5 Weapon Compatibility Test

"Katheryne, thank you very much!" If not for the people around, I would have jumped and hugged her thighs. But I restrained myself.

"You don't have to worry about the people behind; they wouldn't know what we were talking about. It's a mechanism that one of the adventurers invented to prevent eavesdropping," Katheryne reassured.

"Thank you, Katheryne." She doesn't know how glad I am. I look at her with appreciation.Just hearing what Paimon said makes me feel relieved.

I don't want a target painted on my head the moment I arrive in this world. I need to become strong to be able to survive.

After that, Lumine registered next. Aside from the same Adventurer level and commission as mine, her level cap was a question mark. That would mean she does not have a limit.

After thanking her again, we left the adventurer guild. We decided to find a weapon shop first and needed some armor.

"I can't wait to wield a Claymore!" I said with a hint of excitement.

Lumine and Paimon smirked; due to my excitement, I did not notice that.

Arriving at the blacksmith shop just a few blocks away from the Adventurer Guild, I could hear the sound of metal being smashed over and over again. 'Aah, Otherworld!'

In front, I saw a burly man hammering a piece of hot steel on the anvil. Sparks of micro-metals splashed every time he hammered down.

Then the burly man noticed us. "Aiyo! Kid, you look scrawny. Are you sure you're in the right place?" He laughed.

I ignored his joke. He is not wrong, even though I practiced martial arts, I'm not buff or look strong at first glance. But my body is well-shaped under this shirt.

"Old man, do you have a Claymore?" I said with a bit of excitement.

"What? Do you want a Claymore? Oy oy oy, don't joke around. Are you sure you aren't looking for a shortsword or something? Are you even Greatsword compatible?" He pointed at me and laughed wildly.

A vein popped on my head, and I wanted to rebuke him but got confused instead.

"Compatible?" I asked.

"Haiya~ Kid, you don't even know such common sense," he patted the crystal ball near him. "Place your hand here and see what weapon compatibility you have. Just because you want something doesn't mean you can have it. You need to know your limits."

I listened and nodded my head. I turned my head to my companions and said, "You know?"

"Hehehe, Ronan, we didn't want to see your enthusiasm crumble, but I planned to tell you. Paimon wants to prank you," Lumine answered truthfully but she still let out a chuckle.

"Oy! Lumine, you traitor. Didn't we agree not to tell him?" Paimon stomps the air.

Seeing this, I let out a sigh. "You got me good."

I placed my hand on the crystal ball; it lit up, and words flew up above the ball. I couldn't read it.

"What does it say?"

"..." Paimon, Lumine, and Buff man.

"Why are you all silent?" I asked again.

"Kid, what are you?" The buff man asked.

"Ronan, you are compatible with every weapon," Lumine said, but her eyes were in disbelief. As a star traveler, she and her brother also need to follow the rules of the world. The world has its laws.

Outside the world, Lumine could use any weapon, but in this world, she could only use a sword.

"Really!?" My eyes sparkled in delight. "Doesn't that mean I can use a Claymore?"

She nods.

"Wow, amazing! Ronan, you are the first human I know who can wield any type of weapon," Paimon giggled midair. She seems very happy. Her words were also weird.

"Old man, I want a Claymore!" I said enthusiastically.

"Tsk. Coming right up." The old man looked behind and shouted. "Dino! Bring the Old Merc's Pal in front."

"You're lucky, kid. I got this 2-star Claymore a week ago." He grinned. A helper rushed out with a claymore in hand. The helper was struggling when carrying the weapon.

As I saw the weapon, I couldn't stop my saliva from slipping.

"Ronan, you are weird," Paimon said.

"Hahaha, I just can't help it. It's a boy's dream! No, a man's romance!" I loudly declared.

Lumine and Paimon looked at each other and shrugged.

Of course, they don't know. They don't know the appeal of the claymore. How overbearing it is! In the face of Claymore, everything is trash to be cut off!

"How much is this, old man?" I asked.

"600 Mora," he replied.

"Lumine, can I borrow some money?" I turned my head to Lumine and asked her with a slight blush on my face.

"Kid! You're whipped!" The buff man laughed wildly again.

My face became even redder. I cursed under my breath. This hateful old guy.

Lumine nods as she hands me the Mora.

"Ronan, why don't you buy every weapon? Why don't you use your compatibility advantage of being able to use every weapon?" Paimon suggested.

I thought for a moment. "That's a great idea, Paimon. But I have to repay Lumine first. Also, I have to get used to using one weapon at a time."

"Of course, I'm smart." Paimon proudly harrumphed.

After inquiring about some things about weapons, our party left the blacksmith to find an Inn to stay. It's almost evening. There are five types of Primary weapons: Sword, Claymore, Polearm, Catalyst, and Bow. There were sub-weapons; these sub-weapons are weaker than Primary weapons and usable by everyone. Like a dagger, for example, its uses vary; it can be used as a weapon, but it can also be used in miscellaneous things. A hammer has many uses. An axe is the same as a hammer. In other weapons, sub-weapons can be used in any situation.

While Primary weapons can only be used in killings.

Apart from weapons, there are armors! In the game, there were no armors, only artifacts. But in this world, there is armor. Furthermore, these armors vary in shape. It can be a thin cloth with absurd defense or bulky armor.

There are also artifacts. Artifacts can only be bought in the Adventurer Guild with Primogems. It appears we could also get them in Domains or treasure chests around Teyvat.

After that, we searched for an Inn to stay for the night. We've been recommended by that old man. The Inn was large, and it's called Calla Inn.

"Welcome. How can I help you?" A cute receptionist welcomed us.

"Do you have a room?" Lumine asked.

"Yes, we have all types of rooms. Shared Room, which is the cheapest one, but you have to share it with others. Single Room for one person. Double Room for two people. We also have a Presidential suite, which is very expensive. There are two types of this room: one for one person and two people," she answered happily.

"Presidential suite, two rooms," Lumine answered.

"Please wait a moment." The girl took out a steel plate with magic engravings. She frowned, then she looked at us and said apologetically, "I apologize, dear customer; it appears all of our single Presidential Suites are occupied."

"Lumine isn't they very expensive. Can't we just have a normal room?" I asked hesitantly.

Lumine shook her head and said. "Normal rooms don't have a bath and don't provide delicious food. The bed is bad, it's rough and uncomfortable. Don't worry about money; I have plenty."

Hearing that, I also felt normal rooms were trash. Doesn't have a bath? No thanks.

Seeing this, the receptionist smiled. "How about getting a double Presidential Suite; we have one available."

Lumine stayed silent.

"Lumine, you can have the presidential suite; let me have a normal room," I said unhurriedly.

"No, it's a waste of money. No matter how much money I have, I don't want to waste it. The two of us can have the Presidential suite. Then, presidential suite it is," she rejected me, she looked unperturbed when she said that.

"Isn't that a bit inappropriate for the two of us?"

A man and woman in a room? I'm not a gentleman, you know. I'm still a man. I'm no Harem protagonist who can ignore scantily dressed women.

Lumine looks at me for a bit. The red hue creeps out on her cheeks. "Pervert..."

My expression became awkward. This is the second time she called me that.

"No, we only need one room. If you have any thoughts, I am sure I will cut something," she said.

I can't help but shiver. Miss, this is what I'm afraid of. Shaking my head. "Okay."
