Episode 9 - Post-Sectionals

Previously: The New Directions won Sectionals, and Sam was pleased with them. Quinn, Rachel, Kurt, Blaine, Nyla, Brittany, Artie, Mercedes and Tina all showed up to support them. Beth also gave the lead singer to Mia, as she knew that she wanted it more.

Whispering is heard coming from within the Choir Room.

Down the corridor, Sam walks with Elijah, Mia, Marcus, Reo, Beth, Kourtney, Kara, Xander, Nathan, Will, Penny and Amanda.

Elijah and Mia hold hands smiling as Beth and Reo carry their trophy.

Will then opens the door to the Choir Room, and as they walk in, the light turns on, revealing Kurt, Blaine, Nyla, Kitty, Artie, Tina, Mercedes, Brittany, Rachel and Quinn.

Kurt and everyone then shouts "CONGRATULATIONS!".

A woman then walks up to the Choir Room door and she stands there watching.

(Shake It Off, Taylor Swift starts to play)

As the music starts, Brittany, Xander, Kitty, Quinn, Kara, Kourtney and Beth get together and they start dancing together.

Brittany then sings "I stay out too late, got nothing in my brain, that's what people say, mm, mm".

Beth smiles at her "that's what people say, mm, mm".

Reo then walks over to them singing "I go on too many dates, but I can't make 'em stay, at least that's what people say, mm, mm".

Mia and Elijah start to sing together "that's what people say, mm, mm, but I keep cruising, can't stop, won't stop moving".

Will stands in the middle of them all and he sings "it's like I got this music in my mind, saying it's gonna be alright".

Rachel and everyone in the room all sings together "'cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play and the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, I shake it off, I shake it off".

Kourtney sings "whoo-hoo-hoo".

Rachel then holds Quinn's hand and Rachel sings "heartbreakers gonna break, break, break, break, break and the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake".

Quinn then sings "baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake".

Rachel then joins in with her and the two of them sing "I shake it off, I shake it off".

Kara then sings "whoo-hoo-hoo".

Mercedes then sings "I never miss a beat, I'm lightning on my feet, and that's what they don't see, mm, mm".

Tina smiles at Artie and she sings "that's what they don't see, mm, mm".

Artie smiles as he sings "I'm dancing on my own".

Tina sings "dancing on my own".

Artie then sings "I make the moves up as I go".

Tina holds both of Artie's hands and sings "moves up as I go".

Artie sings "and that's what they don't know, mm, mm".

As Artie and Tina hug, Kurt then sings "that's what they don't know, mm, mm".

Blaine jumps out to the front as Brittany, Xander, Kitty, Quinn, Kara, Kourtney and Beth dance together. Blaine then sings "but I keep cruising, can't stop, won't stop grooving, it's like I got this music in my mind, saying it's gonna be alright".

Marcus then starts nodding as he sings "'cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play".

Mia then sings on her own "and the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate".

Elijah comes up to her and he starts to shake near her playfully as he sings "baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake".

Beth dances beside Reo and she sings "I shake it off, I shake it off".

Reo smiles and he sings "whoo-hoo-hoo".

Kitty, Quinn and Beth all stand together dancing as Kitty sings "heartbreakers gonna break, break, break, break, break, and the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake".

Will then smiles as Emma walks into the room "baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake".

Emma then sings "I shake it off, I shake it off".

Will sings "whoo-hoo-hoo".

Rachel belts out "shake it off, I shake it off, I, I, I shake it off, I shake it off".

Elijah and Mia then sing together "I, I, I shake it off, I shake it off".

Everyone then sings together again "I, I, I shake it off, I shake it off".

Whilst music continues to play in the distance, everyone stands together talking.

Sam stands there smiling and Kitty look over at him and she waves at him.

Sam smiles at her, but a woman then taps his shoulder, Sam turns around seeing a woman in a black suit. Sam stares at her "uh, hi?" the woman puts her hand out and she says, in a British accent "Roberta Mannings, how are you, Sam?" Sam shakes her hand "hi? Sorry, do I know you?" Roberta smiles "probably not, I'm a British record executive, I serve as chairman of the NYU Music Group, and I was sent to watch you all at Sectionals, not just you, all the choirs, and Sam I have to admit, you did an incredible job" Sam nods at her, but still confused "so? Why are you here?" Roberta smiles "I'd love to take you on board as a director for some of our leading singers, we work with people such as; Ariana Grande, Little Mix, and I mean the list will go on and on...and we're looking for someone with a fresh taste to directing our music videos, and I think you would be fantastic, the money is incredible, and you'd be a great part of the team" Sam stands there staring at her "you want me to join you?" Roberta nods at him "I do".

Elijah stands in the Choir Room and he drinks a cup of juice as Rachel walks over to him.

Elijah smiles at her "hey" Rachel smiles "it's nice to meet you, I'm Rac-" Elijah nods "Rachel Berry, I know. You're the star of The New Directions, always have been and always will be" Rachel smiles "I just wanted to congratulate you, you did an incredible job" Elijah smiles "thanks" Rachel nods at him "just keep it up" Elijah nods at her "I will, thank you".

Rachel walks off, and Elijah looks around the room, where he sees Mia is missing.

Reo sits on a chair beside Quinn. Reo then says "so, I hear you were the head Cheerio when you were here?" Quinn nods at him "I was, so was Kitty" Reo looks at Kitty as Beth walks over.

Reo then looks at Beth, but then back at Quinn, then back at Beth "whoa, you really do look similar" Beth then rolls her eyes and she takes Reo's hand and she says "come with me".

Reo follows Beth down the corridor where he says "where are we going?" Beth then opens the door to the toilets and she says "trousers off, now...and don't make me regret this-" Reo smiles and he starts to kiss Beth on the lips. Beth smiles at him and she pushes a cubical door open.

Brittany stands on her own as Tina walks over to her and Artie moves over to her in his wheelchair. Artie then smiles "hey, how have things been with you?" Brittany looks at them "well, yesterday I found a rock, and according to some other professor's at the university, it's something called a fossil" Tina then nods "that's right, you're a professor, right?" Brittany nods at her "I'm an Actuarial Science Professor at Harvard University" Artie then nods at her.

Brittany then says "it's okay money, I only make about twenty-two thousand dollars a month-" Tina then smiles at her "only? That's really good money" Brittany then stares at her "don't you make millions starring in movies?" Tina then looks at Artie, then back at Brittany "it's still good money though" Brittany nods at her "I bought Mr Tubbington his own house last week".

Outside, the stars shine in the sky and the moon also shines down onto McKinley High.

Elijah then steps outside, where he sees Mia sat on the stairs.

Elijah then says "hey?" Mia turns around, smiling at him "hey". Elijah walks over to her and sits beside her, and he then looks up at the sky "what're you thinking about?" Mia says "that in about ten years time, we're going to be those people inside that school, either we're gonna become Rachel's, Kurt's, Brittany's, Sam's-" Elijah then looks at her. Mia then goes "the fact they're all here together, proves that they don't see each other very much, and I don't want to live this big successful life if it means I don't get to see you, or my sister, or my mom, or my friends" Elijah then holds Mia's hands "we're both Freshman, we've still got so much time together here, we'll make it work, I don't know how...but we'll stay together, and we'll be together".

(Shallow, Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper starts to play)

Sat on the stairs together, looking at the sky, Elijah then turns his head and looks at Mia, he sings "tell me somethin', girl, are you happy in this modern world? Or do you need more? Is there somethin' else you're searchin' for?".

Elijah then stands up, where he takes Mia's hand, pulling her up and he sings "I'm fallin', in all the good times I find myself longin' for change and in the bad times, I fear myself".

Mia and Elijah walk into McKinley High, holding hands, they walk down a corridor. Mia then sings "tell me something, boy, aren't you tired tryin' to fill that void? Or do you need more? Ain't it hard keepin' it so hardcore?".

Mia then stops as Elijah hugs her, Mia smiles as she sings "I'm falling, in all the good times I find myself longing for change, and in the bad times, I fear myself".

As Elijah puts Mia down, she then belts out "I'm off the deep end, watch as I dive in, I'll never meet the ground".

Elijah smiles at Mia, as Mia stops near her locker and she continues to sing "crash through the surface, where they can't hurt us, we're far from the shallow now".

Elijah then joins in, and the two of them sing "in the sha-ha-sha-ha-llow, in the sha-ha-sha-la-la-la-llow, in the sha-ha-sha-ha-llow".

The two of them hold hands, continuing to walk down the corridor as they continue to sing "we're far from the shallow now".

As Mia and Elijah walk back into the Choir Room, Mia sings oh, ha-ah-ah".

Mia then jumps onto the piano and she stands on it and starts to sing "ah, ha-ah-ah, oh, ah, ha-ah-ah-ah".

Mia then looks down at Elijah and she smiles "I'm off the deep end, watch as I dive in, I'll never meet the ground".

Rachel, Will and everyone in the room looks over at Mia and Elijah.

Sam looks at them and he smiles, Kitty looks at Sam.

Everyone stands applauding the two of them, Mia then looks around and she smiles.

Will walks over to Rachel and he smiles at her "hey, Rachel, I heard about what happened back at home, I'm sorry" Rachel then smiles "honestly, I'm fine. All these years since I was a little girl I wanted to be a star, and I got to be one, the star of Funny Girl, all those other shows I did...the people I got to meet, and the people that I will always love, they're apart of me, and I'm not done with being a star, of course I'm not, it's my dream to die big, but Quinn showed me that there's more to the world than just owning it" Will smiles at her "what will you do now?" Rachel smiles and she looks over at Quinn, Rachel then looks back at Will and she says "me and Quinn are gonna go and travel together, we're gonna travel the world" Will smiles at her proudly.

Sam sits on a chair, and he sits there nervously, but also worried.

Kitty then sits beside him "so? When do you leave?" Sam stares at her "what?" Kitty smirks "I'm not stupid, the woman-" Sam then says "Roberta" Kitty then laughs "Roberta? Well, a woman with her dress sense, and definitely a name like that, she's clearly some big businesswoman?" Sam then nods at her "she wants me to come and direct music videos for her, for some big names, she loved our performance at Sectionals, I'd be gone for a while" Kitty then smiles "then you have to take it!" Sam shakes his head "I can't leave these guys behind, they need me" Kitty then says "do you really wanna be trapped here forever? Even if you just go once and see if you enjoy it, I'll stay here and look after the Glee Club" Sam stares at her "well-" Kitty raises her eyebrows at him. Sam then scoffs "how do I even know you're good enough to run it?" Kitty then smirks at him "how dare you say that, you really wanna know?". Sam nods at her "yeah".

Kitty then steps into the middle of the room and she looks around "girls, I'm gonna need you".

Quinn, Brittany, Mia, Beth, Kara and Kourtney run over to her, and Kitty smiles at Sam.

(Broken Heels, Alexandra Burke starts to play)

Beth and Kara both start dancing together with Kitty. Beth then sings "hey, hey".

Kitty looks over at Sam, pointing at him as she says "RedOne, you know I can do it better than you, I can do it even better in broken heels" Sam rolls his eyes at her as Rachel laughs at Sam.

Kara then sings "hey, hey, all the ladies tell the fellas we can do what they can do, we can do it even better in broken heels".

Kitty then walks up to the front as Quinn and Britany dance together. Kitty then sings "I roll my sleeves up, wrap my hair up, there's no sign on the road so I never stop, can you catch me? Yeah, yeah, yeah, you'll never catch me, ay, ay, ay".

Brittany then sings "I'm fresh out the box, fast like a fox, boss in my shoes, tick tock, 12 o'clock, you better watch me, yeah, yeah, yeah, sit back and watch me, ay, ay, ay".

Quinn then sings "you go hard, yes, you do, but when I go it's a magic show, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, I get it when I want it and I get it right".

Mia and Kourtney then start dancing, and the six of them dance whilst Kitty then sings "hey, hey, all the ladies tell the fellas we can do what they can do, we can do it even better with broken heels. Hey, hey, all the ladies tell the fellas we can do what they can do, we can do it even better in broken heels".

Kourtney then sings "when you step it up I'm 20 levels up, I took the escalator, elevator to the top, how you like me? Yeah, yeah, yeah, you gotta like me, ay, ay, ay".

Beth walks over and stands beside Kitty and she sings "oh, you know we rock, we control the block, whatever's going down, ladies take the biggest cut, we bring the party, yeah, yeah, yeah, we bought the party, ay, ay, ay".

Kitty stands in the middle of the girls, as they all dance, she sings "you go hard, yes, you do, but when I go it's a magic show, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, I get it when I want it and I get it right".

Kitty, Beth, Kara, Quinn, Brittany, Kourtney and Mia then all sing together "hey, hey, all the ladies tell the fellas we can do what they can do, we can do it even better in broken heels, hey, hey, all the ladies tell the fellas we can do what they can do, we can do it even better in broken heels".

Kitty then walks over to Sam and she sings "anything you can do I can do better boy, I can do it in broken heels".

Kitty then sits on the chair beside him and she finishes the song "anything you can do we can do better, boy, I can do it in broken, broken heels".

Kitty then looks at Sam "well?" Sam then start to smile at her "looks like I've found a backup coach". Kitty smiles at him until Elijah says "what do you mean?" Sam then looks up and sees everyone looking at him. Sam stands there speechless and he tries to think of a way to respond.

Will stands with Sam and he says "you should've come spoke to me about it" Sam then nods "I know, but Roberta was terrifying, and it's amazing money, I've been wanting to help my parents move out of their shack they live in, and it'll help my brother and sister once they finish university, I'll come back, I promise" Will then smiles at Sam "I'm glad you're doing something you'll enjoy" Sam smiles at him "I love it here, but I don't wanna be trapped here. I know Kitty will be great for The New Directions, have some faith in her" Will nods at him "alright".

Quinn looks around the Choir Room, and she notices Rachel isn't there. Quinn then walks over to Brittany and smiles "I'll give you a call soon, I'd love to meet up with you" Brittany nods at her "okay" Quinn smiles and she then walks over to the door, and out of the Choir Room.

Outside, Quinn walks out of the school and sees Rachel stood near her car.

Quinn then says "quiet escape?" Rachel then smiles "I'm trying not to be as big as I was before, so yeah, quiet escape" Quinn nods "where do you wanna go first then?" Rachel sits there thinking until she then says "away, somewhere away" Quinn then nods "then let's getaway".

Rachel and Quinn get into the car together, Rachel looks over at the school, and then at the tree that was planted for Finn, Rachel smiles at it as Quinn then starts to drive away from the school.

Back inside the Choir Room, Sam stands looking at Elijah, Mia, Marcus, Reo, Beth, Kara, Kourtney, Nathan, Xander and all the other members and he says "so, it is true that I'm leaving, not forever, I'm gonna be here for when you all go to Regionals, and hopefully Nationals. And if there's one thing that I am certain of, it's that Kitty will be amazing at leading you all there".

Kitty then stands beside Sam and she smiles at him "of course, I've been there, all the way to Nationals, and I know we'll get there, you all have so many incredible things about you, that makes you amazing, and we'll use that to win this year's Nationals".

Elijah then smiles and he nods at her.

Mia smiles as Marcus and everyone else then starts to look at each other.

Sam then looks around as all the New Directions start to circle Sam, forming a group hug with him.

Will stands with Artie smiles. Artie then says "remember when that was you?" Will nods "he's made it so far, but I'm really not sure that Kitty can lead them" Artie looks at Will.

People start to leave the school together, Brittany walks with Mercedes towards a car.

Blaine and Kurt walk together with Nyla, Will and Emma.

Will then says "I suppose you're off home then?" Kurt nods at him "Blaine has to get back to continue filming his movie" Will nods at him "well, I hope I'll see you again soon?" Blaine then smiles "well, we actually have a bit of an announcement".

Emma then smiles at them as she holds Will's hand.

Blaine and Kurt look at each other, Blaine then says "when I finish my movie, we're selling our house and we wanna move back to Lima, here" Emma then smiles "oh my gosh!".

Will then laughs "that's amazing! I'd love that so much" Kurt and Blaine smile at him.

Beth and Mia walk together. Beth then says "you were amazing by the way, at Sectionals" Mia then smiles at her "so were you" Beth stares at her "I am sorry I was such a bitch to you, I have enjoyed working with you in Glee Club" Mia nods at her "me too" Beth smiles at her.

Outside the car, Amanda waits for them.

Beth then smiles as Amanda says "you girls were incredible!" Mia nods at her "thanks, mom!".

As the three of them get into the car, Amanda then says "I spoke to a realtor earlier, and we're putting the house on the market this week!" Mia then looks over at her nervously.

Next Time - Mid-Finale - Get Together - With Sam only days away from leaving, Elijah and the Glee Club get together to prepare a farewell song for him. Penny comes to talk to Sam. Kurt and Blaine return home and Blaine receives some information about his movie. Kitty also prepares to move into Sam's office, where Sam soon discovers Kitty is dating a familiar face.
