Devil's Washing Machine

"Are you kidding me?" shouted Ivan after listening to the story of Sofia and Myla.

"We are not kidding," Sofia said seriously.

Myla added, "Yes, it's true."

"If it's not a joke, I really don't know what a joke is," said Ivan with an expression of disbelief on his face. He looked at Sofia and Myla from the rearview mirror, and the two stared at him seriously.

After a while, Ivan was a little flustered. "It seems that you two are not joking, but you told me that the washing machine was alive and that it often ate children. That has a great impact on me, a person who has received advanced education and has a world view of materialism."

Sofia said impatiently, "Cut the crap. Drive fast. The maintenance worker may be in danger."

"Didn't you say that it only ate children?" Ivan asked, and his expression changed.

"Who knows?" Sofia sniffed. "Maybe it is so hungry that it just eats anything alive."

After hearing that, Ivan stepped hard on the accelerator, and the car sped up.
