THE MASKED FIGURE

Sarah just stared at Ulanni from head to toe. "Who the hell told you that you are fat? all I see are your bones Ulanni, don't believe them okay.."

Sarah said reassuringly all the while patting Ulanni's head, with a smile on her face.

But it was wiped off as soon as it had come out by Ulanni's outburst. "How dare you call me thin Sarah?.." Ulanni screamed,

"No, that is not what I meant." Sarah tried explaining.

"You ..you called me bones Sarah.!!" Ulanni screamed louder.

"Hey shuuu..shuu, Ulan you are going to draw everybody's attention this way" Sarah tried desperately to calm Ulanni.

"Am not that thin, I have a lot of flesh on me look..look..." Ulanni said pulling on her flesh and desperately showing it to Sarah.

"Okay ..okay, I get it now you are very fat, I can see it now," Sarah agreed.

"Ahhhhhh, " Ulanni screamed and stomped away angrily.

Leaving a laughing Sarah behind with her back bent, and her hands on her knees.

"She is so easy to tease hahaha!" Sarah said trying to stifle her laugh.

Remembering that Ulan was walking away all on her own and it was dark already, she stopped laughing and made to go after Ulan, when a voice behind her made her stop in her tracks.

"Why laugh at her ...?" Sarah turned her back to the person behind her, On seeing who the person was, she

rolled her eyes "Can I say, None of your business!!"

Sarah said sassily and walked away from where Flint was standing without giving another glance her way.

Flint just stared at her, and shook her head, "It seems I can't understand humans.." She was about to turn back and head back to the sleeping quarter, but she changed her mind and decided to follow the two girls,

Moving as one with the darkness, like a trained knight, and she was indeed a trained knight.

As soon as Flint left her spot and headed after Sarah, the shadow close to where she had been standing shifted a bit, and standing there was a figure. "I was right she is from that realm..." Saying this the figure blended into the darkness again.

"Ulanni, Ulan," Sarah called out to her, but she got no reply.

Sarah kept trying to hear any buzzing sound, which usually came from Ulan as it seemed like her mind was always busy.

"Ulan, Ulan", she tried calling again but heard nothing. She looked around and noticed she was now moving away from the open area of the compound and into the trees, which were restricted but she knew Ulan went this way because the sand had footprints in it.

"I think I shouldn't have laughed at her,.." Sarah thought aloud. Then she noticed something in the sand, a bit far from where Ulanni's trail continued, there were some prints in the sand, going over to it she bent down, and tried examining it.

She felt someone kneeling beside her. "These are signs of struggle, I guess that the pink head followed them."

"What!... it means Ulan might be in danger, we have to go find her" Sarah said as she immediately stood up and rushed straight into the woods.

"How can you be so dumb, even the pink head was wise enough to go through the side and not rush straight in, you might as well tie a bell to your neck and alert them!"

Flint said as she walked over to Ulanni's trail and started following it. Sarah stood staring at her with anger in her eyes, she was going to retaliate but she pushed her anger down, "This was not the time.."

Moving to follow behind Flint and they both made their way forward. As they got deeper they heard screams from up ahead, Sarah made to keep moving forward but Flint held her hand and shook her head.

"We climb the trees, least we easily get spotted" Flint said and looked around to find the perfect tree, finding one she pointed at it to Sarah and started moving towards it,

Flint made her way up first, which seemed very easy from Sarah's perspective but when it was her turn, it seemed very impossible.

Now she just felt so small, she didn't want to ask Flint for help as she may just laugh at her.

Trying again but falling, she was about to give up and find somewhere to hide on the ground, when she spotted a slender hand hanging down in front of her face. "Comon we don't have all day blue ."

"I am not blue' and I am not hanging on to your hand, what makes you think you can drag me up." Sarah replied stubbornly.

"Well, the choice is up to you Blue." Flint said and tried withdrawing her hand.

"Wait, so you are just going to leave me down here? what if am caught, I would definitely tell them you are hanging up there," Sarah said with a smirk on her face.

"No, you are not going to tell on me" Flint told her with pity in her eyes.

"What makes you think I wouldn't.?" Sarah challenged.

"Well now is a good time to test my theory, someone is coming this way" Flint said.

Sarah was about to scoff at Flint's attempt to scare her, but stopped when she heard the sound of breaking twigs, She turned back to face Flint.

"You have to get me up, we don't know what is going on here and I don't want to get caught in it and most especially Ulanni." Sarah rushed to say.

"So pink head is named Ulanni.." Flint mused.

"Hey get me up first, they are getting close" Sarah hushed shouted at Flint, as she heard the footsteps now very close to where they were.

Flint reached down her hand again, and Sarah quickly gripped it.

"Hey !!" Sarah squeaked as she was suddenly pulled up by Flint like she weighed nothing.

Sarah landed on one of the many branches of the tree and tried balancing herself.

She looked down to see a masked figure walk some steps away from where she had been standing.
