The lab isn't that huge of a place, but it was extremely detailed and complicated. With how many ratnas that present in this lab, it took hours for us just to search the midnight sun-colored ratna, even with the help of both dragons.
"Huft… that took way too much longer than I expected." Said Hada feeling relieved with us finally finish with the objective.
"What do we do now, My Prince? Stay here and rest?" Asked Anna.
"Sounds like a good idea, it's not like we can't go anywhere else reminded by how dangerous it is at night here on Kaput Island."
I walked to one of the windows which only existed on the south side of the laboratory, to gaze outside where pitch-black night resides.
"Oh, I can roll with that. Chiya! Can you take out the sleeping bags from your dimension, please? A good night's sleep is what all of us needed right now." Hada said to the ashen lady
"On it! I'll lay them here on this open space."
As Chiya went on with her sleeping bags. I continued in my nonchalant activity which is gazing at nothingness on the outside.
If I wanted to, I can turn on my heat vision. An ability of Genka that allows us to see the difference in temperature of our surroundings. This helps us track down enemies and ambushes. But looking through it gave me a darn headache with how striking colorful everything is.
Although right now… even without a heat vision, the darkness on the reigning night outside of this lab, started to turn into a brighter red. A brighter maroon red.
"What the—"
*Boom!*
Powerful chaos energy suddenly explodes right at the window I'm peeking from, along with an impact enough to shake the whole building.
Everything around the front of this lab is now covered in chaos fire, a fire shaded with maroon red. But instead of burning whatever they are attached to, they destroyed those things' solidity and stability.
"My Prince! My Prince!? Are you alright!?" Anna quickly ran towards me while panicking, scared of my condition.
I fell on my behind above the cold floor, gasping for air. Even with all my breathing techniques, I can't overcome how shocked I was. Never come to my mind that one day I'll be terrified by a fire.
"Relax, Anna. The only thing damaged about him is mentality right now. Nothing on this exhibit will be able to pierce this lab's wall…"
As Hada said that, every single one of us there quickly glance at the wall and window where I was attacked. The chaos energy destroyed the paint stability to the point where it melted.
And the wall showed its true self.
"Ah… of course…"
The inside was shaded in dark purple, and its glow devoured every light around it. This whole building was made out of darkness.
"So we're safe, right? They can't destroy His Holiness power, right?" Said Hazana nervously.
"I think so… I've heard from my father that's the Musician's power is so pure, even the chaos purge can't unstabilize it." Chiya replied.
"Huft… is that so?" I felt relief after hearing that, and can finally catch up with my breathing. "Then I guess I might just take a glance at our offender."
I stood up and walked back to where I was before. I still can't believe that the window glass was actually painted to hide its purple shade.
The rest of the team— except for the dragons of course— followed me to also satisfy their curiosity. It's not every day that we can have access to see danger fully protected like this as if we're a tourist.
"Praise the cold wind, brother… if not for this wall, I'm pretty sure you're already dead right now."
Through the window, we saw a giant feline beast with fur painted in charcoal black, roaring to the sky. And maroon wave bursting out of its mouth.
Two shawls are attached to its mane, and on it written chaos runes with the color glowing as if they're a stream of magma in the middle of the night. Striking red and bright.
*Grumble!*
All of the sudden, the lab went shaking. However, we're left confused since we didn't see the feline beast or any other giant sending projectiles toward us.
Then we lower our view, and we finally saw the new thread that has been bothering us.
"Are they the same Uhndak?" Asked Chiya. It was their cannons that shook the lab.
"So it is the third option then? Where they hated humans and wanted us to perish?" Anna pointed to what I said before about whether they'll chase us or not.
"Pretty much." I retorted.
*Grumble!*
The Uhndaks outside continue to siege us with their cannons without realizing that their advance is pretty much useless against the sturdiness of this laboratory.
I turned my view back to the other side of the lab, and I saw none of the lab pieces of equipment were disturbed by the raging attack, even with the whole building shaking as if there's an earthquake.
*Zapp!*
Out of nowhere a strip of purple light struck down one of the Uhndak's cannon crew. It was a shot made by the Living Dead in an attempt to kick them away from this laboratory which they're guarding.
I saw the guard start lining up in formation, armed by long black guns on their hand.
Those guns are a lot different than the firearms Genka used since they shot dark energy instead of bullets. So it's more like a magic wand than a traditionally explained gun.
*Zapp! Zapp! Zapp!*
The living dead barraged their enemies with dark energy, and one by one the Uhndaks began to fall.
The dark energies have a weird mechanism on how it killed its enemy since from the outside it doesn't look like there's any wound painted on the shot Uhndak's body.
The Uhndaks then redirect their shot from the lab to the lined-up Living Deads.
Chaos-coated cannonballs start raining down the undead bodies, trampling them everywhere, quickly butchered the solidity of their formation, and so do their limbs.
"That's… a quick lose." I thought.
"No, wait… I don't think the fight isn't anywhere near the end." As soon as Hada said that, I returned my gaze towards those Living Deads.
He was right, the fight is far from over, or at least from the Living Deads end up losing. Their bodies were periodically repaired, and so does their limbs were reattached.
"You know, I'm thinking of making some popcorns, anybody?" Offers Falisha.
