Golden Falcon

Killed by his father's enemy because he didn't want to give up his father's research result, Adam found himself transmigrated to a magic world with an AI named Eve. Follow Adam's struggles in political conflicts, economic rivalries, and 'soccer' competition... Narrator: "Huh! Are you kidding me? How could a soccer competition appears in a magic civilization?" Author: "What's the big deal? It's a fantasy novel anyway." Narrator: "...." *** Narrator: "Hey, there is not much soccer in the novel." Author: "Just like I said earlier, it is not only soccer. Economy and politic are also there, and many battles will occur. And in the early chapters of course I have to set the foundation. Then we will kick the ball until you puke because we will start from the very bottom of the tournament." Narrator: "Is it not very focus then?" Author: "It can't be helped, right. That's just me for being the author. And I think it will more interesting that way. It's a waste if we are too focus on the sport, even though we are in a magical continent." Narrator: "Hey, you are pretty funny, you know? How about adding comedy at the tag?" Author: "This is just the way I write. If you laugh while reading, it's because you're a cheerful person, not because I was trying to become funny. So, no comedy." Narrator: "Your English is not very good, huh." Author: "Well I'm not a native, so sorry if you find some errors in my novel. I'm learning." Narrator: "Wow, you can also say sorry. You grow up man." Author: "Of course, I'm a humble person. You should know it from the start." ***

"Sir... Sir... Are you okay? Oh God, I made a big mistake."

"Damn it Cleon! I already told you not to play mana ball here. Sometimes, some newcomers are going to do magic examinations. These days, the academy is doing a yearly recruitment. Look! From his clothes, he is noble. We are in huge trouble."

"What should we do? Is he dead?"

"Don't talk nonsense! He is still breathing. Let's carry him to hospital!"

"O-okay."

Adam heard them clearly. For a few seconds, he wondered what had happened. The last thing he remembered, he was talking with Eve in the white space, and then some strong force pulled him upward.

He had a severe headache and he couldn't open his eyes.

Then, he felt his body get picked up and carried by one of the young men, after that he was disconnected from his new body. He had fainted, but, for some reason his consciousness was still awake. It was a weird sensation, and it honestly made him afraid.

'Don't panic. I think we transmigrated. From this body's memory, he was walking to a place called the magic hall in Silverpool Academy, and then a hard thing hit his head which knocked him unconscious.

From the two boys' conversation, we can make a conclusion that this incident was caused by them. I am still trying to arrange his memory, it will take a while. By the way, his name is Adam Elbaz.' Eve's voice was transmitted to Adam's soul, making him relax.

'Okay. So, did he die? The owner of the body,' Although it's not their fault, it still made him feel guilty.

'You should know the answer to that. It's crystal clear that he died, and his death let us come to this world. If you want to feel guilty about this, try to inherit his dream and his burden.'

Adam was amazed for a while, until he realized that she took those words from a novel, 'Good speech! By the way, you still haven't answered my question from back there.'

'Honestly, you can find it yourself. Our minds are connected.'

'But, it would be rude right?' Honestly, he didn't agree with the whole reading each other's mind thing. He thought memory was a private thing, someone else didn't have any right to access them

'Stop with the sarcasm. I let you do it because It's more convenient,' Eve said.

'Well, if you insist,' Adam tried to access Eve's memory, and he was overwhelmed by the vast amount of information that he got. He couldn't stand it anymore, and he was forced to stop accessing her memory, 'That was crazy. Maybe only you are able to store that much information in your memory.'

'Is it that difficult? It is so simple.'

'Maybe for you, an AI. No, I'm sorry, I mean a former AI. But I can't believe you could keep that much information. How do you do it?' Adam was amazed.

'I don't know. I just know that I can remember all of the information that I've seen, heard and felt. Somehow, all the information that I had accessed back then when I was an AI, stayed in my memory.'

Adam was dumbfounded, 'Cool... Can you just show me the information that I need?'

'I can.'

Adam expected her to talk about something else, but she didn't, 'By the way, Are we going to share one body from now on?'

'I think so. By the way, I have arranged this body's memory. I will transfer it to you.'

'Huh, wait.' Adam then felt a large amount of information enter his mind, it was not as painful as he thought it would be. And for some reason, he could digest it easily.

He felt like he was watching a movie. No, it was more like he was experiencing it himself but he couldn't do anything he wanted. He just followed the scenes of this body's memory one by one, from childhood to before he was hit by the ball. It should've taken a long time to experience it, but for some reason, it only took a few minutes.

For a while, he contemplated what he had experienced in the memories. He finally understood who the former owner of this body was.

He was the only son of Viscount Ryan Elbaz. He had two sisters, Alice and Elma. Alice had already married his father's new knight, Dylan, and his younger sister Elma was still only 10 years old.

His mother Sarah was a daughter of Marquis Gerald Brighton. A marquis whose territory was in the Eastern region of Laits Kingdom. Elbaz territory itself was in the Southern region of the kingdom which faced wilderness of barbarian.

As the sole son of a noble house, Adam was educated strictly. As a result, at age 10, he had already mastered Laits nobles' code of conduct, Common etiquette of the Seven Alliance, and three languages: Fro language, Xeno language, and Gonola language. The three languages that were most commonly used in Salama Continent.

At age 12, He had already mastered the basics of Laits sword art, basic arithmetic, basic astronomy and the general geography of Laits Kingdom.

After that, he was involved by his father, the Viscount of Elbaz in their territory's administration and decision making.

Then, three months ago, he was sent to the capital of Laits Kingdom, Greylion City to enlist in Greylion Academy, but, his pride was severely injured because he couldn't pass the first test, the magic examination.

The magic examination was actually a normal test, when a teenager older than 15 years old enlisted in the army, registered to be an adventurer or was lucky and smart enough to enter one of Academies, they would be tested for their magic ability.

The institution didn't test them to know whether they had magic ability because almost 100% people in the world had magic ability, but to know what their magic ability was and how good their talent was for training magic.

The majority of people couldn't surpass level 1 as a mage, even if they trained hard. It was because they didn't have upgradable mana lakes in their bodies. Even if their mana was full, the excess of their manas would only leak out their bodies.

Some people, about 10% of the population, had upgradable mana lakes. With meditation, exercising, consuming precious ingredients, and many other methods, they upgraded their mana lakes which also upgraded their powers.

Adam's case was a rare occurrence. The Scholars called this case 'magic dysfunction'. A situation where they couldn't generate mana inside their body. This disease was usually followed by 'mana allergy', which caused the person's body to reject the mana in the air around them.

When a person was diagnosed as having 'mana allergy', usually they would die early on, since mana was everywhere. Nobody could avoid being exposed to mana as long as they were alive in this world. As time went by, their body would become weaker and weaker, eroded by mana, until finally they died.

A few days after he was diagnosed with magic dysfunction, Adam was depressed. He couldn't accept it, but he was helpless to do anything about it.

Until he heard from his father's friend, that in the Silverpool Academy in the Silverpool City there was a professor named Nadine that was studying this disease, and hypothesized that this was not always magic dysfunction. In some cases this was a special condition when a person's body didn't leak their  mana, so their body stopped generating mana, because the mana in his body had already been full.

After he got the information, Adam and his escorts, who followed him from his territory, took a week-long journey to Silverpool City. He desperately hoped he had that special condition and not magic dysfunction.

Yesterday evening they arrived in Silverpool City. After spending the night in an inn, he came alone to Silverpool Academy. At the front office, after he showed his noble badge and recommendation from his father the Viscount of Elbaz, he was directed to the Magic Hall, to do a magic examination and to meet Professor Nadine, the person who he wanted to meet. And the rest of the event, an accident happened when he was walking to the magic hall. A mana ball hit his head and killed him.

'It was ridiculous, how could a playing ball have killed him,' Adam wanted to cry when he knew what a mana ball was.

A mana ball was a ball that was used to play a game that was similar to soccer. The game was called battle ball. It was a popular sport which had almost the same rules as soccer, except it was played by seven players per team and unlike soccer which prohibited physical confrontation, this game encouraged it, except intentional physical attacks like punches, kicks, headbutts, etc.

Honestly, Adam was interested in this game until he knew that this game was more like a magical match, where fireballs fly, Ice walls were erected, and Illusions were created. The players of this game must be at least a Level 3 Mage to play.

'Of course, if you are a mage, getting hit by a mana ball won't hurt at all, but for untrained civilians, getting hit by one can be fatal. I just can't imagine what kind of idiots they are, to train this kind of sport in an open area,' Eve disagreed.

'Well, it is still kinda ridiculous for me. So, what do you think? Will I inherit his magic dysfunction?' It made him worried.

'I don't know, let's wait until the next magic examination.'

Then, Adam felt a warm feeling spread across his body, feeling strongest at his head. He didn't have a headache anymore. He began to wake up.
