"Mother, mother," Mei's soft voice echoed through the large traditional Japanese house as she returned home, the sliding door closing behind her with a gentle click. She hurried inside, concern etched on her face as she made her way to her mother's room."Ara... Mei," her mother said softly, a gentle cough escaping her lips as she lay in bed, greeting her daughter who had just returned home. Mei's heart clenched at the sight of her sickly mother, concern evident in her eyes as she approached the bedside."You ok?" Mei asked, her voice filled with worry as she took in her mother's condition, a mix of relief and sadness washing over her when her mother smiled weakly in response."I'm getting better," her mother reassured her, the words carrying a sense of hope despite the weariness evident in her eyes."You always say that, Mother," Mei sighed, a mixture of frustration and love lacing her words as she straightened up and made her way towards the kitchen. "I'll go and cook something."As Mei gathered fresh ingredients from the fridge, her thoughts drifted to her father. "Where's father?" she asked her mother, hoping for his return soon."Ah, dear Ryoma is on a business trip, but don't worry, he will come back anytime this afternoon," her mother replied, a flicker of longing in her eyes at the mention of her husband."Great, I'll whip up something, mother," Mei said with a sense of determination, her actions mirroring the strength and resilience she had learned from her mother."Oh... Mei, my baby," her mother's voice wavered slightly as she tried to stand up, the desire to help evident in her eyes. "Don't be too hard on yourself. Let me help.""Mother, don't, it's okay," Mei insisted gently, placing a reassuring hand on her mother's shoulder. "I've got this.""But I always feel burdened by it... Let me-""Mother, it's fine," Mei interrupted, gazing at her mother with love and understanding. "Just rest, I'll take care of everything.""... Okay," her mother relented, sinking back onto the bed with a grateful smile, a sense of peace settling between mother and daughter in the quiet of their traditional Japanese home.

As time passes by, Mei nearly finishes preparing lunch and meticulously arranges the dishes and food on the table, ensuring every detail is in place for her family's mealtime. Once the final touches are done, Mei goes to her mother, noticing her cough, yet carrying a warm smile on her face as she starts a conversation. "How was school today, Mei?" her mother inquires gently."It's fine, mother. I've been working hard," Mei replies, her dedication evident in her voice as she finishes setting the dinner table."I know you're diligent, dear. I was actually curious about your friends," her mother interjects, punctuating her sentence with a slight cough."Kiana and Bronya are both doing well, mother," Mei responds, her gaze reflecting the connection she holds with her friends."Fufu, that's exactly what I want to hear," her mother remarks with a heartfelt smile directed at her daughter, Mei, just as Mei hurries towards the door upon hearing a knock."Father, welcome back home," Mei speaks respectfully as she greets her father, executing a Japanese traditional bow as a sign of courtesy.Raiden Ryoma, her father, beams warmly upon seeing Mei, affectionately patting her head before asking, "Mei, have you been well?""Of course, father. Mother is also doing well. Dinner is prepared and waiting," Mei replies with a poised and respectful demeanor, making her way to the dining table to usher in the family mealtime. As Mei and her parents sat together at their traditional Japanese table in the cozy confines of their traditional Japanese home, they indulged in a hearty lunch. Once the meal was over, Mei took it upon herself to meticulously wash the dishes, completing the task with effortless ease. As she reached the bottom of the sink, she prepared to head upstairs to her room, but a shimmering deck of cards caught her eye, emblazoned with the word "UNO."Curious, Mei's father, Raiden Ryoma, who had settled himself on the couch, noticed her intrigue and inquired innocently, "Father, what are these colorful cards for?"Turning his head with a kind smile, Raiden Ryoma explained, "Ah, these are a gift from work. I heard it's a new card game, something like... HelloKitty, if I recall correctly."Perplexed by the unexpected reference, Mei furrowed her brow in contemplation, muttering to herself, "HelloKitty? I thought they only make digital games..."Observing the playful banter between her husband and daughter, Mei's mother, though frail from sickness, lit up with a gentle smile as she picked up the deck of cards. Kindly proposing, she suggested, "Why don't we give this game a try? The instructions on the box indicate it's quite simple and enjoyable."Eager to spend quality time with her family, Mei beamed with excitement and agreed, "That sounds like a delightful idea, Mother!" She lovingly helped her mother up the stairs, the two of them ascending to Mei's room in anticipation of a fun and lighthearted game of UNO together.Mei and her sickly mother play UNO for a while, at first itnwas fun and unique gameplay as it's simply rules that can be adjusted or add make up rules to make the game more interesting, and as well more family friendly card game as it's enjoyable, but the two goes on they keep playing, they become a bit competitive only until....Mei and her mother, who had been feeling under the weather, decided to pass the time playing a spirited game of UNO. Initially, the game brought them joy with its simple rules that allowed for creative adjustments and the incorporation of new rules to amp up the excitement. It was an ideal choice for some quality family time due to its engaging and family-friendly nature. However, as they continued playing, they both began to get more invested in the competition, each determined to emerge victorious. As they were engrossed in their game, Raiden Ryoma, Mei's father, made his way up the stairs and gently pushed open the door to Mei's room to notify her about the arrival of her friends. To his surprise, what he found was an unexpected scene unfolding before him."Mei-san, your friends are here—" Raiden started, only to be abruptly cut off by Mei's distressed voice."Father! Father! Mama is bullying me..." Mei cried out, her voice tinged with a mix of frustration and sadness. Her mother, on the other hand, couldn't help but let out a soft giggle, trying to console her daughter."Oh, dear, I'm sorry, sweetie. It's all in good fun, don't be upset. It's just a game," Mei's mother reassured her gently, emphasizing the playful nature of their friendly match. The room was filled with a mix of laughter and tension as the game continued, both mother and daughter eager to outwit each other in this unexpected battle of wits.As her sickly mother slightly coughs and pats her crying daughter, the card game they played is on the floor, as the one card presumably being Mei's is only one card, a number 2 with red color on it. The other 4 cards on the floor, presumably her mother, have 4 black cards with a text saying plus 4 on them.

"Uwaaa...." Mei lets out a small cry, as she still feels a bit bitter about the defeat she suffered in the card game earlier that evening, her disappointment lingering in the air like a heavy cloud."Fufu, I said I'm sorry..." Her sickly mother, with a gentle smile on her face, let out a soft giggle in the background while she lay down on the bed, clearly trying to lift Mei's spirits despite her own frailty and tiredness."What happened?" Kiana asked, concern evident in her voice as she gazed at Mei, who still appeared a bit teary-eyed from the recent card game incident with her mother."Just beaten in a card game with my mother," Mei replied, trying to ease out the disappointment she felt."Eh? What card game?" Bronya inquired, her curiosity piqued by the mention of the game."The new card game called UNO, made by HelloKitty," Mei sighed as she answered, her frustration evident."Eh!? Them again!? Did they start expanding their business or something?" Kiana exclaimed, surprised by the news."Well, it's not that excessive; it's an industry for a reason," Bronya rationalized, offering a perspective on the situation."Well, damn, never noticed that a new toy was released," Kiana remarked with a shrug, also letting out a sigh to express her surprise and slight confusion."Well, anyway, what are you two doing in my house, Kiana, Bronya?" Mei inquired, her curiosity piqued by their unexpected presence."Well, since you mentioned that the HelloKitty industry has expanded, making toys and video games, it appears that card games are not their only latest creation," Bronya replied, taking out her phone to show Mei something intriguing.Bronya revealed a new trailer for an upcoming movie set to be released in two weeks, showcasing a panda delving into the world of martial arts and Kung Fu – a storyline reminiscent of the iconic Kung Fu Panda character."Eh?... Now they are making movies?" Mei expressed her astonishment, genuinely surprised by the unexpected turn of events."That's quite sudden... First amazing games, then toys... And now, movies?" Mei articulated her bewildered thoughts at the rapid expansion of the HelloKitty industry.
