REVENGE MODULE

I was bedridden for a couple more months after that. I never left my bed, with the exception of going to my dad's funeral. Mom did the usual 'grieving widow' scene. Crying, moody, the lot. It was all an act. Because when the lawyer came to explain everything, my mom flipped. She cursed me out, cursed Ricky out, and stormed off. My dad was smart to have transferred the name to mine. Terrible choice in women though, but otherwise a smart man.

For a couple months, the ELAR system never sleeps if I didn't. I said it, and I'll say it again. The ELAR was amazing. It had even a module for revenge taking. Right away, the module said that,

'It is unwise to straightforwardly kill your revenge target. It may feel good at that moment, but you'll never be fully satisfied. It is advised to religiously follow the regiments formulated in the module for maximum satisfaction...'

which, you know, kind of sent a bit of a chill through my spine. Felt like I was reading a book written by a serial killer. But I had to agree, maximum satisfaction on a revenge can only occur when you have stripped away everything from your revenge targets. That way, even if you killed them, the society won't judge you for it.

The revenge module came up with six steps for a satisfying ending. Investigate the tragedy, identify the targets, strength and weaknesses, norm and habits, timing, and exit strategy. It was a lot for a six year old about to turn seven, if I was a six year old turning seven.
