Two Reasons and Another

Our small group arrived in the center of Watatsumi Island, the place where the divine priestess of the Sangonomiya Clan lives.

I must admit that the scenery around this place is stunning. Its like a merfolks' town, except for the fact that it exists above the surface.

We had a lot of time sightseeing on the way here, so Kokomi didn't hesitate to wake us up from our daydreams, and immediately invited us to come inside her home.

I let Kokomi and the other priestesses prepare everything for our meeting, and sat myself comfortably. My company just followed to both my sides, leaving Paimon floating in the air as usual. The priestesses finished after a while, and the divine priestess herself took the seat in front of me to start our meeting.

I was about to start my small talk when someone suddenly appeared.

"Your Excellency! I heard we have visitors from the Shogunate, I hope you don't mind if I join the meeting." A Shiba Inu or a dog yokai entered the scene. Based on Kokomi's expression, it looked like she didn't plan for this to happen. The disgruntled divine priestess stared at me for confirmation.

"Sure, I think it should be fine, Your Excellency." I teased her with a smirk, gaining a cute blush from her.

'Well shit, there goes my chance for some small talk.' The dog lookin-ass soldier sat down a few seats besides her happily. I guess they are not wrong that a dog's best trait is loyalty to their owners.

"Let me start by introducing ourselves. I am Raiden Lu, a god who desires peace, and the new deity in Inazuma. A-" I was about to continue when somebody interrupted me.

"He is also the husband of the current Electro Archon." A cheeky Makoto highlighted, earning a gasp from the two in front of us.

"I won't let you skip this part. They should know that there's a line here." She whispered to me. I pretended to not understand what she meant by a line. I'm not intentionally making one anyway.

"Ehem! The person who interrupted me is Raiden Makoto, the original Electro Archon Baal, and the twin sister of the current one Raiden Ei or Beelzebub. Dear Kokomi should know this first part already but I'll elaborate, she was weakened drastically during the Archon War. Because of that she had no choice but to let go of her divinity and use a semi-mortal vessel that I made. She is currently working in the Shogunate as the Kanjou Commissioner." I waited for the shocked duo to take in the information before continuing.

"While you should know these two already, the verily trusted traveler Lumine and her companion Paimon, the flying emergency food." I finished our introductions, earning the ire of the floating creature. But she didn't do anything, still scarred from our confrontation earlier.

"My name is Sangonomiya Kokomi, a divine priestess from the Sangonomiya Clan, and the current leader of the Watatsumi Army. This person over here is my most trusted friend, General Gorou." Kokomi introduced themselves gracefully.

'Damn, my man just got friendzoned!' I joked in my thoughts. We continued our greetings while digesting the information currently on the table. We all sat down and a tense atmosphere started to build, since there's currently two gods here. It looks like its my time to shine! I'ma hit them with a good one...

"Two gods in this important meeting huh... If only that snake guy is here so we have three gods like back in the day. And I'm sure he can easily fix this ssssssilent atmosssphere." How do you like them apples?!

"Hehehe..." It started with a cute giggle from the divine priestess, before the others followed, changing the former vibe to a lively one. The doggo is just bewildered about what happened.

"What the hell even was that?! I didn't know you had a talent in telling bad jokes Lu!" Makoto exclaimed while slapping my back. It goddamn hurts! That body of yours is not normal, so you should be careful woman!

"Ssssshut up... It worked so its fine." I shamelessly added. I waited for the laughter to die down so I could continue.

"I'll go straight to the point so both of you can stop being wary of us. We have two reasons for coming here. The first one is our suggested trade between islands, Makoto will handle that with you Kokomi so I hope you get along."

"Thank you for remembering that Lu. I think we will get along so don't worry, the people of Watatsumi owe her for helping us during the Archon War." Kokomi smiled towards Makoto, and she responded with her own.

"And the other one is the old agreement about Yashiori Island being Sangonomiya's territory. I won't be changing that and I came here to help clear the remnants of the former battle, so the island will not be dangerous anymore."

"We are definitely thankful for that, but I don't think thats everything, right?" Their leader questioned with an insightful gaze.

"Sharp as always, Kokomi. Yes you're right, the other reason is to flaunt my status as a god. Even if I announce it, people won't easily believe something until they see it themselves. Its also to help you fix something from your army." She focused herself, after hearing the last sentence.

"You taught your army a warriors will but not fear, and I'm sure you're currently suffering from that. The resistance is strong, but also stubborn. They will fight even though they can't win, and that's not always a good thing. If not for the old alliance and my actions before, the Raiden Shogun would've moved herself. Ei is a warrior, not a leader, and you should know what will be the result if that happened." I finished, waiting for the pale Kokomi to compose herself. Lumine and Paimon also took a deep breath, remembering their confrontation.

"Sigh* Yes, you're right Lu. Even I understand that if the Shogun moved, Sangonomiya would be no more and our land will be similar to Yashiori Island. Thank you, really." Kokomi smiled brightly.

"There's no need for that. The people of Watatsumi Island will always be our allies, and I am your friend Kokomi..." I gently shook my hands with the blushing beauty in front of me and thought.

'Did i just friendzoned myself?!'

'Sigh* Everything went well at least, I was able to distract her with the second reason and hid my personal one. I'll find a way to talk alone with her somehow.'
