The old man quickly retracted his gaze and stroked his beard as he asked, "What is your name?"
"Amanda Smith."
"Amanda... Smith..." The old man nodded, gestured for Amanda to sit in front of him, and spoke to her gently, "Stretch out your hand; I will take your pulse."
Amanda gave him a look and stretched out her wrist.
Without any change in expression, the old man placed two fingers on Amanda's wrist and after a moment of silence, he looked at her again.
"How is it?"
Samuel, who was standing behind her, asked with a hint of eagerness in his voice that was not easily detected.
"The qi and blood have sunk, the meridians are blocked. For someone as young as your wife to have such severe internal injuries, I wonder what she has experienced before?"
"Before?" Samuel immediately thought of what Doctor Wang had told him about Amanda's car accident when she was younger.
Doctor Seam nodded, "About four years ago, right?"
The color drained from both their faces as he spoke.
