When Samuel Johnson got off work and came home, he immediately felt the tension in the hall. His fiancee, who usually spent time shopping outside, was unexpectedly sitting on the sofa at home, while his mother sat on the opposite side, fuming.
He didn't think much of it and headed upstairs, but Annie, looking pitiful on the sofa, called out to him, "Samuel."
Samuel paused slightly and looked over, only to hear Annie say to him, "Let's find some time to go to the hospital."
"Shut your mouth!"
The response Annie received was an uncontrollable roar from Mrs. Johnson.
No one could have imagined the normally gentle Mrs. Johnson becoming so irate.
Samuel glanced briefly at the two women, then at the silent servants around him, and he knew that the matter of his impotence was probably known by the whole Johnson family.
