Chapter 9

Fictious thought regarding love and power is-

"It's warm like spring."

However, no one ever says the next thing.

"But, it's cold like winter.''

I am yet to taste both power and love, I am yet to get poisoned by the sweetest venom, yet to be intoxicated by the sweetest form of slow death.

Passing through the deep and dark Magical wood of Madac, we arrived at the hideout of the Special Unit of 7 Sword masters of Elimer. It's an old 2 storied building made out of red wood by the lakeside at the edge of Madac. With a door, two windows on the ground floor and four at the second floor, blooming fresh lilies of the valley and tulips, it looked like a beautiful dream house.

But little does anyone know; this very same dream house is mantically designed for the 7 most powerful sword masters of the continent by the beasty Princess of Elimer. Everyone other than 7 sword master's and I is proscribed from entering.

I knocked on the door, and it was opened by Jermia. She looks hagg down, loud bricking could be heard from inside.

"They are fighting again?" Edwin asks Jermia with a crooked smile on his lips. Jermia gives a tired look, "When they don't?"

I shake my head and walk inside. I swear on my life, I feel like raising 7 kids as a single mother. But who is the father? Not like I slept with 7 different men.

The moment I walked into one of the rooms on the ground floor, a dragger came flying toward me. I avoided that and it stabbed into the door. This was the last straw of patience of mine.

"JUST WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!" I scream at the top of my lungs.

Emilla who was hovering on Jordan, smacks his jaw and stands up. Her hair bun was no longer flawless as always, her mid length straight dark purple hair is messy. Flushed red cheek from anger, her round grey eyes were closed, and she was mouthing something under her breath, resting her palm on her hip.

A painful groan comes out his mouth, helped by Cristian and Luka Jordan sits on a chair holding his jaw, at the corner Ruby is eating bread with butter and cup of black tea.

Edwin starts laughing with his heart content while entering. "Oh my god! Other than you, none can control these idiots." Jermia whispers near me. But I am nowhere proud at that compliment.

"Did you get beaten by your ex- girlfriend again?" Throwing his arms around Jordan. His infamous black robe was torn from his arm length. Pitch black messy hair covering his forehead, soft facial feature, his tender cornflower blue monoid eyes, black eyelashes long and small nose- who would believe if I said this man has the heart of ripping a 7 ft monster with just a dragger. Jordan is smaller compared to other two male; Cristian and Luka.

Cristain is as tall as Edwin, wearing an iron cuirass underneath a crimson shirt with long sleeves and black pants, he was giving off the typical spy vibe as always. He started growing his very fine crimson hair 6 months ago after getting rejected by the love of his life. Hazel hooded eyes, a scar over his left eyebrow which he got while saving me, roman nose and shap jawline- trust me, this guy is the best playboy in all knights of order.

On the other hand, Luka is a baby in a buffed man's body. Two years younger than me, the fourth youngest sword master of Elimer, a war surviving kid whom I saved 'Accidentally' while exploring the snowy land of North 5 years ago. Pastel pink soft wolf cut hair; crystal peach orange eyes filled with innocence of young age. Luka is the only one I can truly call adorable due to his round face, small nose and baby soft skin.

About Ruby, what can I say? She is the craziest yet the most gorgeous master I have ever come across. Flawless skin, thin waist, large breast and hip, beautiful ocean blue siren eyes which will take your breath jaw. Small nose, plumpy rose pink lips, long wavey red hair tied into a braid. She is the perfect example of beauty with brain, but it's better not to get on her nerves.

"Why did you ask us to gather in such short amount of time, Your Highness?" Ruby asks first after shoving the last piece of bread into her mouth and wiping off the breadcrumbs from her mouth.

Everyone's attention is on me now. I wish I could allow them to rest for a while, but I am unable to from the moment they joined SPECIAL UNIT. I take a deep breath, What's the point of thinking about impossible?

Aren't we all rejected by the world gathered to survive together? Ruby is illegemate daughter of Duke Desmons of North. Jordan is the youngest son of Arbec of East, far from the line of inheritaning his family, Christian is run away prince of Easter Kingdom of Keya, Luka is a war surving child, Edwin is the heir of Wikke who is repetedly compared to his father and grandfather, Jermia is noble daughter of famous Counts of Levres but blamed for her mother's death by her family. And I, I stand nowhere.

I promised them, I promised them a better life, but I am just-

"Lost in thought again, Captain?" Cristian snaps his finger in front of me, drawing me back from my thoughts.

I give them a small smile, "I am sorry, but this might be the most dangerous mission of all the missions we have ever conducted."

"Are you planning to overthrow the emperor?" Emilia grins, they are more desperate to get rid of Father and Cassian than me.

"I wish it was the case, maybe I could feel less guilty about that." My face hardens so did others. Jermia nods at me, assuring me, I always have my 7 so called discipline with me even if I were to jump into hellfire.

"ArvanDahors is aiming for Golden Crown. I want you all back to the capital." I look at them seriously. Other than Edwin and Jermia everyone's face turned pale, a sudden flame in their eyes shocked me. I thought they would be dissappointed, it's quite the opposite.

"What an amusing way of casuing a necessary war!" Jordan finally speak, irritation and annoyence in his tone.

"Those damn dragons and their riders," Ruby mumbled some curse words under her breath.

"Wow! Are we finally facing the dragons?" Emillia's eyes lit up.

"I prefer capital over cold land of North." Cristian grins.

"Should we order some new swords embodied by magic stones?" Luka suggested.

"I like it that way,' Jermia winks at Luka as he smiles innocently.

"It's gonna be chaotic after such a long time. I don't enjoy peace that much, you see." Edwin laughs.

I feel my eyes getting teary. Why do they support me unconditionally when I cannot trust any of them blindly? Why do they think I am always right when I can't even trust my ownself? They are well aware, we are comparatively weak against Arvan Dahors and his dragons, it might cost their lives at some point, it might cause them to lose the little they have.

I am ashamed of my cowardness. The room filled with laughter and brick once again, and I admire them. Emillia's sulking face, Jordan's wounded nose and getting teased by Cristian and Edwin over past, Jermia and Luka in their own world discussing swords they want to get.

"Why do you look shocked as though you didn't expect this?" Ruby says, standing beside me. I turned to face her; she was smiling beautifully. It's one of the rare occasions where she smiles.

"I don't know. Maybe because I promised you guys a better life," I say. She shakes her head and points toward others, "You have already given us the best life we could ask for, Captain. We will happily take swords with you because it's you who we swore our loyalty to." Assurance in her calmed my chaotic heart. I chuckle softly and close my head, enjoying the laughter around me after a while.

"Maybe," I whisper, loud enough for only us to hear. She says nothing so do I.
