Biting the Hand That Feeds Part 3

It was like everything went in slow motion.

Axel looked up and saw 4 red eyes looking right back at him. The first one to make a move would-

"Perish!" The head of the beast darted towards Axel in an effort to consume him. It's long necks allowed them to reach a decent distance behind them, so getting to Axel should be an easy feat.

"You first!" Axel retorted.

< Spirit Step > + < Putrid Wings >

Axel combined the speed boost of Spirit Step with the aerial boost of Putrid Wing in order to run toward the incoming head and then go airborne at a diagonal; this allowed him to completely dodge the attack as well as mount one of its 3 necks.

He used Spirit Step to run along the neck of the hydra while he dragged his sword behind him, leaving a deep trailing cut in his wake.

"AHHHH!" The creature screamed as its neck twisted and writhed in the air. Blood sprayed in every direction from the long gash on its neck.

"Shittttt!" Axel yelled out as he was knocked off and into the air.

All three heads quickly went to converge on Axel while he was off balance in the air. "You can only run from me so long, underworld trash."

"Huhhhh?!" Axel exclaimed as he reared his sword across his body. "Who said I was running??"

< Activate ability: Nightmare Blade Rush >

The edge of his blade was dripped in blacked energy as he released a slashes at the incoming heads.

Sizzling cuts ripped over the flesh of the beast as the heads took the brunt of the attack. While slashing, Axel was also using the ability of his blade and extending it out to have more of a reach. So it was like a mini tornado of blades had erupted and Conquest was catching the business end of it.

"Grahhh!" The heads retreated away as their faces had been marred by Axel's quick attack.

"I'm not done yet!"

< Putrid Wings >

He wasted no time in seizing the opening that he had pried open with his ingenuity. Using Putrid Wings, he used the air as a take off point and burst towards the middle head as it reeled back.

"I have played with you long enough." Conquest spoke as Axel rushed to cleave one of its heads.

Axel grinned as he readied his blade to cleave one of the heads off. "Tell yourself what you want! But bring me that HEAD!"

However, the head on the right had recovered and struck when Axel was focused on the middle one. It had swallowed him whole!

"Foolish human. Always looking forward but never anywhere else." The head that ate Axel went completely straight so gravity would force Axel deeper down its throat.

"I know you're still alive in there...but this isn't a normal beast. All you'll find in there is blistering holy energy that will burn you to the bone."

As it spoke, there were tiny smoke trails coming from the cuts that Axel had inflicted only moments ago. They were laced with unholy energy, so the fast acting healing that the beast had was heavily slowed down.

"Now, while he disintegrates, I will finish with razing this world of all humans and any trace of their existence. I don't care if I end up getting banished as long as I finish this war. My honor will live-"

The beast stopped mid-sentence as it could feel something tearing at its insides. "G...ga...filthy human, know when to die!" Conquest snarled as the head that had swallowed Axel was starting to convulse. There was a large clump forming at the base of it's neck as it appeared to be choking.

< Nightmare Blade Rush >

A series of deadly swings from Axel's blade had completely severed the neck from the rest of the beast and sent it flying to the ground. In a burst of blood and energy, Axel emerged from the beast's body and landed on its back.

He surprisingly looked completely unharmed and still wore the same excited grin that he had before he became dinner. "Well, that's definitely a first for me. But, never leave home without your barrier right?"

The Beast fell down to a knee as pain coursed through its body. "H-how dare you!!"

One of the heads leaned over and blasted a fiery wave of energy at the open wound.

With the wound cauterized, it turned its attention back to Axel who stood upon its back. Except, now his sword had grown almost 3 stories high. There was energy literally coursing around the blade from the amount of power Axel was currently pouring out through the weapon.

"Sorry, I know we're supposed to draw out the big fights buttttt I'm kinda in a rush to get to the whole King of Gods thing. So this is bye!" Axel swung down his unnecessarily gigantic sword with the intent to split the beast right down the middle.

< Reminder, you need to find the connection point to- >

"Shhh, I'm doing a thing here! You always interrupt during my things!"

The air could be seen physically bending around the blade as it swung down to pass unholy fury upon Conquest.

What in a God's name am I witnessing?? Conquest thought to himself. How can someone of that stature wield a blade of this size so easily? It literally makes no sense when you think about it! But..it's clearly reality. However, I'm afraid you're mistaken if you think that's the extent of what it takes to defeat a God. Such a human mistake.

Axel's blade sounded like a train as it ripped through the air. Every vein in Axel was bulging as his muscles were on full display - he was definitely not one to skip arm day when training.

"dddddiiiIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Axel, the self-proclaimed hero, shouted.

"You are millions of years too early to challenge me, slayer!!"

Those words were the war cry of a God that no longer would submit himself to such a shameful defeat.

Right before the blade hit its body, it suddenly vanished in a cloud of black smoke. Leaving Axel and his mountain of a sword with nothing to stand on.

"Wait, what?" Axel's blade cut through thin air. With such force and weight of the blade swing, the momentum caused Axel to go into a fast vertical spin. One that he was finding very difficult to stop. He fell towards the ground as an oversize spinning wheel of death.

The blade impacted the ground and ripped up an entire block of a street in the process. The powerful gust that ensued from the impact had snuffed out all the flames in the general area but brought down several more buildings in the process.

The beast reappeared back in the same place.

"Beast of Apocalypse, Shadow Reiner." Conquest spoke. "While its attacks are truly deadly, its most impressive skill is that it can become pure shadow upon command. Foolish boy...I only let you have your fun."

A small chuckle could be heard from Conquest.

"But I wonder if you're even able to hear me anymore after that."

On top of one of the last buildings not completely on fire, two figures stood atop it as the events unfolded.

"We're not helping him, right?" Jayden spoke as he had a bandage around the left side of his head that covered his eye as well.

Iris let out a small sigh, her arm around Jayden's neck as her neck had been bandaged, but now also had a hurt leg. "I don't think we have much choice at this point, Jayden."
