Breaking Through!

Long Chen looked towards the defensive skill he had just used, and quickly retracted this skill.

It was good and all, but he could clearly sense that the Elemental Qi within him was swiftly being consumed for every second the skill was one, especially when it had taken the sword ray from Huang Qin.

The fight continued on, and as Long Chen felt a sense of fatigue enveloping him, along with the pain that originated from a few areas of his body, caused by the few sword strikes that had struck his body, his heart was brimming with joy.

Why? It was because he could clearly feel that his bottleneck was loosening.

On the other hand, Huang Qin knew that a few of the sword strikes that he had unleashed had been afflicted upon Long Chen's body, but he himself had suffered a few injuries too.

Although he was currently winning, he felt that sense of nagging unease that he was unable to shake off.

A slight smile appeared on Long Chen's face when he realized that his bottleneck towards the Sky Realm was now as fragile as a piece of glass, and all he needed, was that final push.

"Huang Qin! This sword battle had gone on for too long, and it is time for it to end. If you can defend against my one full-power strike, I will personally admit my defeat to you." Long Chen raised his head and looked towards Huang Qin

And without even waiting for him to respond, his entire body began to move.

His feet fiercely pushed against the ground, as he rose up a few meters to meet Huang Qin's current height.

Then, with a slight shout, he wildly swung his sword out, with an astonishing amount of strength being transferred from his hands to his sword.

The sword hummed as it illuminated with his dense Elemental Qi, before a sword ray was released from the tip of the sword.

This sword ray was sharp and dominating, and it pierced through the air as though it was cutting paper. Two violent gusts of wind were created from the power of this sword ray, and spread out towards the surroundings with ripples of force.

Staring at the sword ray in front of him, Huang Qin felt that sense of danger that originated from his soul.

He quickly retreated backwards in mid-air, while swerving his body to try to dodge it. But this sword ray seemed to have eyes, as it followed his movements and furiously charged towards him without a single hint of emotion.

Seeing this, Huang Qin could only raise his sword up and retaliate with a few sword strikes of his own. Each strike he had unleashed were filled with his dominating power of the Sky Realm, but whenever it met Long Chen's sword ray, it seemed to be akin to thin air as it disappeared upon contact.

Huang Qin's eyes widened in shock, and before he knew it, the sword ray had already appeared before his eyes.

His defensive shield he had covered around his body was pierced through like thin paper, and he was knocked out of the air like a straight arrow.

He flew back for more than a few meters, before he impacted the protective barrier covering the arena, and fell powerlessly onto the ground.

Huang Qin could feel that his skin had been cleanly penetrated, with the resultant forces spreading throughout the innards of his body, messing up with his internal organs.

A wave of blood involuntarily rose up from his throat, and without any warning, his mouth opened up and a fountain of blood spurted out, dying the ground in front of him fresh red.

Even after sustaining such injuries to his body, he still endured the pain as he croaked out in a hoarse voice, "How are you so strong?"

His expression was filled with nothing but pure shock and disbelief.

It was a irrefutable rule that an Elementary Realm cultivator could not defeat a Sky Realm cultivator, regardless of how sturdy their foundation was, because no matter how dense their Elemental Qi was, it could never make up for the height advantage that Sky Realm cultivators possessed.

And now, Huang Qin felt that his beliefs were now toppling and crashing down onto the floor, because he had personally experienced the strength of Long Chen's strike.

It was dominating and sharp, carrying with it oppressive might that he was unable to dodge, nor defend against.

Thinking about the power of that strike made his hair stand on end in fright.

Not to mention Huang Qin, the entire crowd was had been totally dumbfounded by this incredulous scene.

When had they even seen an Elementary Realm cultivator ever defeat somebody in the Sky Realm before?

And the main thing was, when had they ever seen someone so young defeat a Sky Realm cultivator before?

Their eyes were literally popping out of their sockets as they stood up from their seats, even forgetting to breathe for a moment.

Xiao Tian and Feng Xin were also stunned by this fight.

"Senior Sister Feng Xin, if not for the fact that I am a boy, I would definitely consider chasing after him at this instance." Xiao Tian looked towards Feng Xin and stated with a serious expression on his face.

Feng Xin gave a sound of acknowledgment, but did not say anything else in reply.

"If he is already this strong while he is within the Elementary Realm, then how strong could he possibly be after breaking through to the Sky Realm?"

Mainly everybody was now having this thought within their minds as they stared towards the arena.

Even those disciples who were fighting in the other arenas at this moment totally paused their fights after hearing a loud burst of noise, and then realized what had happened.

At this moment of time, Long Chen did not pay the slightest attention to the gazes he was receiving, and simply began to sit down in cross-legged position.

After sitting down, he manipulated his Elemental Qi to impact that ever so fragile bottleneck that might as well not exist as this point, and it broke apart with a single shot.

Abruptly, the entire circumference 50 meters around Long Chen burst apart with a thundering explosion, as ripples of Elemental Qi surged about the air.

Huang Qin, who was within the circle of impact, was blown back yet again by the sudden force.

Because of the protective barrier covering the arena, the resultant ripples of energy were reflected back as they impacted the periphery of the barrier.

And right after making the breakthrough, Long Chen still sat there with his eyes closed, but his body slowly began to move up into the air.

Right in front of the crowd's wide eyes, Long Chen began floating up above the ground. An illusory halo covered his body, and paired with his immaculate features, this made him at the moment, look like a Son of God descending upon the mortal world, his presence blinding the world like a burning sun.

The crowd was awestruck by this scene, as they jaws all dropped down in realization of what Long Chen's actions meant.

Only those in the Sky Realm and above could fly. Those below were confined by the shackles placed upon them as humans, and could only live the most of their lives on the very earth itself.

Long Chen was floating above ground, which only meant that he had achieved a breakthrough to the Sky Realm, and was now a legitimate Sky Realm existence!

Most of the crowd did not know how high Long Chen's cultivation was, but only knew that his combat prowess was strong.

But after seeing him step into the Sky Realm, they only felt like their mind were blinded by white light as they visions were threatening to fall into darkness.

How could their faint hearts withstand such a blow to them?

Long Chen still continued his rise upwards, seemingly flying up to no end in a subconscious move. The crowd stared at him, dazed, until they heard a sound of impact, and a soft cry of pain.

After rising far too high, Long Chen had directly collided against the protective barrier that had not yet been removed yet, and his neck contracted as lost control on his subconscious flying movement, leaving him falling straight down onto the ground.

He was able to stop himself from falling flat on the ground, and rubbing his head, Long Chen awkwardly chuckled for a few times, before he strode towards Huang Qin who was still lying on the ground, and pulled him back up.

"Thanks for loosening my bottleneck and assisting me in my breakthrough to the Sky Realm." Long Chen slightly bowed as he expressed with gratitude.

"It's…its fine. This is what I should do." Staring at Long Chen, as well as observing the powerful aura emanating out of his body, Huang Qin felt like he shouldn't stay any longer, for he may not be able to take the impact of his blows.

First, Long Chen defeats him while in the Elementary Realm. Then, he breaks through to the Sky Realm right in front of his eyes.

He didn't know whether to laugh, or to cry, but still maintained his expressionless face with a slightly forced smile on his face, then send a word of farewell and quickly made his way out.

"Long Chen defeats Huang Qin to take the Rank 49th on the Heaven's Pride Ranking!" It was at this moment, that the Supervising Elder declared in a clear and crisp voice, disturbing the momentarily silence evoked by the surprise they were feeling.

A blustering mixture of applause and cheers rang out from the crowd, and no one stayed on seats, as all of them rose up to show off their exhilaration and awe.
