Trainees Versus Demons

The train doors closed and the engine started reviving. A rainbow grew from under and it started to move. The Bifyre express was made of both technology and magic powered by the largest Altaen crystal ever discovered it was built by the dwarfs and elves.

Ron looked through the glass window and saw the demons whirl their heads around trying to see where they had gone after the station lights went back on. Some demons looked more humanoid than monsters, their bodies looked burnt and their flesh was exposed. He could say naked but now they just looked like burned human-shaped flesh. The other demons looked like giant dogs on fire.

One demon identified his face and immediately screeched to signal the others, Ron quickly pulled his face from the window, but it was too late he had been seen. The demons ran after the train and some of them started to jump onto the train's sides.

They heard a loud thud when the demons grabbed onto the sides and started to crawl.

"What's that?" Nathan jumped from his seat after hearing that. He looked up. The thudding was getting louder. Guess the battle was just beginning, the sun was just rising, meaning Ellen's god powers couldn't work at this point.

They all stood up.

Ron looked around and noticed they were the only ones in the car, "Um… guys, how come we are the only ones on this train."

"It's a trap, they knew we were inside," Ellen said with wariness in her voice and then pulled a feathered arrow from her bag. She quickly summoned her bow and placed the arrow in between. She faced the door at the end like she knew where the bad guys would pass there to get in. She pulled the string and prepared to shoot.

"Djanzir!" a man's voice shouted from the other side and a beam of light suddenly smashed the train door open and a swarm of demons ran through.

Ellen shot her arrow and multiplied into five more each striking a demon straight through the head without missing. She summoned her Altaen crystal that materialized into a quiver of light arrows. That she started to fire continuously each smashing through a demon without missing. It's like the arrows were listening to her each time she was about to fire.

Nathan summoned his crystal. And materialized into a sword made of light, he advanced and slashed through some humanoid-looking demon. They would turn to ash once the sword went through them. He cut through most of them until they were no more coming in. He stopped dramatically and faced the entrance.

"Bravo!" the man from the other side slowly clapped after seeing most of his demons defeated. His metal shoes made a loud sound when he stomped them on the floor with each step.

The dust settled and the first thing that showed was the golden spear that he had in his left hand--Nathan took a few steps back after seeing that spear, his eyes widened like he couldn't believe what he was looking at.

The man slowly walked forward and finally showed his face. It was long and handsome with perfectly shaped cheekbones, bright blue eyes that resembled Ron's, long black hair, and dark blue skin. He was in a long black trench coat and was taller than all of them. Down, he wore big metallic shoes like those you find army men wearing almost every time.

"I heard that the students of Brighton Academy are powerful, and I am impressed by the way." the man began. He sounded mischievous and excited at the same time. "I can't wait to kill you," he said then shot a blast of energy from his hand that hit Nathan and sent him flying and slamming through the end of the train car.

Ellen wasted no minute and started shooting arrows at the man, but a huge demon appeared in front of him and took hits for him. It had horns and its entire body was the size of a sumo wrestler and was made of rocks and magma the face was wolfish in terms of looks. After taking the hit, it roared and advanced for Ellen. It was about to punch her when Ron jumped in between with his sword and swung it like a professional baseball player about to hit the ball. It was a clean diagonal slice from the creature's shoulder and through its body.

The man's eyes widened after what he had just seen. That was his toughest demon and someone had just cut through it like it was some rat in a lab.

The monster vanished and he finally got a glimpse of who had just done that. To his surprise it wasn't the godslayer, it was a kid holding a golden sword in his hand. The boy's eyes were blue and they were gazing at him with a murderous stare.

"Impressive…" he muttered, then gave out a creepy smile like he was mad.

Ron's entire mind was blank like someone had flipped a switch and had turned off his humanity. The look on his face was terrifying, as he held the sword with intention. All he felt was the burning love of battle and war. His body felt like he could do anything a normal person would refer to as impossible. He was a god and he loved it.

"Leave this to me Artemis," he spoke with authority and Ellen immediately knew what was happening. She didn't say a word at all. She grabbed her bag and ran to check on Nathan. Leaving him and the mysterious man facing each other.

"I never knew gods could be kids," the man spoke. He was about to continue when Ron advanced and swung his sword. The man put his spear in the way of his attack and blocked the first strike.

"You talk too much," Ron said in a very serious and haunting tone. He punched the man with so much force, but he barely moved a distance.

He pointed the spear's end at Ron then yelled, "Djanzir!" and a bright beam of a light shot of it and hit Ron with so much energy and that pushed and blasted him through the train doors and almost outside if he didn't let go of the blade and hold onto a seat.

His human body was starting to fail him. The blast wasn't fatal, but it was strong enough to burn his arm, he could only imagine how it could have gone if he hadn't put his sword to block most of that blast.

"Ron!" Ellen ran up to him with Nathan following her. She looked at him and helped him up.

"He's too powerful." he now sounded normal and the terrifying look was gone. "He's not working for Nightrise," he said.

'We need to get off this train…" Ellen sounded confused. She was sweating, breathing heavily, and was rolling her eyes left and right trying to make a plan before the man comes in and kills them. Demons then broke through the roof and crawled in. They were officially outnumbered.

~the sky suddenly roared and dark clouds grew above the train. They all looked up and a wave of lightning fell from the sky, destroying every demon that was on the train both inside and outside.

The force of the impact was vicious and was strong enough to throw Ron, Nathan, and Ellen off their feet and the lightning hit them unconscious.

A man came down with the lighting. He landed on one knee like a superhero. Sparks of lightning crackled on his cloak and the massive hammer held in his right hand. He was half the height of his opponent.

He stood up and faced the man holding the spear, "Hello Felios." he spoke.

Felios' face turned red after his name was mentioned. "This is no place for a coward. Djanzir!" He yelled, but it was clear he was terrified of the other man.

His spear shot out a blast of energy. The other man just spun his hammer and it created a shield of lighting that reflected Felios' attack and the blast ended up cutting through the entire train car.

"Curse you, Thor, do you know how much the Giants are paying me for that boy?" Felios' eyes were now red and veins had popped on his forehead.

"Then sell my father's spear, I am pretty sure that will make some good money for you."

Felios grunted while staring at Thor. His face was covered with a cloth and he could only see his blue eyes, which were enough to scare him. He then gave up and sighed, "Fine, I get them another time." he said then tapped the spear down and vanished.

Thor remained looking and then turned to the children lying unconscious on the floor. He hit his hammer down and the sky opened up. The entire car they were on was then ripped from the train and carried away by a huge band of lighting bolts.
