I got a weapon

'Ezio Auditore?' Albert thought. 'My first template turns out to be him, huh?'

Albert knew who this man was. He was the playable protagonist of the Game 'Assassin's Creed'. He was the main protagonist of three sequels and single-handedly carried the franchise.

Although there are other protagonists of the game that captured the interests of many players, none would dispute Ezio's influence.

Ezio witnessed his family get executed and swore vengeance against the people that did it. After learning his Assassin heritage, he entered harsh training to pursue his vengeance.

He went from avenging his family through slaughter to uncovering the secrets left behind by Altaïr, the protagonist of the first Assassin's Creed game.

And the rest is history.

Albert had played two games where Ezio was the protagonist. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to complete the final game which was the Revelations.

'System, open my status.' Albert commanded the system.

Suddenly, the previous window disappeared and a new system window appeared.

'This...' When Albert saw his stats, he almost fainted out of shock. 'No way... This guy is so weak he can be killed by wind?!'

He felt like if he were to set off Mondstadt by an inch, he would get himself killed by something like a cat.

Slap!*

Slapping his face with both of his hands, he calmed himself down. 'Don't fret Albert...'

Taking in deep breaths and calming his mind down, he asked the system. 'System, what should I do to increase the progress bar of my current template?'

Suddenly, a new window appeared in front of him and covered the status window.

[A new quest has been issued!]

[Name: Hell]

[Description: In order to train your body and inherit Ezio's skills, you must undergo hellish training!]

[Objective: Go to the stormbearer's mountain and isolate yourself as you train.]

[System note: The system chose this location as monsters roam a lot here. The host shall be trained to survive in the wilderness while fighting off monsters.]

"..." Albert looked at the new quest the system had given him with a blank expression.

'I'm gonna die.' He thought to himself with a sorrowful smile.

'I'll first like to thank my parents for—' Just as Albert was praying, he remembered something.

'Oh right... Albert has no parents.' Due to possessing Albert's body, memories of his life merged with his current self.

In the memory, Albert's parents died due to a fire when he was a child. His aunt took him in and provided education until Albert was able to get a job at the restaurant called Good Hunter.

A year after getting a job with decent payment, he decided to move out of his aunt's house.

All that happened when he was only a teen.

In contrast to himself in the game, Albert was a very capable individual that had a good education.

Unfortunately, he fell into the rabbit hole of being a simp.

'If Albert exists back on earth, he'll undoubtedly be a simp to some vtuber or something...' Albert thought.

According to the memory he has, Albert encountered a danger that caused him to experience a near-death experience.

It was only when he saw an angel-like girl healing him and telling him that everything will be okay that he truly fell into the rabbit hole.

He started knowing more about the girl and found out that her name was Barbara.

As for what happens next... It's all history.

He became her so-called number one fan and founded the Barbara Fan Club, which, interestingly enough, has a lot of members that include some knights from the Knights of Favonius.

Looking at his hand, Albert tightened his hand and nodded. 'Don't worry, Albert.'

'Although I didn't like you in the game... I must respect you for your tenaciousness.'

"Alright, I've decided." Albert muttered. "From now on, I won't approach Barbara."

But soon, a small smile appeared on his face. "But instead, make it the other way around."

Making up his mind, he decided to take a bath and start his training.

Since it was Sunday, he has no work today.

* * *

Albert took a bath and ate his breakfast. He wore some casual clothing and picked up his money.

He first headed to Wagner, the blacksmith to buy a weapon.

Perhaps because of his different vibe today, the people who sometimes chase him away from the Cathedral ignored him. Not that he minds it.

Arriving in front of Wagner's shop, he looked around for a bit. 'Let me see... Hmm...'

'I wonder what...'

However, his thoughts were interrupted by a voice. "What do you want?"

Clank!*

Clank!*

Moving his head and looking at the man that was smithing a blade, Albert shrugged. "To be honest, I don't know. I'm looking for a good weapon but I can't choose."

Wagner, who was busy hammering a sword, briefly looked at Albert and shook his head. "Kid, if you want to fight something with a weapon, it's better for you to give up. Looking at you, perhaps even a small slime can beat you up."

'No, something like a wind can beat me up.' Albert thought to himself as he corrected Wagner.

"Don't worry, it's not for me. It's for my friend that wants to become an adventurer." Albert made a random excuse. "He said that he'll use whatever I'll choose, so you know..."

"Hmm..." Wagner stopped hitting on the blade he was smithing and looked at Albert.

After a brief period of time, he sighed. "Well, if your 'friend' wants a weapon, I suggest they should start with a sword."

"Alright, I'll buy one." Albert instantaneously said.

Wagner shrugged and called his apprentice. "Schulz, give this kid a longsword!"

"Yes, Master!" The apprentice named Schulz said before going into the smithy.

Soon, he came back with a longsword.

"Here you go, please be careful. It's a sword made by master, so it's sharp and top-quality." Schulz said as he carefully placed the sword in Albert's hands

Albert didn't doubt him as Wagner is known for making only the best weapons and not those cheap and mass-produced ones.

Looking at the longsword, a sudden system window appeared in front of him.

[Name: Silver Longsword]

[Substats: None]

[Description: A sword for chasing away demons. Everyone knows it's made of a silver alloy, not pure silver.]

[Rating: 2-Star]

'So I can see the stats of items, huh?' Albert found this feature rather convenient.

Picking up the second and testing its weight, he nodded. "I'll buy it. And if possible, a scabbard too, please."

Schulz nodded and took out a leather scabbard from the smithy. As a smithy, they always have a scabbard in store as customers always buy them.

"That would be 650 Mora in total, please." Schulz said

Albert reached into his pocket and pulled out a leather pouch. He opened it and took out the Mora. "Here."

"Thank you." Schulz said before claiming the money and going back to the smithy.

'Alright, now that I have a sword, it's time to go to the stormbearer's mountain.'

Just then, he remembered something. 'Oh right, system, can I... Perhaps... Hire an adventurer to escort me?"

[Answer. You cannot.]

'I see...' Albert internally sighed. 'Oh well, I'll just have to be careful about encountering any monster.'

Having thought of that, he decided to walk away with a sword on a scabbard.

However, just as he was about to exit Mondstadt, Wagner's voice reached him. "Boy, make sure to tell your 'friend' to be careful. There is a lot of danger outside Mondstadt."

"I will." Albert nodded before continuing his walk.

Seeing Albert's departing figure, Wagner sighed before returning to his work.
