled a box out from his black jacket. Opened it up, and revealed a giant glistening dark purple diamond ring to her.

"Sam, I love you with all my heart. For some reason I feel as if we have known each other all our lives, so this was an easy decision for me. But… will you marry me?"

Sam stood there, threw her hands up over her mouth, covering the smile and tears running down her cheeks.

"Yes, yes I will marry you John."

John stood upright, threw his arms around Sam and hugged her for dear life. He moved his hands up to her face, put his palms to her cheeks and moved in for a kiss ***

John's eyes jolted open, still dazed, he turned his head side to side. Seeing smoke rising from either side. He leaned himself up, using his arms as props. His vision is still a little hazed. Sounds of gunfire coming from the distance and suddenly John heard a voice nearby.

"Well if you are going to run, then run. Either way, you're dead."

John looked to the echoing voice, stood up and remembered in that instant what had happened. The god creature had noticed John standing abroad, turned to him and laughed.

"Hahaha, what are you going to do? You couldn't even stand that last punch. These humans have made you weak. Your compassion for them is what will be your downfall."

As he was talking, John developed a greenish-blue gas around him. Sean noticed this, and a smile grew on his face

"Hahaha well now, I guess at least you remember how to do that."

The god creature said to John, and within a split second, vanished and reappeared next to john. But before he was able to complete whatever he was attempting to do, John grabbed onto his arm, and threw him into the ground onto his face.

Once the creature's face landed into the ground, a reaction of dirt and rocks were blasted off into all directions. Sean fell over from the shear shock force of the impact. Sean collected himself and looked up to see what had happened. Through the dust, he could see the creature on the ground and John walking toward him. The smoke that surrounded him was starting to spark, and he also noticed white flickering in with the greenish- blue.

'What the hell? I've never seen any of them have a white color around them.' Sean thought to himself.

The god creature stood back up, and in a split second launched itself toward John from behind again. The ground erupted in an explosion from the force. Rock and dirt was sent flying through the air behind it. With an attempt of a surprise attack, but was futile.

Before the creature could strike, John turned around, grabbed a hold of the being and slammed him forward into the ground. The ground shook from the immense force, Sean was knocked over by the shockwave once again. He looked up to see John standing over the creature, talking to it, but unable to decipher what the conversation was.

He also quickly took notice to the gassy haze that surrounded John. He saw that it was almost all white by now. John looked as if he was surrounded by a white, bluish, sparking cloud. His eyes glowed green, and his armor was glistening. Sean had no idea of what was occurring, he had never seen this before from John.

Sean laid there, watching, observing, unaware of what all was happening. For a guy that he's known most of his life, was not what he had thought. He did not know what to think at this moment, whether to be afraid, be happy or anything at all.

He just kept thinking about what all had happened, for his friend was dead. At least he presumed he was dead. By the creature that was now laying on the ground in fear.

No one has ever taken one of these creatures down, yet this man standing in front, has done that and more. Scenario's just kept running through Sean's mind,

John stood there, staring at this so-called god, seeing a fear stricken upon its face.

"Not as tough as you thought you were? Now you said that you don't know why I'm still helping these humans? What did you mean by that?"

The being coughed. Golden blood spewed from its mouth. It laid there in the divot in the ground that it had created from the impact. The gas that was surrounding it, was dissipating away slowly.

"If only you knew who you were, and knew what you did. It was that damned girl. She changed everything."

As John went to respond, the gas dissipated completely from the God's body. Its eyes went grey and its body turned to stone. The wind picked up suddenly, the sky darkened, clouds rolled in, bolts of lightning were striking all around the stone body. One struck the stone and disintegrated what was left.

Just like that, the sky cleared, and sunlight shined through. Raining heat down onto the scorched land. Whole sections of earth and forest were either burning or destroyed. Soldiers helping other wounded soldiers get to safety, as the opposing creatures were retreating. A win for humanity, but at a great cost.

John looked over to Rex and then to Sean. Seeing that Sean was fine, a little shaken up, but fine. Rex on the other hand was lost, that blow killed him.

    "Rest in peace buddy."

John said out loud. Sean finally snapped back into reality, and pushed himself up. He slowly and shakily walked over to John. Stopped right beside him, staring toward the same direction that John was. Seeing Rex's lifeless body lying on the ground in front of them, several yards away.

As the time elapsed, Sean finally decided to break the silence.

"I can't believe this whole war. Everyone we hold dear and close to us is dying. These creatures are right… no matter what we do, everyone is dead."

John jerked his head to Sean. Even through the visor he was able to see the anguish on his friends face. He turned his head back to Rex's body, put his hand on Sean's soldier, dropped his hand and began to walk up the mountain toward the safe zone.

"Let's go Sean. Let's finish this and get the hell out of here. I wanna go home now."

Sean nodded in agreement, grabbed for his weapon and began to walk. They walked up through the trees up to the base. ***
