Third Person POV

"Adopt me." Blurted Giuseppe.
Emma raised her eyebrow in surprise. "I thought you didn't want to give Bianchi up." She said referring to an earlier conversation she had with him when she told him he had the choice to change his name as all mafia members do once entering a new mafia, but he declined saying he didn't want to give his last name 'Bianchi' up.
Giuseppe fidgeted with his hands. "It's gone," the little boy declared looking down but then he looked up with glistening eyes before continuing. "The reason, I mean."
Emma understood that his dead sister had something to do with it, but chose not to delve in that territory just yet. "Which one do you want exactly? The Knights' or Paterson's?" She asked instead.
"The Knights." He answered without hesitation. "Because I get the power of both of the names that way." He was clever, calculating, and had an aura of tremendous darkness in that very moment.
Long gone the little carefree boy and in his place sat a mafia leader material, and that fact tore at Emma's heart more than she ever thought it would. "You want to deal with your father alone?" She wanted to confirm her suspicions.
"Yes, I only want you to train me into the perfect killing machine. Rip my heart out of its place or freeze it, do whatever it takes to enable me of slaughtering someone without a single beat wasted. Then give me both your name and your husband's. The rest is mine to deal with." He said coldly, clouds of darkness still clouding his icy gaze.
"It may take years to even be able to scratch him if we go your way." Emma warned.
"I'm willing to sacrifice." The little boy said with determination in his voice.
"Are you sure there is nothing else you want me to help you with?" Emma stated one last time.
"As a matter of fact, yes there is." Giuseppe said looking to a waiting Emma. "Make sure he never hits the bottom, help him reach the furthest point he could in the span of time I would take to reach my goal. Make him invincible." He said.
Both Emma and Adam looked at each other, eyebrows scrunched before returning their attention to an evilly smirking Giuseppe. "That way the hunt would be much much more fun." He concluded.
"Very well, we'll do it your way." She agreed. "Now, dig in." She said referring to his plate that one of the servants brought after he came in.

"I feel sorry for the boy." Emma said laying in Adam's embrace preparing to sleep.
Adam tightened his hold around her. "What he's gone through in the past few days could bring down men thrice his size. He's brave, he'll get through this." He comforted.
"On the outside he may, but it'll forever scar his soul. Treason overall is bad, but when it comes from a close one it's a whole new level of worst. Death of a loved one is painful, but knowing they were snatched from us in the cruellest of ways is heart-wrenching." She was lost for few moments as if she was replaying something of sort happened to her. "I would know." She added so faintly Adam barely caught it.
"He reminds you of someone?" Adam whispered.
She nodded. "Someone very close to me." Only Adam didn't know she was speaking about her own self. She was seeing the old vulnerable and helpless version of herself in the little boy called Giuseppe. She was describing her own suffering rather than his because they incredibly match.
Adam laid her on his chest as a sign of comfort. He didn't know what else to do or say to help deduce the pain that was obvious on her lost expression.
"He would be a great big brother then." Adam blurted out suddenly after few minutes of silence.
"Huh?" Emma asked still kind of lost in her own world.
"Once we have our own babies, I have a hunch he would play the role perfectly." He explained, gaining Emma's attention she shifted to meet his gaze.
"Isn't it a little too early to talk about that right now?" She asked.
"Why is it early when were already married?" He answered.
Emma broke from his embrace and sat down. "Which reminds me, why do you keep on saying that we're married when the marriage was sabotaged?" She wanted to ask him the moment her told her about it few days ago, but it slipped her mind with all these events happening.
"I registered our marriage way before I even proposed to you." Adam declared calmly with a nonchalant shrug in the end.
"Huh! Just like that?" Emma was dumbfounded.
"What more do you want me to say?" His voice kept the same calm, nonchalant tone.
"I don't know, some fucking reasons maybe!" She hissed.
Adam raised an eyebrow challengingly, "Don't. Ever. Use. That. Tone. With. Me. Ever again!" He said through gritted teeth. "And let's not forget the reason why you approached me in the first place."
Emma's eyes almost popped out of their sockets. What the fuck is that supposed to mean! Does he know? A million and one question swirled inside her head, driving her crazy in seconds.
"W- what?" She stuttered nervously. Everything she was taught about concealing her emotions and always being neutral flew out of the window at that precise moment. Shock was written all over her face.
"I've told you once Emma that I don't make contact with anyone unless I know each and everything about them. You should have known by now that I wouldn't just jump into marriage with you without knowing all there is about you." Adam confessed, still preserving the same neutral and nonchalant look.
"B- but how? You never showed an-"
"I never showed any signs of me knowing when you would frown and scrunch your nose in obvious disgust whenever my mom enters the room, nor did I let it known when you would scoff when she shows you any hint of kindness. Despite how hard you tried to cover your distaste for her, I still could see it in your facial expression and your tense posture." Adam explained.
"Distaste?" Emma scoffed the word as if it is nothing compared to what she truly feels for the woman. "Do you think all I mean for the woman is mere distaste? Oh, dear husband how sadly mistaken you are if you do think so." Suddenly her tone and body language both had changed from sweet and relaxed to deadly and stiffly tense. "I abhor the woman." She admitted in the coldest of tones.
Adam was about to speak when Emma beat him to it. "Why did you keep it to yourself until now?"
"Because all I care about is you. As long as you're here with me, I don't care about anything else. Though I'm sure what you think mom did-"
"Adam, that's not for you to interfere in. No one is to interfere in this matter, not even you." She said firmly, looking right through his eyes to let him know she's not budging on this one.
Adam pulled her into arms and kissed the side of her forehead before speaking. "All I care about is you. I don't want anything compromising your health."
They spent a while in that position before Adam spoke again. "So we're cool?" He answered carefully.
"Huh?" Asked Emma.
"The marriage thing?"
"I guess so. Since I too withheld something important from you and we were going to get married anyway, it doesn't matter when or how." She said.
He kissed her forehead again, but this time for a little bit longer than the first before heaving a breath of relief. "Thank you, baby." He said.
A/N
Hey, lovelies!
I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting for so long but I suddenly got dis-motivated to continue writing. It suddenly occurred to me that you don't really like the book any longer because you're just not as enthusiastic about it as the previous one: Her Wrath. Besides I had a huge writer block and with time I got extremely busy that I barely ever logged into Wattpad anymore. So I just gave up. But after seeing one of my fans commenting on Her Wrath yesterday night I realised that I really missed reading all of your sweet comments on my books and decided to get back to writing and hopefully for good this time.
Anyway I hope you're still interested in this story.
Only few more chapters to go and book one will be completed.
Please shower me with your comments and votes.
Hope you enjoy this update.
Until next time, bye-bye.
