The First Born Link

One of an entity's rarest abilities is soul-linking. They are referred to as "Links."

A sophisticated method called soul linking allows the "Link" to change a person's viewpoint of the outside world, by trading their already-known abilities for new ones, as long as the new one preserves the elemental essence. They can enhance, mimic, discard, or even construct entirely new abilities.

The first "Link" was born 3 thousand years ago. A baby girl was discovered in a solitary cave in a cold, snowy environment. She was found in an iceberg, frozen, and illuminated by the sun-bright light, by some scouts, who identified her and took her to the nearest settlement.

One of the men, Yomir, agreed to look after her along with his wife Iranda. They agreed to take care of her and embraced Troya as their daughter.

Troya was cherished and cared for by the two adoptive parents. But, they continued to be aware that Troya had been found from the inside of an iceberg.

They questioned; how could this infant have survived for so long alone in an iceberg, and how her body never matured.

Nevertheless, they treated her like any other person; with love and care, until something unexpected occurred.

Troya's true identity was revealed three years later when her parents came across a child getting abused by their parents. Troya despised people who were treated incorrectly and decided to act. Her eyes transformed, and suddenly her father, Yomir, began screaming in pain.

Troya took control of her father's body and forced her way inside his mind. She manipulated her father into killing the abusive father with a knife.

The abusive father was stabbed in his back. And before long, he was killed.

The two loving parents began to fear Troya and did as much as possible to avoid her. They became distant and as the years passed, Troya had enough.

She fled from her home at the age of 14, ended up in the wilderness.

The environment was chilly and hazardous, and as she traveled further, her body deteriorated and began to crumble.

Troya used the snow as her only source of water for the whole of the 17 days and still managed to stay alive without food.

Her body grew weak, and when night fell, she passed out.

She was later found by a woman named Erika, who hurriedly rushed to her aid and brought her home in the wilderness.

Troya was given proper care, including food and water until she was able to stand and walk again.

The same incident occurred one year later when Troya found a pack of wolf pubs getting attacked by a hunter.

Her abilities began to manifest once more, which caused the hunter to perish. However, unlike her previous parents, Erika continued to treat Troya with respect and affection. She didn't run away or fear her.

It was the happiest time of Troya's life.

Then as more and more years passed and Troya became a mature adult, she fell in love with a boy named Tierno.

After spending a lot of time together, the couple soon got married. Troya moved in with her husband Tierno after finally separating from her 51-year-old mother.

After three years passed, they got married, and Troya gave birth to Nama and Tomah, two siblings. Troya discovered that Tomah lacked skills whereas Nama inherited them.

Erika, Troya's mother, died 20 years later, and Tierno, Troya's husband, died at the age of 45 after being mauled by a beast.

Troya remained alone, and her children, Nama and Tomah, went their separate way.

Nama married a man named Tako, and Tomah married a woman named Senji.

Troya later grew older and became a grandmother of Nama and Tomah's children after 30 years.

When she died at the age of 75, Nama became the new holder of these unique powers. The Yasuda family custom persisted even after Nama's burial, with Chiaki being the last surviving member and the only remaining "Link" in the present day.

Happy new year!

The purpose of this brief chapter was to highlight some of Links' history. But do not panic; there will be more history to come.
