Chapter 2

Thea was happy beyond words. She had never thought that loving someone would feel so good. Thea for the first time of her life was not happy because of new clothes, nor because of some shiny jewelry or because of a new bag. She was happy, simply because she is in love.

Jason Roa, a man who she never thought she'd go crazy for. Thea did not expect that just because of him, she would go against her family's orders and even chose to throw away her last name, Selienta.

The Selienta is a family of Adventurers known for their famous and strong family members.

Her grandfather was a well-known Adventurer who had discovered Sector 14. It was said that he had to fight against a Transcended monster who had claimed Sector 14 as its territory. They have fought 4 whole days before the outcome was decided.

Her father was also famous for his achievements in the battle against the monsters. He had been given the title 'Fire God' because of his extreme fire techniques that we're able to burn monsters into ashes.

Her big brother, because of his recent achievement had also become famous. He had fought a battle with the 'Sword Saint' from Sector 3 who was known for being undefeated in the way of the sword. Her brother won and had now become the new 'Sword Saint'.

Thea is also famous because of her looks and strength. She was trained by her father at a young age and was doted by her grandparents. She lived the life of a princess until she was told that she would marry the son of one of his father's friends.

She was not against it at first but after meeting this so-called fiance of her, Thea was disgusted by his attitude. He looks down on everyone and even said that he will make her his concubine. And after hearing that, she told her father that she would never marry someone like him.

But it seems like her disagreement was not even heard by her father as their engagement was soon set. Her whole world felt like crashing unto her when she saw the cold look her father was giving her. Her brother was also looking at her without his usual caring smile, her grandparents did not even meet her after that time.

Her mother had died after giving birth to her, so she had grown up from her father's care and 'love'. But it appears that his 'love' was just a facade an everything he had told her was just a lie.

It may have been because her family did not think that she would run away or they are just confident that she would listen to everything they'll say. But she was able to leave without any problems, cutting her relationship with her family, Thea went to Sector 4.

That is where she meets Jason Roa. At first, they were just friends but as time goes by, she finds herself attracted to him. Someone she would have never noticed when she was still back at her family's protection. A man whose average looks did not stop her from loving him so dearly that she entrusted her future unto him.

A few years had passed by and their relationship had grown closer and closer to each other. It was not surprising as they spent every day together, from eating to hunting for monsters. Thea felt like, even though she was considered as a genius, she can still never reach Jason's level, even though his cultivation is lower than her.

It was also at that time did, Jason confessed his feeling for her and she ended up kissing him at the heat of the moment. Things escalated quite quickly as they both ended up in bed. Thea would have never thought she would do something so brave...and shameless.

Jason promised that he would give her a bright future and make her happy for the rest of his life. Thea smiled at those words and trusted him, even though things might not look too favorable to them.

He left to find new lands while leaving his promise of a bright future, their future.

A week later after that, she found out she was pregnant. It seems like he has not worn protection during their night. She decided to conceive the child as it was not a problem. She still has her savings and could even support them for three whole years. And she was glad about her decision.

She happily waited for his arrival and to see his surprise face after finding out that she was pregnant. But months passed by and there was still no news of him. She got worried but she had to keep her mentality healthy, for him and their baby.

A healthy baby girl was born, Thea named her Noelle. She had also told Jason's parents about their granddaughter and was happy to see her. She had asked them if they have news about Jason but they also have no news of him.

Thea tried to think positively but she was devastated when she saw the news about Jason's companions. They were attacked by a Transcended Monster and all of them died. Their bodies were unidentifiable, scratch that, they don't even have their bodies anymore. All that is left is their belongings and Thea recognizes one item among them.

It was the other half of the necklace Jason had given to her. Seeing the item but not the person wearing it, Thea cried her heart out. Jason's mother consoled her while also crying about the loss of her son. Thea was told to be strong for her daughter, she was even told that she could always go to them if she ever needs help.

Day by day, month by month, five years had passed by and the little Noelle is now an energetic three-year-old girl full of curiosity and innocence.

Thea had not spent a day without thinking about Jason, she could not even think of herself being with another man. She had decided to just devote herself to her daughter.

Jason stared at the woman he had been thinking all of these years, she still looks the same just as how he remembered. Her golden hair that reaches down to her waist while curving slightly at the end, her clear blue eyes that were like the biggest sapphires he had ever seen and her pinkish lips.

"J-Jason?" Hearing her trembling voice that seems to be questioning reality, his heart ached as he saw her expression. Confusion, surprise, hope, fear, etc.

"Thea..." His voice trailed off as he saw her tackle him into a tight hug. She was silent, so much that he thought that she had fallen asleep but the moisture he was feeling on his chest tells him that she's not.

"I'm sorry," Jason said as he hugged her back, patting her back with his right hand while stroking her hair with his left hand.

Thea looks up to him, staring at his eyes with her eyes wide in shock. "You're real?"

Even though she looked really cute right now, Jason still answered her question lightly. "Yes." He nodded.

"This is not a dream?" She asked once again.

Jason brought his right hand to her face, pinched her cheek which in return made her yelp, he then patted the part where he pinched her and said, "It's no a dream."

Thea's eyes moistened once again as she stared at her lover who was gone for five years. It seems like all the sufferings she had gone through all these years vanished in a blink of an eye. How his mere presence brought tranquility to her chaotic heart, a smile blossomed on her beautiful face as she went back to snuggling on his chest.

"That's good..." Thea then broke out like a dam as she cried all the feelings she was bottling in her heart. Jason had the two of them sit down as she cried in his arms, he felt pained seeing her cry like this and was determined to never leave her again.

It was not long until she stopped crying and was now sleeping with a soft smile on her face. Jason also smiled seeing her smile as he began walking towards her room, he recognized whose house they were staying at. He laid her down on the bed as he then covered her with the quilt.

"I will not leave again, I promise," Jason said while he kissed her forehead. The door to the room opened as he turned to look at who was it and was surprised to see a little girl with deep black eyes and short black hair was standing while hugging a rabbit stuffed toy. She was wearing a pink pajama with small chibi heads of a bear, just like him, she was also looking at him.

"Papa?" She asked him as she approached the sleeping Thea.

"Huh?" Jason was surprised. He can also see that he can feel his energy signature inside of her, the same as Thea's.

"Mama." She pointed at the sleeping Thea. The pointed at him, "Papa?"

Jason was not someone stupid as he immediately connected the dots. The little girl in front of him resembles Thea and him, also the fact that he can feel her energy being slightly similar to his and Thea's.

"Yes, Sweetie. I'm papa." Jason nodded as he crouches down to match her height. Staring at his large eyes which were also staring at him, he felt his blood screaming at him saying to hug the little girl.

The little girl hearing the man say she was his papa, immediately got close to him but she still keeps a small distance between the two them, as if she was hesitating.

Jason smiled at her and asked her, "What's your name sweetie?"

The little girl immediately answered him with her adorable voice, "Noelle."

"Hmm." Jason nodded. "Noelle, what a nice name you have. Do you want to hug papa?" He asked eagerly.

"En." Noelle nodded her little head as she hugged Jason's neck, Jason then wrapped his hands around her small body and stood up.

Staring at him with her innocent eyes, he kissed her forehead and smiled at her.

Noelle also smiled at him. She felt something different when hugging her mama which made her feel happy. Hugging her papa made her feel secure.
