Annie quickly lost interest in the empty room on the second floor. She tugged at Samuel Johnson's hand, aiming to leave. "It's so dirty here, let's go."

Samuel Johnson didn't speak. He wriggled his hand free from Annie's grip and walked into the dim room.

The dust floating in the air made it hard to breathe. He looked like he was inspecting something, walking step by step through the empty room before stopping by the window. He knew there should be a bed next to this window, and beside the bed, a workbench...

Samuel Johnson hesitated for a moment, then shook his head vigorously.

Why was he thinking about all this?

He felt a slight tightness in his heart, then, as if escaping, he left the empty room.
