8 Side story: Zhongli's interview

A thunderstorm caused by a hurricane storm is currently happening throughout Liyue Harbor. The roads and paved paths have only a few people walking on them and some shops are not open.

However, despite this bad weather, business is still going on in Liyue Harbor. It's not called a trading hub for no reason, after all.

And in Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, the 77th Director, Hu Tao is currently interviewing a person that wants to work for them; Zhongli.

"I apologize for my late arrival." Zhongli said

Hu Tao waved her hand and replied, "No, no, it's fine."

She then took out a clipboard and asked: "Now then, Mr. Zhongli, why do you want to work for Wangsheng Funeral Parlor?"

Zhongli didn't hesitate and answered swiftly, "Because I am looking for a job."

Hu Tao nodded and asked another question: "Alright~, Why did you come to us for a job?"

"Because I don't have a job." Zhongli said with a deadpan expression.

Hu Tao retained her smile but was a bit frustrated with Zhongli's repetitive answers. She calmed herself and asked again: "No, I mean why did you choose our Wangsheng Funeral Parlor?"

"Because you're hiring people for the job." Zhongli once again said with the same deadpan expression.

Hu Tao sighed and changed the topic. "Northland Bank is also hiring, why did you choose us?"

Zhongli made a confused expression and slightly tilted his head and said, "Because I choose this one...?"

This time, Hu Tao's patience was running low, and just smiled while irritated. "I'm asking you why!"

"Because I can't work for both companies?" Zhongli once again said.

Hu Tao felt like Zhongli was playing with her and gritted her teeth. "No, I mean why and how did we attract your interest here?!"

Zhongli stayed silent for a while and made a thinking gesture before answering calmly. "Because you were hiring."

Hu Tao felt like slapping Zhongli with her little ghost friend right now but resisted the urge. She once more changed the topic and said: "Alright then, what is your expertise that can help Wangsheng Funeral Parlor?"

"I am knowledgeable of various things and find the position of consultant preferable." Zhongli said

"Alright then, as a consultant, what will you do?" Hu Tao asked

"Consult?" Zhongli deadpan replied

Hu Tao expected this response and sighed again. 'Seriously, this guy...'

She changed the topic again and once more asked: "Then how about the sales? How will you help us with that?"

"I have a different selling method." Zhongli replied calmly

"And what method is that?"

"A different one."

Hu Tao finally lost it and just slammed the table really hard. "FINE! YOU'RE HIRED! YOU BETTER SHOW YOURSELF HERE BY TOMORROW OR I'LL FIND AND PUNCH YOUR FACE!"

Zhongli nodded and calmly left the room leaving the raging Hu Tao.

'I can't believe someone actually infuriated me...!' She thought

Her decision to hire him, however, will not make her regret anything as he would prove to be a good consultant.
