Chapter 9: Food

By the time Zenn awoke from his slumber, the sun was slowly rising in the distant horizon.

He sat up and looked around.

When he saw the ground, Zenn was shocked. Because on the ground he slept on, letters were scattered everywhere. On the ground, there may be close to one million letters or more.

And not too far away, the small green goblins walked towards him cautiously.

One could not blame them for their cautious behaviours though. Last night, they had spent a long time getting down from 'mountain' and reaching Zenn. But the time they reached him, Zenn was frantically writing on the ground like a mad man. When they tried to talk to him, he ignored them. It seemed that he was too engrossed in whatever was doing so much that he could hear them.

After that, he passed out and fell to the ground again. The shockwave he made alone caused a small earthquake. They were luckily far away or else they would have long died under him.

Plus, the large writing of his was so large that they could fit a whole person inside. Just navigating through the now maze like terrain was a hassle.

So the two were very cautious near him. If he was to fall down once again without reason, they might be squashed. It was only natural they would think like that as the 'giant creator god' has passed out twice ever since they met him.

Who is to say a third time isn't coming?

The two then went to their knees and called out to him.

"Morning lord giant creator."

Zenn saw he two goblins and called them over.

The two walked over cautiously. After being sure that he won't pass out, they knelt down. Although they did so, their muscles were still taunt and ready to run.

"I am hungry..."

"..."

"What did you say my lord?"

"I need food," Zenn said expressionlessly.

The two did not expect this. They have heard of many tales before. It was said that the lord could call upon rains let he lands bear fruit so long as he wills. It was said that there was once a queen who found herself dying of hunger, so the lord turned a mountain of rocks into fruits for her to eat.

Now this lord was asking them for food.

Have we heard wrong?

But little did they know that could do none of what they thought of.

Zenn himself would not prefer to ask these two for food, but he has no choice. It had been more than 18 hours since he appeared in this world. Of all this time, he had not eaten a thing. Not only that, he was really hungry even when he appeared in this world. So he has taken roughly 24 hours without food or water.

He was so hungry...

No.

This was no longer hunger, he was starving. It was no longer the level where your stomach simply growls, but instead stay silently waiting for death.

It was not unfounded that he was like this. Not only did he take almost a day without food, he has used too much energy last night. When he was comprehending the Knowledge transferred in his head, his brain was basically working overtime.

So right now, he was truly weakened. Only by eating can he regain his energy. So he could only ask the two goblin. Although it might truly damage his image as their god, at least he would live.

"Lord, we only have so little food..." Ena said hastily.

"Do you not wish to give me any?"

"No, my lord. He only fears that our food may not be enough. We are willing to give our bodies to the lord, nevermid this little food."

"But..." Ena started, but was cut off immediately by the queen.

"Bring all of our stored food and water to the lord." She the glared at Ena whispered, "this is an order Ena."

Zenn from above, saw all of this, but did not intervene at all.

Soon, Ena ran off towards somewhere. This was where they kept their food before they summoned Zenn. Due to affects of komoru's hammer, most of life has latest been destroyed. Trees, animals and all kinds of living beings have died. So food became a scarce object that is to be treasured.

After a while, Ana returned. In his hands was a few round things covered in animal skin.

When he reached the queen, he gave it to her. The queen then opened the covering and let seven green fruits to roll out. And as Zuri had said, the fruits were indeed small. For the goblins, thes fruits can last then for a few days if they are frugal, but for Zenn, all of them aren't even going fit between the gap of his teeth, literally. Each fruit was as small as a grain of sand after all.

This should have been a problem even for Zenn, but not today. Because he was very eager to try out a certain power he recently gained.

Zenn one of the seven unknown fruits and activated the 'key' in his head.

The moment he did, he felt a stinging pain in his head.

Due to his 'ice mask' the only reaction he showed due to the pain was his eyes slightly squinting.

The goblins of course did not see this. But not because the reaction was too small to notice, but something else had caught their attention.

On Zenn's hand, what seemed like a space distortion was currently taking place. The distortion looked a bit like what one would see when light deviates slight due to heat or refraction.

And maybe because the light was distorting so, the vision of the fruit in Zenn's hands seemed to grow bigger and bigger.

A few seconds later, the distortion stopped, but the fruit did not return to its original size.

The fruit currently occupied Zenn '20 meter' long hand. But even Zenn's large hand was unable to fully cover the green fruit.

Without wasting any time, Zenn bit his teeth into the fruit.
