Chapter 12

"One gold coin". The man just repeated again.

"Fine here.". Aeger tossed a gold coin and took the sword. The gold shined bright enough that everyone around just looked in his direction. "Remember, there isn't only one way of cultivating. You have cultivated your soul till now. Try the body or the mind. It may be difficult but you will reap great harvests."

Aeger left the scrap yard. He arrived at the blacksmith's. He went up to the counter and requested for some iron, and a room to rent for a few hours. He was planning to repair his new weapon. After being assigned to a room, he took out the sword. He slowly caressed the fuller. He took some water and cleaned the blade. With every clean, the sword seemed to shine a bit brighter. After getting all the stains out, he started smelting the iron and covered up the broken parts of the sword.

He didn't just patch up the sword. Using a technique learnt from Hephestus himself, he slowly merged the iron he had added to the rest of the sword. It was complete now. As it was a spiritual sword, it had a beast soul - the ice lion. It was shining with a blue light. Aeger looked satisfied. He purchased a scabbard at the store and sheathed the blade. He controlled the energy that it was releasing so as to not gather attention.

He left for the training ground, as Olivia was still training there. When he got there he was greeted by an unconscious girl. Her face was covered with tears. Aeger understood that she had been greeted by the heart tribulation. He picked her up and took her to the inn, which was close by. He placed her on the bed and went to the pharmacy to look for some herbs. He prepared a thick, pungent concoction that he added to the bathtub, and he placed her in it.

A few hours later, Olivia got up, surprised to be in the bathtub. She got up, and saw a change of clothes on the bed with a note, telling her to meet Aeger when she woke up. She quickly changed and went to the other room, where Aeger was quietly meditating. The moment she entered, he opened his eyes.

"How are you feeling? Just feel your body right now and you'll understand what today was all about."

"Yes, master. My body feels as light as a feather! I can move much faster now, and I feel like I can lift an elephant."

"That is common. Till now, you were bound by a mortal body, and it shackled you with restraints. But now, you are in a better shell. You can cultivate faster. You will be able to fight better, you will be much better than a joke of a cultivator these sects call talents. Forget all that now. You go get some rest. You've had a taste of what was coming. We will continue this training for the next two weeks."
