Chapter 20 Others

After Hela and V left, Chrys turned to look at the dead beast. He grabbed a scale of the beast and lifted it with a bit of resistance.

"It's quite heavy." It's a shame, we don't have Set and Celine here. This will take a while. " Chrys stated aloud.

"You're not seriously thinking of taking that whole thing, are you?" Lilly asked him with a disappointed expression.

"I would want to take all of it, but the problem is our capacity to carry these heavy scales." Chrys said, placing his hand on his chin, seemingly thinking.

"Forget it! Didn't you make a deal with those guys to have them what is left? "

"Well, they didn't say how much I needed to leave for them, now did they?" Chrys replied to her with a mischievous smile.

Why do you always do this sort of stuff? If Sister Morgan saw this, she would be disappointed. " Lilly said.

"She knew me before you." So, she shouldn't be surprised anymore. " "Crys said in his defense."

"Thick-faced bastard!" Lilly said before turning away, pouting.

"An annoying child." "Crys," he said, as he began to search for something on his person.

He found what he was looking for—a pair of keys. More specifically, the keys to the vehicle that they used to get here.

"Annoyance! "You keep watch of the girls, while I go get our truck." Chrys's name was called Lilly as he began to walk off towards town.

"One day." Lilly mumbled.

Miya soon walked over to her, fidgeting as she asked. "Umm, Miss Lilly." If you don't mind, we'll just have a little talk to ourselves over there. If you don't mind? "

"Huh? Sure. Just don't go wandering too far. " Lilly said as she returned to mumbling to herself.

"Umm, Thanks." Miya bowed and ran towards Rose and Amber.

Seeing Miya approaching, Rose asked, tilting her head. "What's wrong, Miya?"

"Umm, can I talk to you guys for a moment?" Miya asked, as she reached them.

"Uh, sure. What's wrong? " Amber asked her with a concerned face.

"Umm, hold on. Let's move a bit farther from here. " Miya asked, walking hastily off into the distance.

Rose and Amber nodded, and followed her farther away from the beast. More specifically, Lilly. She sat down by a rock and urged them to sit with her.

Rose took a seat without any problems. Amber, on the other hand, wanted to sit down, but the moment she sat down, the ground caved in a bit. Amber groaned while covering her face with her hands.

"Umm, maybe now isn't the best time." Miya said, with Amber in consideration.

"No... I'm fine, Miya. Continue... Amber said, urging Miya to continue.

"Uh, okay. The thing I want to talk about is about 'them'. " Miya said, with a serious face.

"Oh! Them. " Amber said, as if realizing something. Her face then turned serious with Miya.

"Eh, what's going on?" Rose asked as she was clueless about what they were talking about.

"What do you mean, what is going on!? We're talking about them! " Amber said as she pointed towards Lilly in the distance.

"What's wrong with them exactly?" Rose asked.

"Uh, Rose. We are talking about how they act, right? " Miya asked Amber to make sure they were thinking of the same thing.

"Yes, Miya. That is what we are talking about. " Amber confirmed.

"What's wrong with how they act?" Rose asked again.

"Huh?" Amber looked Rose straight in the soul.

"Umm, calm down, Amber. I'll explain. " Miya said, trying to calm Amber down.

"I'm fine, Miya. "It's just that Lilly is... overly excited, to put it mildly."Amber said as she took a glance towards Lilly.

Lilly somehow sensed her glare and turned towards them with a smile. Amber shivered and looked away immediately.

What's wrong with her, Amber? She seems nice, and she isn't even bothered by your Beast traits. In fact, she seems to love them. "Opposite to the people on Titan. Rose asked.

"Now that you say it, They don't act like the authorities portray them to be, in my opinion.I like how they actually are. " Rose said with a bright smile.

"There is nothing wrong with liking how they act; it's just... weird seeing as how they are the most wanted people in the world, Rose." Amber said, seemingly getting out of her trembling state.

"Well, maybe it's just a matter of getting used to them." Rose responded.

"Umm, maybe that is true." Miya said.

"I don't know how to get used to them... but maybe it's unavoidable." Amber voiced her opinion.

"Hehe, come on. They can't be that bad. What? Do you want to travel with them if they act like how the public sees them, like maniacs, or how they actually are, normal weird people? " Rose proposed a question.

"Yeah, I'd probably want them to stay the way they are because the other option is... scary to even think about." "Amber I said with a scared expression.

"Hold on a minute, why are we traveling with them in the first place?" Amber suddenly followed up with a controversial question.

"Uh, umm, well, for me." It's to reunite with my parents and family. Since the people Chrys and the others are fighting are the ones who took them. " Miya answered, explaining her reason.

"Why would he do that?" Rose asked.

"I-I don't know," Amber replied, unsure of her father's actions.

"Umm, didn't your dad and Chrys talk before we left Viridis?" Maybe Chrys knows why your dad left you with us. " Miya said, proposing a solution.

"Ye-yeah, maybe dad made a deal with Chrys about something, but what was that deal about?" Amber asked, gritting her teeth and thinking to herself.

"Umm, can't you just ask Chrys?" Miya asked.

"Yeah, Amber, just ask him." Rose agreed with Miya.

Yeah, you know what? I'll ask him when he comes back. Yeah... Amber said as her voice began to shake.

Yeah, that's the spirit. "Show him who's boss! " Rose cheered.

Amber tried to form a smile, but it came out a bit forced. Miya couldn't help herself from giggling at her smile.

"Alright, Amber. Let's head back and show these wacky Silhouettes who is on top! " Rose shouted. She then began to drag Amber back towards Lilly. Miya followed just behind them.

Just as they were heading back, two trucks began heading towards them. Miya recognized one of which she recognized as it was the one they were using to get here, and Miya presumed the other one was Lilly's vehicle.

When they reached them, Chrys and Hela got out of their separate vehicles with no V or Loki in sight.

"Where's Loki?" Lilly asked.

"On the truck bed, making sure V stays quiet." Chrys replied.

"Hmph. Can't say I disagree with that treatment." Lilly said.

"Which parts do we take?" Hela asked, while looking at the beast's carcass.

"Hmm, the scales are good, take as much as we can." Some parts of the wings, the talons and fangs, and maybe the organ that shoots fire. Can you do that? " Chrys answered like he was buying stuff at a store.

"Food?" Hela asked with a bit of a gloomy expression.

Of course, that should save us time from buying rations. "Go at it. "

Hela's face immediately turned bright when she heard his reply. She immediately began taking apart the carcass with the help of her axe.

"Come on, Amber. This is your time to shine. "Show them who's boss! " Rose said as she pushed Amber closer towards Chrys.

"Now that I think about it, maybe this wasn't a great idea." Amber said, with a fearful expression, as she was still being pushed towards Chrys.

"You've already gotten this far, Amber. Come on, don't be a sacred cat, hehehe! " Rose giggled as she kept pushing Amber from behind.

"Hmm?" Chrys turned to look at them, noticing their presence.

"You've got this, Amber. "Go!" Rose said before pushing Amber forward one last time.

"W-wait!" Amber said before stumbling just before Chrys.

Since Amber is shorter than he, this caused Amber to look up towards him. Amber's fearful expression from earlier turned into a confident one. One could easily see she is trying to act tough.

"What do you want?" Chrys asked casually.

"Ah! I just want to ask about ah- Amber tried to ask, but her voice kept wavering.

"What are you doing to her? "You bully!" "Lilly Chrys said, as she tackled Amber from the side.

"As far as I remember, I didn't bully her... yet."

It's alright, Amber. I won't let that guy bully you anymore. " Lilly said as she patted Amber's head, while Amber was trying to get free from her grasp.

Seeing as how Amber was unable to ask properly, Miya stepped forward and asked in her stead. "Umm, I think what Amber was going to ask you was... why did her father leave her with us?"

The atmosphere immediately turned sour. Chrys stared at me with serious eyes. Hela stopped swinging her axe, but it was due to it getting stuck, and even Miss Lilly stopped patting Amber's head.

Miya felt the gravity of the situation crashing down on her. Amber and Rose felt the sudden change as well and looked a bit scared.

Lilly grabbed Amber on the side of her head and made Amber face her as she asked. "Wait... Your father left you with... him?"

"Huh? Ah, yeah? " Amber answered, seemingly unsure of herself.

Lilly then turned to look at Chrys' face. Seeing Chrys' face is full of seriousness.

"I see, it's like that. Oh, you poor thing! " Lilly said as she caressed Amber's head with genuine care.

Hela then continued hacking at the carcass without saying a word. Meanwhile, Chrys walked towards the parts Hela separated, and started dragging them towards the two vehicles.

"Wait, what is happening?"

"What do you know that I don't?" What happened to my father? " Amber repeatedly asked questions with tears falling down her face, seemingly coming to answer her own questions.

Chrys stopped and said "You don't need to know." before continuing on what he was doing.

"What do you mean, I don't need to know?! Where is my father?! I want to be with my father. " Amber screamed before erupting into tears.

"There, there, cry it out." Lilly said as she comforted Amber.

I'm sure he's fine somewhere out there. No need to worry... " Lilly said while still comforting Amber.

Miya doesn't know exactly what happened, but deep down she knows exactly what happened. She could only hope that it was wrong.

Her mind then shifted towards her own parents. I wonder if they are okay. Are they eating okay? Are they even alive at this point? " Miya asked herself these questions, unaware that she too began to cry. Rose walked over, grabbed Miya by the shoulders, and hugged her.

A few hours passed, and as Chrys and Hela continued to move materials from the beast onto the trucks, Lilly and the three of the girls just sat down on the side, since at their current state they would only slow them down.

V woke up a little earlier as well. Apparently, he was just on the truck sleeping with Loki, who occasionally knocked him unconscious. Still, that stalemate didn't last, as V gained the upper hand on Loki and got off the truck without getting knocked out.

He looked like he was about to throw a tantrum, but the moment he saw the crying girls He calmed down. He raised his arms in the air as he got in one of the driver's seats.

By the time sunset came, a group of three people came towards them and handed Chrys a good-sized bag. It is clearly his payment.

After he got paid, he turned towards the others and signaled them to get into one of the trucks. They did as they were told, and all got on the same truck.

The truck was half full of scales and wing parts. It just had enough space to fit all of them. V was in front driving with Hela looking a bit grumpy in the passenger's seat.

Chrys is the only one on the other truck. When Miya looked towards the other truck, it was stacked with talons and loads of monster meat. One could imagine what it smells like over there.

Both trucks then started moving, with Chrys in front and the others right behind him. They then started to leave town in the dark of the night.
