Chapter 19: Bruchi Island(1)

Two hours later, the trio arrived at the shores of Bruchi Island late at night. Vivian and Jack jumped off Fiona's back. Fiona dragged her body up the sandy shores and spat out a sealed bottle.

Jack picked up the sealed bottle and said to Fiona, "You should advance first, I'll watch over you. I'll advance when you're done."

Jack looked across the vast empty shores in front of him and turned to Vivian, "Stay alert. Bruchi Island is a den of criminals. This place is totally lawless and is not under the control of any government."

Vivian stood alert, "Do you mean someone is going to attack us?"

Jack looked around in the darkness. For a vampire, the night is as bright as the day. He positioned himself in a battle stance, "Definitely. I said I am going to give you a test. If you manage to kill one of our attackers, I'll accept you as a student."

Vivian saw something about two hundred meters away moving very fast towards her. It was almost as fast as her, "I can see something running towards me. It looks like a wolf. Why is a wolf running towards me?"

Jack looked in the direction of the wolf. It was closing in on them, "That's not an ordinary wolf, it's a human that transformed into a wolf. It's a mutant like us, a werewolf. I hope you're prepared to kill it."

Vivian fidgeted, "Why is the werewolf trying to kill us?"

Jack moved to stand behind Vivian, "If you survive tonight, I'll tell you the reason."

A few minutes earlier, Tomide was walking aimlessly around the beach of Bruchi Island thinking about his miserable life. He was a superhuman of the mutant pathway. When he picked up that slate of power, he thought was the chosen son of heaven only to discover he was just one of many who picked up a slate of power. After then, he thought since he picked up a slate of power maybe he could be a god and rule the world. It was not until the sixth month of picking up a slate of power that he actually awakened his powers and reach level 1. He escaped from Nicaorh after the government started hunting people like him. He came by Bruchi Island by chance three months ago. He thought that after displaying his powers, the primitive people he assumed to be living on the island would worship and fear him.

Since the day he stepped on the island, he had dare not go to the center of the island. The first person he met on the island was a superhuman of the fire pathway and her name was Ruth. Just like her name, she was very ruthless and also very cunning. She beat the shit out of him and made took all of the money he had on him. She was the most powerful person he had ever met. She was the boss of the outer circle of Bruchi Island. The day she moved into the inner circle of Bruchi Island was the same day they sent her corpse back. The incident scared the shit out of him.

He had always been longing to advance to level 2 after that incident but he had no idea on how to go about.

Then he saw what appeared to be a shark and two humans. He thought he could beat them up and take their belongings before others come. Maybe he could even make them into his lackeys.

He started running towards the woman at the front of the back. He noticed she could see him and was shocked. He thought only a werewolf like him does not need light to see in the darkness. Then he thought, so what if she can see me? I bet she won't even be able to react by the time I knock her down.

Vivian was still standing at the same point. At about ten meters from her front, the werewolf suddenly jumped into the sky to headbutt her. Vivian ran faster than the werewolf and stepped to her right totally out of the reach of the werewolf.

Tomide was surprised that the woman could avoid him but didn't think too much of it. The man standing behind her was not even in a battle stance. The reason he was standing behind her was probably because he was weak. He decided to crash his body into him and crush his bones into pieces. The moment he started to crash from the sky, the next thing he knew was that half of his body was pulverised. He started to lose consciousness, he couldn't understand what happened. He only felt the leg of the man in front of him connect with the lower half of his body.

Vivian couldn't believe what she saw. Jack killed a level 1 with just a kick. She tried to imagine herself in that werewolf's position and realised she would have the same gory ending as the werewolf.
