Sid had thought about his options carefully and decided that selling the ore directly would be a better choice for him at the moment. While auctioning the ore might bring him more profit, he needed money urgently and couldn't afford to wait for a few more days. Additionally, there was always the risk of not getting the price he wanted at the auction or not being able to sell it at all, which would have been a huge setback for him.
Furthermore, selling the ores directly would give him the opportunity to negotiate the price with the buyer and perhaps even get a better deal than what he would have gotten at the auction. It would also be a quicker and more straightforward process, as he wouldn't have to go through the hassle of organizing and attending an auction.
In short, while auctioning the ore might have brought him more profit, Sid's urgent need for money and the risk of not being able to sell it at all made him decide to sell it directly to a buyer.
"I'll sell you the ores, but I want 1500 gold for them," Sid spoke.
"Deal" Gilmord agreed.
The attendant efficiently helped them complete the transaction, and he was handed 15 gold cards in exchange for the valuable ores. Each of these gold cards represented a sum of 100 gold coins. This method of payment was commonly used, as carrying a large number of gold coins was quite inconvenient.
After the transaction, Sid had more than enough to buy all the materials he needed for his weapon. In fact, he was left with over 500 gold coins. Excited by the prospect of his newfound wealth, Sid decided to browse the store for other interesting things to buy.
With a smile on his face and the weight of the gold cards in his pocket, Sid turned to Evangeline and asked if she would like to accompany him on his shopping expedition.
"Would you like to come with me and check out some other stuff?" Sid asked, looking at her with anticipation.
Evangeline happily agreed and the two of them began to explore the store. They wandered through the aisles, examining the various items on display.
As they walked, Evangeline couldn't help but notice how excited Sid seemed to be interested in everything. His eyes darted from one item to the next, and his smile never faded. It was clear that he was thoroughly enjoying his newfound wealth.
He approached another female attendant with a smile.
"Excuse me, do you happen to have any other interesting items for sale?" he asked.
The attendant smiled back at him.
"Of course! We have a variety of items in stock. Is there something specific you're looking for?" she replied.
Sid thought for a moment before responding.
"Well, I'm not quite sure. I was just wondering if there was anything unique or special that caught your eye," he said with a curious tone.
"I see. Well, we do have some rare items that may interest you. Follow me," she said as she gestured for him to follow. The attendant chuckled.
They walked through the store, and Sid couldn't help but feel amazed by the different types of equipment and materials on display. The attendant pointed out some of the more unique items, such as enchanted crystals and rare metals.
"Wow, these are amazing!" Sid exclaimed as he examined the crystals. "What do they do?"
"These particular crystals are infused with elemental elements. They can be used to enhance armor or imbue weapons with elemental properties," the attendant explained.
Sid was fascinated by the idea of imbuing weapons with elemental properties.
"Do you have any other elemental materials?" he asked.
The attendant nodded. "We have a few other rare metals and gems that can be used for that purpose. Would you like to see them?"
Sid nodded eagerly, and the attendant showed him several other rare materials. They continued browsing the store for a while, and Sid ended up buying a few more things with the remaining gold he had. He couldn't wait to start crafting with his new materials.
But as Sid and Evangeline were enjoying their time, a voice shattered their pleasant mood.
"So your father is a free man now. How lucky that the Summer Family is gone, so you can walk with your head held high again," a beautiful woman with golden hair and blue eyes mocked Evangeline. Despite her beauty, she exuded an air of arrogance of a spoiled noble lady.
Sid noticed her but decided to ignore her, focusing on Evangeline instead.
"Who's this, Evangeline?" he asked, curiosity getting the better of him.
"Oh, I should be asking that question to you both. A poor girl like you loitering around this establishment is a sore sight."Emilia sneered
Evangeline's eyes narrowed at Emilia's words, but she maintained her composure.
"I'm here with Sid to buy some materials. Is there a problem with that?"
"Oh, you're with another apprentice again. How quaint."Emilia smirked and turned to Sid
"You should be careful or you might end up like the last guy," she added
Sid clenched his fists, feeling his temper rise.
"Watch your words, madam. There's no need to be rude."
Emilia laughed.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot that I was talking to the lowly daughter of a former prisoner and a mere apprentice. You should be grateful that I'm even acknowledging your existence."
Evangeline's eyes flashed with anger, and she took a step forward.
"Don't you dare talk to me like that? I may not come from a rich family, but I have something that you can never buy - integrity and kindness."
"Please, spare me the sermon. You and your little apprentice friend here are nothing compared to me and my family. We have power, wealth, and influence. You're just a nobody." Emilia rolled her eyes.
As the verbal exchange between Emilia and Evangeline grew more tense, a figure stepped forward from behind Emilia. He was a tall, muscular man wearing a suit of shining silver armor with a helm that hid his face.
"I suggest you leave, commoner," he growled in a menacing tone. "Or else, you'll face the consequences."
