Chapter 1: Bad Beggining

"Ah! It hurts so much."

Stev was awakened by a sharp pain in his right leg.

"Damn, what happened?"

He sat up and looked around .

He was surrounding by darkness and he saw nothing but emptiness .

A flash of water-like, glittering light appeared in front of him, it was so dim that he didn't notice it.

He continue to look around when suddenly the sharp ache in his thigh returned .

Lowering his head, he saw a whale-like monster approximately half the size of a hand on his leg, with weak blue light coming from all over it.

And still, its mouth was viciously biting Stev's thigh. He might end up losing a leg if it rose a little higher.

From the wound, a trickle of pale blue liquid emerged and entered the blue creature's mouth.

"Pa~"

Without any further thought, he attacked it. He didn't cared if it was a dangerous creature or not. He couldn't care less.

With all of his strength, he grabbed that peculiar creature and tossed it away.

It flipped around in the air a few times before it steadied itself.

Then it took off in the direction of Stev, opened his mouth, and bit this time his arm.

Stev, who had been watching at this weird creature, finally relaxed a little.

'Thank god, it's not something I can't deal with'

Imagine yourself in a black space with a little creature trying to eat you up, even if you are not scared, you 'd be vigilant. What if it had unlimited strength or it suddenly transformed into something frightening.

Stev find out that it was just a liitle creature without intelligence, without strength and speed.

So he easily discern its flight trajectory.

Without any further worries, with another fierce wave of his hand he swatted it away.

This time, though, the creature appeared to have struck something and collapsed into a shadowy item that glistened with ripples of water.

And it appeared to be hurt, as a large amount of blue liquid leaked from its body.

However, it appeared to have been fixated on Stev and resumed its flight.

Despite its wounds, it hurried back towards Stev while gushing blue blood.

"Agh, why don't you stop?"

Stev was irritated beyond belief. He trod heavily on the blue thing after stepping on it despite the agony in his thigh.

There was a snap and a sound just like the pop of a balloon .

The blue monster burst into a plethora of dispersed light spots sprayed a large amount of blue liquid.

The liquid paused for an instance and then it made a great splash before merging completely with Stev's body like a newborn swallow diving into the forest.

Stev felt extreme dizziness at the same time before passing out.

A weird voice seemed to emerge from the recesses of his mind just before he went into a coma.

(On an another world)

On an endless sea.

A raft carried a youth floating around on the waves.

On the raft was a pale, handsome, and somewhat thin man.

He was quite attractive, he had large and wide set eyes

symmetric and slim nose and sharp jawline. He had black hair, but what was particular exceptional was his pale blue eyes.

Suddenly, his eyelids trembled slightly, and then he slowly opened his eyes.

Stev's just opened eyes squinted once more at the blinding brightness.

A feeling of weakness and soreness spread throughout his body, making him extremely uncomfortable, as if he had it nine times a night.

"Ahem~~"

He had a burning sensation in his throat that caused him to cough twice.

Pushing himself up, he took a glance around after acclimating to the intense sunlight.

"Where I'm I? How did I end up here?"

His voice sounded weak and harsh beyond belief.

He sounded as though he had been shouting all night.

But he didn't cared about it because he find himself on an endless ocean with no bounderies.

There was a three-meter-long and three-meter-wide wooden board beneath his feet. The board was thin about fifty centimetre, but even then Stev could be carried with ease and the rift wasn't sinking a milimetre as if it had a peculiar power.

There was nothing else.

Stev's pale and delicate face showed a hint of confusion as he scowled.

He recalls finding a difficult job just like every newly gratuated college student. He remembered that he worked extra yesterday until midnight, as usual, and when he came home he immediately fell asleep.

'What is going on?' He thought.

First it was that dark space with that blue thing, and then this sea ?

He couldn't understand what was happening and he thought that everything was just a peculiar dream.

Who among us hasn't had weird nightmares as an adult?

'But how on earth was this so true?' he nearly screamed from irritation.

Everything seemed so real—the warm sunshine, the swaying raft beneath his feet, the saline sea breeze.

'No, it can't be a dream. However, if this is a joke, it's overdone.'

As he continued to stare at the raft at his feet, a row of odd, translucent blue lettering suddenly materialized in front of him.

[Raft base]

Quality: black iron

Durability: 98/100

Evaluation: It's an ordinary raft base, but please don't abandon it casually. It is your only place to stay now.

Recollections ,that weren't his, started to surface as soon as the blue item prompt showed up.

He shut his eyes and rubbed his bloated brain until he realized what was going on.

As it happens, this is no longer Earth.

Justin was this body's original owner, and a lot has changed on their planet Blue Star.

The seven billion people on the planet were drawn into an odd game called the Global Survival Game yesterday.

Nobody is aware of the creator of this game or the reason behind its widespread use. It might have been an advanced interplanetary civilization, a monster, or even a god.

A raft and a wooden hook were beneath Justin's feet when he initially began the game, in addition to the fundamental rules that were immediately imprinted into his head.

Occasionally, objects such as plastics, boards of wood, barrels, and cartons would float on the waves. You must gather these materials with wooden hooks if you wish to live.

The game also take additional care of the children and the old. Justin had been sick in bed for many years, so before he got part in this game, he was very weak. However, he was a twenty-year-old adult, which is unfortunate. He was not eligible for special care despite being feeble, ill for many years, but not that severe as many sixty-year-olds.

He was so feeble that the only thing he could do was drag his gravely sick body to pick up the wooden hook and get ready to take resources in accordance with the game's rules.

It took him a long time and all of his might to hook a nearby wooden barrel as a result.

Nevertheless, he unintentionally lost his strength in both hands due to his physical frailty. Not only he end up failing to topple the barrel, he also misplaced the wooden hook that slid into the ocean.

The sole prospect of survival vanished. This put him directly in a precarious predicament.

After being exposed to the wind and sun for a day and night, the body was incredibly weak and the mental blow was so great that in the end it cost his life.

'Dragging a sick body and even lost the only wooden hook.'

Stev almost cursed his mother directly.

"How can I play this crappy game?"

A sense of hopelessness overcame him.
