80 Stroke of Death 2/4

After the teleportation, Raven gasped for air as she was exhausted from doing so many in one night. Teleportation takes a lot of concentration and mana to pull off otherwise one could be put in the wrong place...and that's the best outcome if something goes wrong.

Ethan was treated to a familiar sight, a dark gloomy city with towering buildings that looked over the city's nightlife. It was fairly late, almost midnight, but people were still out and about. However, that's in the more popular areas, the places where people should be in their houses with locked doors are practically empty.

He spent over half a year in this place just being depressed and refusing to go on with his life. Looking back at it made him cringe, but at the moment, he had more important things to worry about.

Raven teleported all of them on top of an abandoned building in what's called Crime Alley, Ethan could tell because of the impoverished buildings that looked like they were going to collapse if a simple breeze passed through.

'Now where is she...' Ethan closed his eyes and used his link with Sandra to find out her location.

"You!!" Mera scowled. "How dare you drag me again without my consent! I-Mm!" Her mouth was covered with his hand as he continued to concentrate.

Mera widened her eyes, 'I'm being touched by another man?!' she screamed in her mind as a slight blush appeared across her face.

"Found her. Let's go."

"Wai-" Mera was abruptly grabbed by the hand and pulled into the air as Ethan leaped across to the closest building.

"Stop! STOP!!" However, Ethan ignored the pleas of the princess, continuing his advance towards Sandra's location.

'I think I'm starting to like messing with this princess. That's not an instinct of a dragon, is it?" Ethan mused for a moment.

'I'll blame it regardless.' He nodded.

"UNHAND ME THIS INSTANT!! YOU SCOUNDREL!!"

"It's none of your concern," Sandra said while trying to figure out a way to escape from their current predicament. Of course, she could easily cut down these nuisances if she wanted to, but she didn't want to show that side to her daughter.

'Perhaps it was a mistake to find my daughter again....no, don't think like that. It was not a mistake.' Sandra stilled her wavering mind and waited for the perfect opportunity to make her move.

Cassandra didn't quite understand what was going on, but she wasn't stupid. She had already got an inkling of what type of person her mother was from the way she fought.

She was a killer...just like her.

But...if that was the case then...why hasn't she ran away yet?

What was she doing?...

Cassandra had been so lost and drained after all these years that just about any form of compassion could sway her heart.

Of course, she was able to tell if it was genuine and it was genuine...

Her mother truly cared about her and that brought a new dilemma.

"Cassandra move!"

A dilemma that she couldn't focus on as the fight had just begun...

One that she would remember for the rest of her life.

It was hard to know who and what was doing what is with so many people in an enclosed area, but Sandra fought with everything she had while simultaneously holding back a great deal.

She didn't want to do anything that could potentially cause Sandra to relive the trauma that has taken root in her mind and soul

Sandra used the back of her blade and fierce kicks to fend for herself and her daughter while simultaneously looking for a way to escape.

Moving as fast as he could while dragging Mera along who screamed different profanities at Ethan or at least he thought they were...

Myra seemed to enjoy seeing Mera in such a state and Ethan swore he could see a slight smirk on Raven's face from time to time.

He thought even heard a bit of a snicker, but he must have been imagining things as he has never seen or heard Raven laugh.

A mission for another time.

They were closing in on Sandra's location and immediately he could hear gunshots and metal striking metal.

It was a fight!

Ethan let out a low growl, quickening his pace despite Mera screaming even louder than before.

Within seconds he jumped down into the alleyway, carefully controlling his strength that only cracks were left on the pavement.

His entrance forced everyone to stop what they were doing and focus on him due to the amount of killing intent he was giving off.

Most people can't feel killing intent, but ones well versed in the ways of killing and martial arts can feel it.

And it was heavy...

It was like an immovable weight that increased just by being in the same area.

The Talons were trained to not fear death, but something was telling them to run away.

That scary feeling and sensation all went away in a flash when they heard.

"Hubby!" The sound came from the exhausted Sandra who ran directly into his arms, squeezing him with all her strength. It's only been a little over a week, but she missed him dearly.

Smelling his familiar scent and feeling those strong arms wrap around her made her feel like the luckiest woman in the world.

"Sandra, are you ok?" Ethan asked, checking her over. She only had superficial wounds such as grazes, but even that didn't sit well with him.

The people around him were forced to experience that heavy killing intent to an even greater degree, forcing some to directly pass out.

Some were unaffected, but one of them surprised Ethan

.

It was Deathstroke!

Seeing Ethan's eyes widen for a moment made Slade know that this man knew who he was and that surprised him a bit.

"I don't think we know each other, but you're in the way of my bounty...and I don't like that," Slade said in a threatening manner.

"Now if you would just get-GUUH!"

Before Slade could finish his next sentence he felt a powerful hand, wrap around his neck, sealing off his oxygen as he was lifted in the air, dropping his gun.

Ethan didn't care that he actually liked this guy from the comic books as he was now simply someone who was messing with his woman.

He planned on slaughtering everyone in this alley and burn them until there was nothing left!

However, Ethan noticed another person he didn't expect at the corner of his eye.

It was Cassandra!

She was still a bit dirty from her days living on the street, but he could immediately tell it was Sandra's daughter who eventually became the new Batgirl.

'Is this why you left?' Ethan mentally asked Sandra who quickly nodded her head.

Ethan knew all about Cassandra and her struggle with her past as she was basically a mute due to the way she was trained.

And she had a real issue with killing and death...which he wouldn't blame her as he just came to terms with what he has done in the past.

However, he had people by his side while Cassandra didn't have anyone...

During this brief time of thought, Ethan was unaware of the changes that were going on within Deathstroke.

His veins on every inch of his body started to bulge out just as his body started to bulk up a little. Slade could feel the inside of his body burning as if he standing directly in an inferno.

He wasn't too happy about using this new power, but when someone is seconds away from losing their life...they will pretty much do anything.

Especially when there is so much more at stake than his life.

'No...' Raven immediately frowned as she felt a familiar power bursting forth from the man being held in the air by Ethan.

A variety of emotions hit her at once.

Fear...

Sadness...

Rage...

Her entire demeanor changed from someone that was mostly quiet to one that took center stage as the demon blood within her pumped even faster.

A man known by only a handful was sitting in a chair in complete darkness while watching a massive screen that seemed to show the live feed of what was going on in the small alleyway in Gotham City.

A smirk was present on his face as he watched the incident unfold just as a woman that looked strikingly similar to him spoke up.

"Was it wise to accept help from that demon?" She asked. "I don't think-"

" It is fine..." The man answered clearly annoyed by such a question.

"But-"

"I said it was fine!" The man shouted, slamming his fist down onto the metal table in front of him, creating a fist-sized dent. "They will have their fun not knowing that I will reap the benefits of their actions. I know...exactly what I am doing. You are dismissed."

"Fathe-"

"DISMISSED!" He bellowed. "Do NOT make me say it again."

The woman wished to say more, but she listened to his command and swiftly left the room without looking back, leaving the man to continue watching.

"Soon...the world will be united as one. No matter what the cost..."
