Chapter 186

"None, no one," Jennet responded, slapping his fingers that fiddled with her hair.

"Are you sure?" he asked, unsatisfied with her answer.

Jennet grunted as she flipped the bread on a plate and tossed the plate on the counter. The sound of the plate colliding with the marble table was loud and unpleasant.

Noticing the cue, Hue zipped his lips. He inhaled deeply and leaned against the counter.

“Honey, I’m worried about you. I am not angry,” he said, breaking the silence.

Jennet clenched silently as she gripped the frying pans handle, suppressing the bubbling fury in her chest. The conversation with Gomi still lingered in her mind and she was always reminded of it. She wondered if ‘the’ Hue she knew now was still ‘the’ Hue from the past.

“I’m not in the mood to talk,” she replied, tossing a fresh white bread on top of the hot pan. She imagined his face dancing on the hot pan.

“Honey…” Hue moaned, trying to coax her with his usual ‘acting cute’ tactic.
