TRACING

Sarah heard a buzzing sound in her ear "It's Ulanni...I think she is trying to contact me…" Sarah said sounding relieved.

Flint also let out a breadth.

"Ulanni, where are you.!" Sarah screamed through the mind link.

"Ummm behind you guys…" came Ulanni's voice.

"Ulan you know this is no time to joke around, we have to leave this place right now.." Sarah said, sounding urgent and not believing Ulanni in the slightest.

"But I am telling the truth..!" Ulanni argued.

Sarah reluctantly turned her head to look behind her, and to her surprise Ulanni was kneeling just behind them and blinking her eyes cutely.

Sarah rushed towards her and enveloped her in a crushing bear hug. "I was so scared, Ulan, …." Sarah said, sounding relieved.

"I'm sorry Sarah, I was..going to come back but I…" Ulanni started.

"You both can have your happy reunion later but we have to leave now, I think whatever it is they are summoning is about to arrive." Flint said intruding.

It was then the two color-headed girls noticed just how low the temperature had dropped.

"Right let's go.." Sarah answered and held onto Ulanni's hand tightly as if afraid she would go missing if she didn't hold her tightly enough.

Flint raised her head a bit, to peep at what was going on at the other side, The tree which just had a glow to it now had a very large opening in the middle, and inside of it was blood red...

Of course, Flint would recognize what it was it was a Portal leading to another realm, "But how…..only gods were said to be able to create a Portal except…..it's a forbidden spell..!"

Dragging her head back down, she glanced at the two girls, before she started to move, looking back occasionally to make sure they were right behind her.

They hadn't gone far when Flint heard a shark gasp, and whimpers of pain from behind her.

Turning back to look at her companions,

Sarah had her hand over Ulanni's mouth, to stop any sound from going out, while Ulanni was on the ground clutching her right leg from which blood was dripping from.

Looking around and spotting a raised slim root of a nearby tree it seems like Ulanni had kicked it and gotten herself injured.

But that was the least of her problems, the sharp cry of pain Ulanni had let out, seemed to have attracted the people that were performing the ritual.

Quickly rushing to Ulanni's side and hooking her arm through hers, she pulled her up making Ulanni cry out in pain, Sarah tried uttering soothing words to calm her down.

"We have to make a move for it, otherwise we are all going to be dead if we are found out by them.." Flint whispered to them, as she signaled for Sarah to help raise Ulanni's other shoulder up so they could both help her to move.

There was no time to take a proper look at Ulanni's injury, for each step they took Ulanni kept whimpering in pain.

Flint looked down to see that Ulanni was still losing much blood, It seemed like the injury was not a minor one as she had thought.

"Drop her, I need to tie her injury up, she is losing too much blood.." Flint whispered to Sarah.

"No, let's keep going, the worst would be getting caught by those people.." Ulanni whispered to them trying to overlook the pain which was consuming her entire calf.

"No, we need to tie it because the blood trail will lead them directly to us if they are coming this way .." At the end of Flint's sentence, there was the snapping of a twig from somewhere nearby.

Flint looked around and stretched her ears to determine where the sound came from. Snapping her gaze back to Ulanni, she went on her knees, and ripping out a large portion from her gown, she quickly bent it in two, and used it to tie the wound on Ulanni's leg.

Ulanni tried crying out and the pain that stabbed at her as Flint tied the injury, but Sarah already predicted it and had already slapped her palm over her mouth.

Now that she took a closer look at her injury, she found out that the injury was deeper than she had initially thought, there were still pieces of what had injured her sticking out of the wound.

Carefully taking her hand forward, she picked the ones she could see under the moonlight, with Ulanni moaning in pain, and sweat dripping down her face and neck and drenching the upper part of her gown.

Finishing up and standing to her full length, she took Ulanni's arm and put it over her shoulders with her hand circling her waist, they slowly made their way forward.

Flint suddenly stopped, causing Sarah to also stop and look at her questioningly, Flint just raised her nose in the air and sniffed the air, with her eyes darting to a particular direction, she heard another break of a twig.

"We are being traced.. we need to find a place to hide.." Saying this she darted her head around trying to look for a place where the three of them could fit in and hide.

But all that came into her sight were tall trees, small bushes, and large boulders which would do nothing in keeping them hidden.

And climbing the trees was out of the option, they wouldn't be able to climb a tree with an injured person in tow. "I can't find anywhere we can hide…" Flint mummured still looking around.

"What of that bush over there.." Sarah said pointing to their right.

Flint looked in the direction she pointed and accessed it. "Let's go,... it's better than standing out here in the open."

Saying this they all made their way to the bush. What Flint didn't tell them was that the people tracing them were more than two and they were catching up fast.

On getting to the bush Flint removed Ulanni's hand from her shoulders and said to Sarah. "Get, Ulanni settled down behind the bush, I will be back."

"But..where are you going…" Sarah asked.
