Three days later.

Jun sat cross-legged, holding his forearm as he stared at his left palm. Around him were various scrolls, all with countless notes written in them.

He had spent the entire time coming up with possible ways the seal could work, pulling all-nighters to test everything out. In the end, he came up with two seals, one for rapid absorption of chakra, and the other for storage.

He had tried many different combinations, even coming up with new seals and tweaking others in the meantime—all to get where he currently was.

Gathering chakra into his palm for the thousandth time, Jun furrowed his brows as he concentrated like never before. 'Please work this time...'

Suddenly, he noticed a small, black dot appearing on his palm. Taken by surprise, his eyes burst open as he struggled to stay calm.

Finally, he made a breakthrough.

Breathing out, he somehow maintained composure and continued infusing chakra into his palm while picturing specific patterns in his head. Slowly, the black dot grew, splitting into three and taking on the shape of magatama jewels.

Jun watched as the seal glowed red before fading away. Exhausted, he threw himself backward and laid down, his chest heaving.

"Finally..." Raising his hand and taking another look at it, the corners of his mouth turned into a small smile. "I did it..."

Getting up, he took all the scrolls and threw them into the fire next to Kakuzu's body, burning any and all evidence.

'Now, all I need to do is test it... It's about time I headed back to Konoha.'

"How could you allow a Chunin to go and subjugate an S-rank criminal!?" Dano started abruptly, in front of Hiruzen, seated in the Hokage's chair. "Even if he's a genius, that's just wasting resources!"

Hiruzen lifted his eyes from the papers on his desk to look at Danzo. "I judged him capable. Do you have any objections?"

"Of course, I do! He's one of our most talented chunin! It's suicide!" Although he said that, Danzo didn't mean any of it. He had already sent one of his subordinates to confirm Jun's death.

"Look, he proved to me that he was more than capable, so I let him go. What is your real purpose for coming here?" Frowning, Hiruzen felt like throwing Danzo out. He was busy, yet this man came to annoy him when he needed it the least.

"..." Narrowing his right eye, Danzo spoke in a cold tone. "Hiruzen... Allow me to oversee the Uchiha-"

"Enough! I knew this was what you wanted. I already told you that the Uchiha would not be under your supervision in the Anbu!" Infuriated, Hiruzen massaged his forehead in an attempt to calm down.

"But Hiruzen... I suspect that they're going to-"

Interrupting his words, the door to the office suddenly opened. Walking in, Jun dragged Kakuzu's corpse by the hair as he threw it in front of the two of them.

With his Sharingan active, he faced Danzo with a dark expression.

"What has my clan done to warrant suspicion? Hm?"

Seeing Kakuzu's corpse, Hiruzen abruptly rose from his seat, his face full of disbelief. "Is that..."

"Yes, it is. I'll take him to the autopsy division so that they can check his head." Jun spoke matter of factly, his eyes still locked on Danzo's figure. "Is there anything else you would like me to do, Lord Hokage?"

"N-no... Once they've confirmed his identity, you're free to collect your reward..." Hiruzen spoke these words out of nature, for his mind would not allow for any other thought process. Although agreed to send Jun out, he believed in his ability to survive... He certainly didn't expect him to carry out the mission successfully.
