Zhou Susu's voice trembled as she spoke, her words disjointed.
"It's... it's touching me. I can feel its cold fingers on my skin."
Jiang Lei's mind raced, and he reached into his pocket, retrieving the last talisman he had.
He knew that this was the last talisman but he can't watch Zhou Susu dying.
Without a second thought, he held it up and channeled his energy into it.
The talisman emitted a bright light, illuminating the area around them.
The alley was suddenly empty, and Zhou Susu's trembling ceased.
She stared at Jiang Lei with a mixture of relief and gratitude.
"Thank you," she whispered, her voice shaky.
"I don't know what that was, but... thank you for saving me."
Jiang Lei smiled, his heart still pounding from the adrenaline.
"It's okay. We're here for you."
As the light from the talisman faded, Zhou Susu's expression shifted once again.
