Apocalypse IV - Enter into Heaven

I take my golden quiver I used and throw it in. Someone fires an arrow at it and makes it fall away from the bundle. He gets up and says, "I too have children. Even I dreamt the same as you did. But I see that you are right. We were being jerks. We had no right to kill each other. No parent would ever want their children to grow in a place like this. I see that you are right. We all should be peaceful. We shouldn't kill. No one's done anything wrong to be killed here" More voices grew among those in front of me as soon my opinion became a shared opinion. Most people here had children, siblings or girlfriends and they hoped that one day they would be joined here by their loved ones. They had let their anger get to them. Now they were all calming down. One boy who was most likely a recent graduate from his looks brought me my quiver and said, "Sir, we will follow you. We don't want to kill. We are humans. Humans make mistakes. I hope you can forgive us..." He knelt in front of me on one knee and held up my quiver in his hands and bowed down his head. Soon everyone else followed suit.

I took my quiver from him and said, "You are all my friends, not my underlings. You don't need to bow down. I am truly grateful for your support-"

I was interrupted by a huge blast from the other camp. I turned around and saw the blast forming a sort of mushroom cloud. Some dumbass thought that it was wise to use Brahmastra, lucky he is a very weak dumbass.[For reference: Brahmastra is a weapon that can be fired like an arrow. A strong archer can do it multiple times a day. The average Brahmastra can take out an entire battlefield in one go.] Only weapon which I know produced such a mushroom cloud is Brahmastra.

"What do we do milord?"

I look at the people around me and say, "We need to stop them. They are people willing to use Brahmastra at night against those who can absolutely not take it. Or goal in this war was to eliminate them. We just need to continue in it. Some people need to be beaten down and taught a lesson. Those people in the other camp are like that. If not put to check they'll continue on their warpath. Innocents will be next. If we don't stop them and one day, they reach back to Earth they would represent us. Would you want such people to represent you?"

"But you just said that we mustn't kill anime each other. We are all players. They are going through the same pain as us. How can we kill them. Shouldn't we settle with them and form a truce?" Came a voice from the back.

"Even Arjuna felt the same thing before the actual Mahabharata began. He felt that he could not kill his brothers, his teachers, his family. But what did Krishna tell him? He said, "Partha, you are a Kshatriya. It is your job to end this war." Krishna also told Arjuna that those guys on the other side were the same guys who either insulted Draupadi or sat silently and watched as Dushyasan tried to strip her in the open. It was Arjuna's job to finish his war. It is our job to finish ours. Those guys on that end are no different from Duryodhan or Dushyasan. It is true that they are going through the same pain we are, but they are expressing it by killing others.

Is it not our duty to put an end to their tyranny?! Will you follow me into war?!!!"

"YES!!!!"

[For reference, Arjuna was the archer Pandava. Duryodhan was the eldest Kaurava and Dushyasan was the second eldest. Draupadi was the Pandavas' wife]

The chorus of the soldiers filled my heart with some content. I put my quiver around my shoulder and then call the boy who gave me my quiver. I ask him, "What's your name kid?"

He answers, "Subhash. My name is Subhash, Milord."

I tell him, "Subhash, in the North Eastern corner of the camp, there are all the weapons. I want you to take all the people to there and give them weapons. The weapons I burnt now, we're those we captured in today's battle. Get that bundle and distribute it."

I pat his back and tell him to go. I go back into my room, put my quiver into my inventory and go back to sleep. I can only hope that Charles isn't having a hard time right now.

Charleston's POV,

I reached the foot of Mount Sumeru in a few hours. I then told my sarathi to go back to Kurukshetra.

I then start climbing. This place is filled with monsters and only those pure of heart can reach the peak without any monster attacking them in the way. I am not sure of heart. No wonder so many monsters are behind me. "Achoo" Who's thinking of me now? Adi must be having a rough time if everyone is like those idiots I ended up killing. Brother, you must worry. I will get something or the other out of this! I have been on this mountain four times already. In this game, there is a thing called blessing and affinity. If you receive a blessing from a God of your affinity, your affinity to that thing will increase. I have a lightning affinity. So recieving a blessing from a lightning God dhal increase my affinity to lightning by 1. Since swordsmen are weaker than other classes in India, I had to work that much harder to reach where I am today. Part of working harder included going to lightning Gods for quests and blessings. I succeeded to get 2 from Zeus, 3 from Thor, and 4 from Indra. A total of 9 blessings putting my affinity with lightning at a good 900. 1000 is the limit to which blessings and curses from Gods work. If I get one more blessing, I will be immune to all curses from Gods of lightning.

I reach the peak in a few hours. The doors of heaven are beautiful no matter how many times I see it. They are two golden doors with sculptings of all the events in Hindu mythology. I step forward and the gate opens and in front of me is Indra himself draped in white. He is surrounded by a brilliant white aura. He says, "Welcome back to heaven, Karthik. Or should I say, Charleston?"

[Mythology titbits(One every alternate chapter from this one based on Indian history and mythology highlighted in the chapter)

It is said that the five Pandavas, their wife Draupadi (the story of how she ended up with five husbands is in the first chapter (from 20th November 18- to those who read it on an earlier date, you can check it out again), and the dog of the Pandavas, were going to heaven. They climbed up Mount Sumeru to go to heaven. Draupadi, who was very proud of her beauty fell off the steep mountain first. Then Nakula and Sahadeva who were extremely proud of their handsome face fell down. Arjuna, who was very proud of his skill with the bow was the next to fall. Bhima who was very proud of his strength was the next to fall. Only Yudishthira, who wasn't very proud of himself, and their dog made it to the peak. When they reached there, Indra told that Yudishthira could enter but not the dog. But then Yudishthira fought for the dog's entry into Heaven and got the both of them in. Since, in the mythical story, only Yudishthira who was pure of heart reached in, I wrote that only those pure of heart could reach the peak unhindered.]
