Inside a theater building with a water tower on top, two men stood before each other on the stage. Their clothes were filled with holes and scratches. Their bodies were covered with sweat and blood. And their weapons, which they gripped tightly.
V entered his stance, which prompted York to enter his. In a split second, the scene changed drastically.
York was anchored to the wall on the other side of the room with a pained expression.
V was still on the stage. Although he was on the ground, clutching his stomach while coughing.
Another second later, a shockwave shook the building to its foundation. making the already messy interior even messier.
York pulled himself out of the wall, grabbed his harpoon that was not too far from him as he recalled what happened in that split second.
In a fraction of a second, V's body disappeared, or more clearly, blurred, to the point that the human eye could not see it.
In another fraction of a second, York raised his harpoon in a blocking position. This action was entirely based on York's instinct.
After that, V struck York's harpoon with his claws. sending York flying to the side from the impact.
while York was about to take off.His foot smacked into V's stomach. At the speed he was going, it was quite devastating.
If this is by pure luck or by instinct, we may never know. As for the man who did the feat, York does not know what happened either.
But, all that matters to him right now is that he's alive after taking such a powerful blow.
While V was getting himself together, York only watched from a distance, breathing heavily.
Although York is the one standing, that doesn't mean he wasn't feeling the pain from being slammed into a wall.
As V was pulling himself up, York screamed to himself. "Damn it! Why do I have to go through this? "
It's all because of that white-haired brat! If that monster wasn't with her, we could have taken her down. " York said inwardly, as he recalled the white-haired girl and the monster they had met prior.
"But this man..." York mumbled to himself as he looked at V, who was slowly getting back up on his legs.
"He is getting desperate." "York he thought as he continued to breathe heavily.
York then looked around the collapsing building he was in.
"He doesn't care about the building collapsing anymore." York continued to mumble to himself.
"Getting him desperate was the plan that white-haired shit proposed, but this... this is just reckless!" York gritted his teeth as he continued to think to himself.
"Screw the plan! If I keep following it, one of his attacks will land and I'll be dead! " York screamed inwardly as he took one final breath, calming his breathing.
While York was talking to himself, V picked himself up off the floor and recovered somewhat.
He stared daggers at York, with fury living in his eyes. This gathered York's attention, and he quickly stopped his thinking, getting ready to receive an attack again.
V exhaled a warm breath, entered his stance, and readied his claws. Upon seeing this, York then raised his guard again.
V then charged forward, only this time he didn't have the speed he had before.
V was surprised by this, causing him to take a misstep and fall down the stairs, smacking his body down onto a table.
York watched with a dazed expression, seemingly processing the information he just saw.
The table V slammed against crumbled to the ground, taking V with it.
With his face laying on the ground, V's eyes got filled with anger and frustration.
V grabbed one of the half-broken bottles rolling on the ground and slammed it against the floor while shouting. "God dammit! Always! "
The sound of glass breaking snapped York out of his daze, causing him to ready himself once again.
V stood up and charged at York normally. York wasn't expecting a normal approach, thus giving V time to reach him.
Once close enough, V took a swipe at York's neck.
York backed away in time, causing V's attack to only make a small scratch on his neck.
After seeing his attack fail, V launched another attack with his other claw. He swiped upwards, tearing York's shirt, revealing his skin underneath.
Although both of his attacks failed, V was not done yet. He used his right foot to kick York's side. York felt his ribs crack upon taking the hit from V's metal boots, which went up just below his knees.
York coughed up a mouthful of blood, but his eyes still had fire in them. He grabbed one of the broken bottles rolling on the counter behind him and swung it at V.
Fortunately, V raised his arms to block the attack, saving his face from shards of glass. His arms were protected by his metal gauntlets, thus protecting his arms as well from the shattering glass.
While V was recovering from the blow, York distanced himself.
Once a good distance away, York readied his harpoon. He pointed it at V, who was still recovering.
"Like shooting fish in a barrel." York said as he sent his harpoon speeding towards V.
V lowered his arms, revealing his hateful eyes. He crossed his claws together, forming a sort of net. V used this to catch York's harpoon. V placed his foot firmly on the ground as the harpoon hit.
Just as the harpoon was losing its speed, the thrusters on it activated. causing V to struggle to try and stop it.
Instead of blocking it like he was doing, V instead deflected it upwards. The harpoon sped into the ceiling, hooking itself in place.
But V was not done yet. He looked at the rope that connected the harpoon and York.
Without a single bit of hesitation, V used his claws to sever it.
Unfazed by V's action, York charged at him with his fist clenched, almost like he was expecting the loss of his weapon.
York landed a punch straight to V's face, causing blood to splatter.
But, York was not done yet. Before V could recover from the first punch, York sent a second one to his abdomen.
V began to fall backwards after taking the second hit, but at the last moment, he stomped his left foot behind him, giving him support.
With his balance somewhat restored, V sent his right foot towards York. His kick landed on York's side, causing him to take a step back.
Seeing the opportunity, V quickly retrieved his right leg and charged at York.
Once close enough, V grabbed York by the collar and head-butted him.
V retracted his claws. The claws drew a beautiful arc in the air before settling on V's forearm, with the blades facing outwards.
V swung his fist in front of York's face, but his fist didn't make contact, unfortunately. Instead, the blade on his forearm cut York's face as it went past.
The blades drew blood as three cuts appeared on York's face. Immediately after this, York grabbed V's face with his hand and slammed him onto the ground.
The planked floor made way for V's body as his body slammed onto the floor with so much force that it shattered the planks that made up the floor.
York quickly pinned V under the weight of his own. After that, he began pummeling V's face with power and tenacity.
A punch to the nose, a punch to the teeth, a punch to the side of the face; York did it all.
York raised his fists in the air, both hands clenched together into a ball. Without a shred of hesitation, he slammed it into V's face.
York removed his fists from V's face as he tried to regain his breath.
Then suddenly, V's green eyes seemed to glow, filled with raw emotion.
When York saw this, he immediately stopped what he was doing and sent another punch to V's face.
In the blink of an eye, V moved his arms to defend himself from the attack.
"Argh!" York released a scream of pain as his fist stabbed into the blades of V's forearm.
V took advantage of York's stagger and kneed him in the balls.
After the knee attack, V pushed York off to the side before pinning him to the ground in the same way he did to him.
A punch to the nose, a punch to the teeth, a punch to the side of the face. V mimicked all of the punches that York did, almost as though he memorized all of them in order to pay them back.
Just as V raised both of his hands in the air, clenched together. York punched him in the face, knocking him off of him.
York picked himself off of the floor and stood back up. He raised his guard while trying to catch his breath.
V, on the other hand, after standing up, immediately charged York like a crazed maniac.
As soon as V took a step, the floor underneath him finally gave way. V landed on his ass surrounded by the debris, which once was the floor they fought on.
York stared down from above the hole that V was in, catching his breath with a tired look on his face.
V, meanwhile, had a face full of energy. His gaze emitted a hateful glare, his teeth gnashing against each other.
V slammed his fist to the side while shouting. "Dammit! Why? "
V then stood up from the pile of rubble without even dusting himself off. V stretched his arms outwards, almost like he was about to bear hug someone.
When York saw this, he immediately thought "He's up to no good!" as he tried to get away.
But, before York could take a step away, V's body blurred.
V then shot upwards, tackling York mid-flight and continuing upwards with York unwillingly shielding V with his body.
They shot through the ceiling, through the roof, and even through the water tower up top.
They continued to soar through the air as the building they were in finally crumbled down after the beating it took.
As they began to fall, V's eyes gleamed with fire. He switched positions with York's body in mid-air.
Now, with York underneath, they began to quickly descend to the ground.
They collided with a building-sized pile of wood and metal.
After the dust settled, V got off of York's lifeless body.
Although emerging victorious, V's body wobbled after all the beating it took. V walked over to a nice, solid piece of wood and laid down on it.
"This sucks!" V shouted.
I'm tired! I'm hurt! Someone tap me in! " V continued to shout loudly.
"Someone else do this stinking, stupid quest!" V shouted once more.
V then suddenly stopped whining and closed his eyes.
He covered his eyes with his forearm, which was covered in blood that was not his, before falling into silence for a long while.
"No, V." V suddenly spoke, breaking the silence.
"There is no one to tap into."
"There is no one else to take up this stinking, stupid quest."
"If you give up, who will avenge her?"
V uttered these words to himself before falling into silence once more.
After a while, multiple footsteps seemed to get closer. Their clambering footsteps on the debris mountain
He rubbed his forearm against his face before sitting up. Then, the footsteps stopped as V made eye contact with the ones who were making them.
A little girl, a slightly older girl with white hair, and a man with golden eyes. This, of course, was Miya, Lilly, and Chrys.
"You okay?" Chrys inquired of V.
"Oh, it's just you guys." V said in a somewhat disappointed tone before laying back down.
Chrys then looked over to the side and stared at York's body for a while.
Lilly, meanwhile, walked over and scanned V's body with her eyes quickly.
As she was doing this, V kept his eyes closed, seemingly having no care at all about what she was doing.
"Only minor injuries, easily fixable." The face seems like it was intentionally left out since it looks the same. " Lilly said out loud.
V raised his middle finger at Lilly before saying "Fuck you, paper bitch."
Right now, V's face is so bloody and bloated from the hits he took, making him hard to recognize by face alone.
Chrys took his eyes off of York's corpse and said "Get your ass up, V. We don't have any materials here to fix you. We moved it to the Dove. "
"Whatever. By the way, that man had no intention of telling me where the core is. " V said as he pointed at York's lifeless corpse not too far away.
"Did any of you two find out where it is?" V asked without getting up.
Without a second of thought, both Lilly and Chrys replied. "Of course."
"And I, of course, totally believe you." "V said sarcastically, as he stood up.
Miya meanwhile wondered as she watched this exchange. "Did they tell us where the core is?"
