It had been about three days since Efic basically robbed the academe of all of its knowledge and he was currently enjoying Some rest and relaxation in the form of a nice bubble bath. Getting out of the bath he got dressed and went out into the kitchen to make himself a snack. After that, he sat down on one of the fine leather chairs before sighing "Yep, I don't like this." as he said this he got up and walked over to the training room to check up on how the island was going.
Sitting down in a basic medication pose for no reason other than it felt right he started to check up on his foundation. So far it was all going well, the island's first stage had finished, and the first pair of buildings were being built, so far the outline of them had been finished and the general structure was being built, even though he called it 'building' it was more accurate to call it materializing, as the energy he absorber and produced was just being used to form the buildings out of thin air.
If there was anything he wasn't happy about it was the fact that the island and the water around it was barren, there was no grass of life to be seen anywhere, sure there was water and the ground was perfect for life to grow on, it just wasn't there. There was just barren ground. With a quick check-up, he realized why that was, there wasn't any 'life'.
Or more accurately 'vitality', in other words, it was dead. Luckily this was easy to fix. One of his sub-minds had been researching the 'formations' section of his memory library, or mind vault for short. And there were perfect formations for this problem and more.
The first one he was going to use was a modified healing formation, it's purpose was to take in energy and use it to heal, but it on its own didn't make vital energy, just boosted it. So he would add two others to make a set of formations, the first was a modified necromancy formation that would take in energy and convert it into false life, the vital energy of the undead, it should be mentioned that Eric used both false life and vital energy. And a modified 'purification' formation that would take in a large amount of false life and use it to make normal vital energy.
That vital energy would be refined and enhanced by the 'healing' formation before being fed to the necromancy formations to make a massive amount of false life that would be purified as the cycle started again. Every cycle would just under double the amount of vital energy made, once it reached a point that the formation couldn't handle it the excess vital energy would be released into the 'world'.
But as he started making the formation he ran into three problems. One, the formation was surprisingly complex for just a simple job. Two as he thought about it more he realized that as the 'world' got he would need more and more complex formations to sustain it. And three he would need to add more and more energy to sustain the 'life engine'.
For problem one, rather than taking it the easy way he was going to do it the hard way, as always. Instead of just taking his time and figuring out the formation he was going to make a 'computer' to do it for him. Summoning some of his stored flesh and souls he started to tinker with them. After turning into a half lich Eric decided 'fuck, full body modding'. The purpose of the 'computer', or more accurately his new brain, was to turn his skill {enhanced cognition} into a part of his {custom physique}.
Instead of using electrical signals the brain and in turn, his entire nervous system would use minute pulses of energy to send signals, energy, unless given form, had not set state, and therefore had no set properties. Therefore, he could give it any form or property that he wanted. By using a simple system formation he would give the energy in his nervous system the properties of 'speed' and 'control' allowing Eric to not only have greater control of his movements but also make all of his thoughts, conscious or unconscious, to be much faster.
Adding the finishing touches to his new brain which looked like a small ball of flush, about the size of a baby's fist, Eric summoned Wolf in to form of a knife and put the top of his head off before placing the 'ball' on his original brain. As the ball touched his brain it began to fuse with it and spread all over his nervous system. It should be said that he couldn't feel this as his nerves weren't actually being 'harmed', just changed. Grabbing the top of his head and putting it back on the cut healed perfectly, as if it didn't happen. As he stood up.
Back to the problems with his 'world', thinking about it with his new brain it was pretty simple. As something with vital energy grew, be it a plant or animal, it would produce more vital energy naturally. This vital energy would be used in everyday life for everything from just existing to healing a wound. Something 'living' would 'die' when its vital energy ran out. The reason things died of 'age' was because wounds would naturally accumulate over time, these wounds would slow and eventually stop the body from producing vital energy.
Animals would typically gain these wounds faster as just by moving would form these 'wounds' even though billions of these kinds of wounds would be needed to kill something. Plants, on the other hand. not only made much more vital energy but also gained their 'wounds' much slower than animals, and in rare cases could heal these wounds allowing them to theoretically live forever. Eric planned to use a very small amount of the vital energy made by each plant to fuel the life engine. As more life formed there would be more fuel for the engine, and the engine got more fuel to make life. Forming a never-ending cycle on Top of a never-ending cycle.
