(CHAPTER 23: DEATH WORM)

"Get your hands off him!" I shouted, one of my fist is already in flame, ready to launch. "Don't you dare move! I will snap her!" I could see the invisible grip tightening, it seems like no joke. I take a stare at him, before staring at Toby, dangled mid air. I thought he would scream, shout or maybe do something to get away, but he just stare at me.

"Who lifted me up?" He asked, his sound didn't seem like he was chocked at all. "Who is grabbing me by the neck." Without any warning, he spun his head 360 degrees to his back, the grip on his throat lets go as the invisible cunt let out a shout. Shocked. Looks like he is a half slime being, more like a rubber man.

"How, how did you…" He asked, I could see the footsteps on the ground, he is backing up. "Oh, I think someone is talking to me." Hell he sure is innocent. "Anyone there?" He called out, approaching forward, where the man is supposed to be. "Get away from me!" He screamed, if I knew he was a half breed before, I would've been scared for life too. "You are there?" He asked out again, he didn't stop approaching. "Get, get away!!" He screamed at the top of his lungs.

"Shaa-"

All of us heard a faint rustle, and it was mere seconds when a figure dashes out amongst the jungle, dashing towards us. "Get out!" I yelled, dashing towards Toby, who is nearest to me, and pounce towards him. I hug him tightly as the both of us roll out of the way. That invisible asshole wasn't that lucky though, he sat there and stare with his spaghetti legs and screamed, while a gigantic shadow snaps him on his way, a quick snack.

"You okay?" the two of us hid behind a tree. I stare at him, he seem to blush as he nodded, why the fuck did he did that. I thought men are not supposed to act like that. "Great." I take a quick glimpse, the monster was long gone, leaving a huge trail on the ground. Feels like an incoming meteor just trampled this place, that man must've become a goner by now. This forest sure is dangerous.

"Shhh-"

A sudden crackle alongside a hiss made my fur stand to the end. Holy shit, he is still there. "Move!" The two of us dive out of the way as the gigantic beast lunges towards us. He missed us, barely, while the oak tree snaps like a toothpick. I immediately get up from my feet, as I stare at the colossal beast in front of us.

"An Ancient Death Worm." I could hear Toby stammer under his breath.

The beast looks like an centipede , with the size of a fucking dragon, almost ten meter in length and two meter wide. It's head is equipped with a set of razor blade, rotating like chainsaws, even diamonds would turn into dust. And in the middle of the gigantic spiral mouth, was a huge red eye, ones that stare right into your soul. His entire body is platted in thick armor, reflecting the moonlight. The constant moving of it's thousands of hind legs gave him a distinct crackling sound, indeed a sound of death. The gigantic front claws make him able to shred through even the toughest armor like fabric.

He take a glimpse at me, and seem to lose interest, before jolting towards Toby. "Watch out!!" I shouted towards Toby, who was completely blank when he saw this destroyer dashing to his direction. He immediately leap out of the way with his slime ability, before reaching his hand out towards the branch of the tree beside, his arm extending as long as twice the size. He does a backflip and land on another branch. All that the death worm had eaten was a stack of wood in his mouth, he bit it down in anger before dashing towards him once more.

"Magma Beam!!" A huge beam of heat pierce through the forest shades, blasting him right in the face, sending him off course and stumbling towards the tree. "Thank you." He landed beside me. "Hands up, stay sharp." I said, raising my fist in my fight stance "You know how to fight?" I asked, trying to see if he is capable of anything. He shook his head, from his clumsy act and slow reaction from before, I already guess it out.

"Then get back and get out." I pushed him back. "I will get this son of a bitch." I let out a grin, as the mark started to form on my chest, tattoos in the shape of flame started to engulf me. Let this fight, be one of the greatest in my life. Deep down I knew we never stand a chance, but it was worth a struggle.
