Chapter 11 - Giovanni (2)

The air is cool this early morning. I tug my knitted scarf around my neck, thankful to Rick who made it for me a couple of Christmases ago—that big man looks like a wrestler, but his hobby involves yarns and needles, and his meaty hands look incredibly out of place when he works his magic. I ain't complaining though. This scarf has easily become a favorite.

I push the door open and immediately, I hear the music coming from inside the club. Is she still here? I stride down the hallway fast, suddenly excited to see her dance again.

Then I see Benny at the end who nods to me. There's something in his expression that I can't decipher and I'm about to ask him what's up when I don't have to.

The moment the dance floor comes into view, I see them. Malia and her fucking boyfriend, dancing to the song "Apologize". It's the first time I'm seeing her dance with a guy; with him. "How long have they been here?" I ask in a low voice, almost growling.
