11 Wailing Ghost Hill

Wailing Ghost Hill. This was the name of one of the most renowned Monster-populated forests within Wind Cloud City.

Hunters often frequent the Wailing Ghost Hill to hunt for Monsters, and it was not surprising to find groups of hunters fighting monsters in this region.

Long Chen silently went into the depths of the forest, all alone.

As he peered around the eerily quiet forest, he couldn't help but feel a bit of nervousness.

The monsters within the forests were at least Grade 2, which were comparable to the Qi Refining Realm.

At this current Realm, he could deal with a few Grade 2 Monsters together, but what if a large group of Grade 2 Monster surrounded him.

He couldn't help but raise his vigilance, as he looked around warily for any traces of movement.

Just then, he caught a faint movement from the corner of his eyes, and he turned around to see what it was.

It was a Grade 2 Purple Clouded Beast, known for its extraordinary strength and ferociousness.

This was quite a good practice target for Long Chen.

He unsheathed a metal sword that he had bought on the way to the forest, placing it in front of him, pointing towards the Purple Clouded Beast.

Slowly walking towards the Purple Clouded Beast, he braced himself mentally.

Suddenly, he accidentally stepped on a leaf, producing a soft crunching sound that was particular loud in this silent forest.

The Purple Cloud Beast turned towards the sound in alert, then it noticed Long Chen.

Its eyes immediately turned blood red as it charged towards him ferociously.

Long Chen moved.

The sword within his hand flashed out a ray of light, then disappeared back into darkness.

On the Purple Cloud Beast, a faint line appeared across its neck.

Then it fell down, dead.

[Host gains 1 Proficiency in Shadow Sword Skill]

[Ding…Grade 2 Beast killed. Host gains 10 Experience]

Long Chen breathed in deeply, his heart still pumping quickly from the adrenaline of danger.

The monsters that he had killed before were incomparable to the one in front of him.

The previous monsters he had hunted were mere ants, while this seemed more like a Monster to him.

Those blood-red eyes made his mind stopped turning for a moment, in fear.

It felt like his heart had stopped for a moment.

Finally calming himself down after a while, he went toward the dead Monster, then placed his hand onto it.

[Ding…Mortal Grade 4 Talent detected. Absorbing Talent]

Shortly after, he collected the corpse within the bag he had prepared, and continued onwards on his journey.

3 days later.

A youth stood standing amongst a pile of corpses, his sword hanging loosely at the side, injuries riddled his body, the blood dripping off his hand, down the sword, onto the ground.

He emanated a feeling of ferociousness, and an imposing aura.

His eyes were a faint shade of red, while his figure was upright and sturdy.

This was Long Chen.

After the 3 days of killing, his entire body had been dyed with red, stained by both the blood of numerous monsters, as well as his own.

He had experienced the taste of death a few times, and was lucky enough to walk away, unharmed.

Those damn Grade 3 Monsters!

The killing has started to become a habit of his, more so this time, than before.

When dealing with such bloodthirsty monsters, it also rubbed off onto him.

This killing, could be considered as a form of baptism.

An enhancement of his entire body, an state of mind.

He pulled up his status window

Host: Long Chen

Age: 13

Cultivation Talent: Mortal Tier 12 (0/150)

Cultivation: Seventh Qi Refinement Realm (0/700)

Skills: Shadow Sword (Yellow Grade 7): 70/100

Bone Muscle Alteration (Yellow Grade 4): 50/100

He had used the shadow sword skill so many times that it had already become a part of him, assimilated within his mind.

Practicing against the monsters not only honed his battle instincts, but also his skills, as his Shadow Sword Skill became more efficient, more dangerous, and quicker as time passed.

This could partly be attributed to his exceptional talent, which allow his comprehension ability to be far beyond his peers, allowing him to learn Combat Skills at a much faster rate,

You could say his rate of improvement this past few days was astonishing.

At least, now, he could guarantee success within the same Realm.

And right now, with his cultivation base, he was basically undefeatable within the entire Outer Court disciples.

Just as he collected the corpses within his overflowing bag, and determined it was time to leave, he heard a commotion nearby.

He saw a silhouette running in panic, while behind the person, a few burly and well-built man were chasing after.

"Stop right there! You have already been injured my knife, and if you run some more, you will die sooner or later" A person growled in anger.

"Even if I stop, you will still kill me, so what is the point? I might as well run, shouldn't I?" A girl's voice rang out. It was weak and delicate, and it was evident that she wasn't in a good condition.

The group of people didn't give up, as they continued to chase after her.

Long Chen merely shook his head at this. Killing and slaughtering within the forest was normal, it was not his problem to interfere in. He was not a saint, why would he help anyone that he saw?

He was about to leave, when he caught a glimpse of the girl's robes. She was also a Moonlight Disciple, like him.

He sighed. As a fellow Moonlight disciple, he should at least lend a helping hand to her.

The girl abruptly tripped, and fell onto a ground, as a painful cry came out from her mouth. Yet her face still maintained her determination, as she struggled to pull herself up and get free from the difficult situation.

As the group of men saw this scene, they revealed joyous and relieved expressions on their faces.

They had spent so much effort and time only just to try to chase after her, and now they could finally get hold of her.

All of a sudden, a middle-aged man appeared within their sights, standing in front of the girl, with a sword within his hands.

He radiated a faint bloody aura, powerful and ferocious.

He was the disguised Long Chen.

The group of men looked at him with vigilance, pausing in their tracks, while Long Chen took a swift glance at them.

4 6th Qi Refining Realm Cultivators, and 1 7th Refining Realm Cultivators

This was a powerful group, but he was able to deal with them.

The leader of the group went forwards and cupped his fist as Long Chen, peering deeply at Long Chen as he introduced himself, "Fellow Cultivator, I am Bang Yun from the Wild Wolves Gang. The girl behind you is one of our targets. Could you give the Wild Wolves Gang some face, and let her go with us?"

Bang Yun tried using his background to oppress Long Chen, hoping for him to submit.

Although the Wild Wolves Gang was not particularly famous, however, it still had bit of authority and sway within the Wind Cloud City.

"The Wind Wolves Gang. How impressive. A mere gang actually dares to take action against a disciple of the Moonlight Sect?" Long Chen sneered.

The Moonlight Sect could so easily destroy a thousand of these small gangs, yet they actually had the guts to deal with their disciples?

Where did they get their courage from?

Bang Yun's expression immediately turned ugly. It was apparent that Long Chen did not have a single ounce of respect towards them.

It was true that even if they were given ten thousand guts, they won't even dare to touch the Moonlight Sect disciples.

But they were under the orders of someone powerful, and they could only helplessly obey the instructions from the higher-ups

"Since you want to go against us, then don't blame us for what we are going to do next!" Bang Yun angrily gritted his teeth, waving his arms to signal his mates to surround Long Chen.

Underestimation? There was no way he would do something so stupid.

He had not lived so long just by being stupid.

"Attack!" Bang Yun shouted.

The group of man rushed towards Long Chen, as he stood calmly at the center, his face calm and serene.

The corner of his lips curled.

"I wonder, if killing humans is anything different from killing monsters."
