Chapter 1: Unfamiliar Ceiling

These memories in my head... They are not mine.

They seem so strange.

Images of buildings that can reach the sky, airplanes that can carry mortals through the clouds, and buildings filled with people pressing squares on little black boxes flash through my mind.

I look into the mirror and seem to see myself from a whole new perspective.

The girl in the mirror is young, only 7 years of age.

She was a stunning young girl with striking gold eyes. Golden streaks went from the roots to the tips of her dark purple waist-length hair.

Victoria Adams.

The luckiest girl on the Southern Continent.

Or so they say.

Victoria had lived her entire life within the walls of her family's manor. Granted, this manor was huge and lavish. But it was still essentially an extravagant prison.

The young girl had to endure things that others would consider incredibly inhuman.

But with the influence of her parents, she thought that they were completely normal.

It wasn't weird that her parents would, weekly, shave her head, pull out her nails, cut her flesh and gouge out her eyes.

It was completely normal to help her parents implant things such as cameras, microphones, and poison into the bodies of hundreds of people.

It had been this way for as long as Victoria could remember.

Her parents were the owners of a very, very powerful organization called 'The Eye'.

It was just as it sounded: a guild that mostly focused on gathering and selling information to anybody about anything for a price.

There were 3 known side branches of The Eye.

This included 'The Shadow' which was an assassination organization.

There was also 'The Sun' which was an above-ground business, mainly restaurants, brothels, and various shopping centers. There, lots of money would be earned, plus lots of information would be collected.

The other branch was 'The Sea' which prioritized transportation and overseas trading, they provided many portals for long-distance travel that anybody was free to use. For the right price, of course.

Because the side branches all started with 'S' and the main branch was called 'The Eye' a common saying in the Souther continent was "Careful what you say, there are eyes everywhere."

They meant this literally.

The masters of The Eye were a couple that were god-knows how old named Olivia Adams and Mathew Adams.

They had one child: Victoria Adams. But she wasn't even their kid.

Victoria was a baby who had been sold by her real parents in exchange for an exorbitant amount of money to a merchant thanks to her unique traits.

From there she was taken to the largest illegal bidding house in the Southern Continent and put up for auction.

It was there that the Adams household had found her.

After winning the child, they gave her their last name. She was to be used as a political tool when she grew to 16 years of age by marrying a young noble, preferably a royal, of the Eastern Continent.

Her parents thought it to be the easiest way to infiltrate the Eastern Continent and expand The Eye.

Ever since then the Adams family has instilled great amounts of gratitude, admiration, loyalty, and fear into the young girl.

Reminding her of her responsibilities as a daughter of the Eye. Reminding her of the thankfulness she should feel for her parents finding her useful. Reminding her of the consequences of not following their orders.

Victoria had never thought any of this was wrong because this was all she had ever known.

The young girl would always try her best to please her parents.

Now that I was in her body, I knew that I would have to do my best to please them as well.

My new parents were incredibly powerful. As of yet, there was nothing I could do to get rid of them.

My best bet is to wait until I am 16, where I can escape once I am in the Eastern continent. Out of the grasp of the Eye.

From there I should go to a different continent, preferably the Western, where the place is covered in war and chaos, where my parents have no power.

Then ascension.

Only after ascension will I truly be free.

I look around this glorified birdcage disguised as a home and my eyes burn with determination.

I will grow as powerful as possible as quickly as possible. I will need this power in the Eastern continent.

Turning around, I run to a corner of my room. There, I sit in the lotus position and begin to circulate my spiritual energy.

Soon, small particles of spiritual energy gather around me, entering my spiritual veins through my fingers.

My new parents, the Adams, have always told me how unusually pure my spiritual energy is for somebody of the Qi Condensation realm.

Thankfully, the realms were easy enough to remember.

The first, obviously, was the Qi Condensation realm. Within said realm, there were 9 steps.

After that were the realms Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Violet. There were 4 steps in each.

After this was a small series of realms which are labeled as 'God Realms' one through three. But they were also called Bronze, Silver, and Gold Realms. There were 7 steps in these realms.

Victoria was in the 7th step of Qi Condensation. This was considered extremely talented.

After all, you could only begin cultivating your qi when you reach 7 years of age. Victoria's birthday was only 2 weeks ago.

I cultivate until night falls. Crawling into my large, fluffy bed, I feel both refreshed and exhausted.

I will be doing the same thing tomorrow, and the day after that.

On the third day of my transmigration, my parents will send for me.

It is the day that has been labeled as 'training day' where my parents have me help them implant things onto human bodies. They explain to me how it works, why it works, and where it would hurt the most if placed.

After that… they will have me give them things. Including my hair, my eyes, my nails…

These memories must be a gift. But from who? Whom do I thank for this enlightenment? Or are these memories actually a curse? A trick to get me to defy my parents. A test to see if I will stick to my loyalty.

Well, I suppose it doesn't matter what I think. As of now, even if I wanted something different, my parents are far too powerful for me to fight them. I was their slave before I got these memories, and am a slave after I received them.

At least, before, I was a happy slave...
