Entering the Desert

"Look up front! I can see mountains of sands!"

955 hrs, we finally reached the border of Kendang and Kecapi province. It was separated by stone walls from Kendang's North West Beach to South East Beach, all placed above the line where dirt turns to sand.

The stone walls are made out of sandstone, meaning they blend exactly with the color of the desert. On it stand guards thousands of Kaoma, filling every spot on the wall, giving not a single weak spot for the Void to infiltrate an advance.

Oh and I'll be honest, I really dig Kaoma's shade of uniform, and the way they designed it, the desert one at least. It's pitch black and red maroon, with their turbans coated fully in Chaos aura, unendingly dance around like a waving flag.

Only their eyes were shown in this uniform, and they were painted like a rose, so red and enchanting. Their charcoal-like skin only complimented it even further.

"Hm? Why are we stopping?" As much as intriguing the desert was, Chiya's more curious with our convoy suddenly going idle. Her eyes shifted from every hole the four windows resided in Revian's room.

"Our escort probably requesting an entry permit from the guard right now," I replied, staying calm in my seat.

"Huh? What for?" She turned bewildered.

"Because they're not the part of our kingdom and vice versa," I explained.

"But… aren't some Kaoma a citizen of our kingdom?" She's not satisfied with my answer.

"Correct, but that doesn't change the fact that we're about to pass other country's territory." Can't blame her, the Survya could easily trespass any city up there in the sky because of their magic tunnel and network. "Besides, this system profit us more, since there are lots of Kaoma wanted to live near us, to get closer access to the protection of the Guild."

"Hmm… I see." The lady was pleased, Hazana also nodded profusely as if she just learned so much from that conversation.

"Oh, looks like Sir Asger's done with his business." We all saw the Vhisawi walk out of the guard's room inside the gate, heading back to his cart with some paper in his hand.

The convoy was now ready to continue its journey.

Speaking of which, the class for today was already ended for me and Althea.

None of us took smithing, so we're pretty much free until the end of lunch break at 1300. After that is T&D which was taken by Revian. Then another 1-hour break. At 1600 is energy, Hazana took it. After that is sunset break.

For the night class, there is cooking at 1900. Falisha was supposed to take that course, but whether she would attend it or not I didn't quite know. She came for the biology this morning, so I expect her to also do the same.

And the last course is dancing. Anna and Chiya would 100% attend it. I'm actually quite curious about how all of this practical course will be held through an online class. Cause I'm sure situations like this won't be just one and only since we'll have more missions ahead of us throughout our college year.

"We're back on the move, baby!"

As Chiya shouted it, the convoy was now back on track. The gate is now opened wide for us, the entrance is quite large since it was designed so a high amount of troops can be transferred from one side to the other.

At first, I thought the Talaria Cart would get slower since the desert sands are supposed to be quite soft and deep here in Kecapi. But, after having a glance at how our escort cart performed, I saw the small wings on their Talaria's leg began to flap.

It doesn't make them fly like the wings of Pegasus does, nevertheless, it made their footing light, they could easily course through the sand without any trouble.

Meanwhile for us… Revian and Althea dipped half of their body inside the sand until all of their legs were no longer in sight. Then they move just like a boat cutting through waves of the sea.

Truly a ride fit for a king! Or a crown prince… hehe.

"Ooh, it smells dry… but refreshing!"

Completely devoured by the atmosphere, the girls were putting their heads out of the window to get a better feel and view of the desert sands.

It was, however, a really bad idea.

"Pff! Pfft! Argh! I got sands in my every hole!"

The desert is quite windy, and sand flew everywhere across the air, those Kaoma aren't wearing turbans for nothing.

"Stay inside, or you'll damage your eyes," I asked them, and they quickly headed back in. "Well if that happened we have lots of healers though."

"Sorry, I'm good." Chiya shook her hands. "This is not the type of suffering that I would sign up for."

Well, I guess even a masochist has a preference.

"We'll buy some turban later at Tano Birong, so stay inside until then," I suggested.

"Oh! Oh! Yes! I can't wait to visit Kecapi's Grand Bazaar! My friends back at the tribe said that even the Black Market hasn't owned most of the stuff the Kaoma's are selling." Chiya got a bit overexcited there. Even her face started becoming red.

"Me too! I wanted to turn my bed into my comfy throne." Hazana shakingly hugged her bag, imagining the softness of her soon-to-be new cushion or blanket or whatever.

"Right, I've heard a lot about the quality of the silk they have there. Might as well buy one too." I smiled a little.

"Do you want to turn our bed comfy too, My Prince?" Anna curiously asked.

"Of course, you've felt Mother Adeline bed too right? Every side of her bed is coated in comfort!" I happily replied.

"Mmhmm, couldn't agree more."

"Do you bring enough money, Your Highness?" A finance topic suddenly spurted out of Chiya's mouth.

"I guess enough is the correct term, yes." I didn't wanna specify.

"Aren't your family filthy rich, Your Highness? Your father's a King and Guild's top member! That's sounded like a fountain of gold…! Or Gria." I guess money too will thrill someone affiliated with the black market. Their whole lives are bound to it.

"Yup, but I'm not a spoiled child." I humbly retorted. "Besides, they took too much of a space in my luggage. I don't appreciate seeing those layers and coins ruining my bags."

"Hehe~ that's why you need a Scientist to handle your money."

Ah… she ain't wrong though. Father always said that most of his team's finance is managed by the Fui Malianis (Support) who act as their treasurer. Money at home is also being managed by Mother Adeline.

Damn personal dimension is too convenient…
