3 Terraria 101

Heyo, thanks for tuning into another chapter! Before it starts though, just wanted some public opinions from those familiar with the Calamity mod for Terraria. In your opinion, are any of the characters planetary in terms of power? The lore gets changed quite often, so it's hard for anything to really stick.

I assumed that perhaps Moon Lord, back when he had his full power prior to being pushed back by the Auric Dragons, was probably near planetary level. Probably couldn't destroy a planet with a single strike, but could definitely bring it to ruins eventually.

Basically, what enemies/beings in Terraria Calamity do you think would absolutely demolish Genshin characters that we can at least somewhat accurately judge?

[O]-----------------------[O]

Keston had to admit, having someone helping him out for once was a much better feeling than he initially thought. Of course for the sentimentality, but also because he noticed just how much easier it was for him to actually focus on the main target.

Amber's bow wasn't exactly the best, it was honestly only a bit better than the Wooden Bow. While her arrows did minimal to no damage whatsoever to the Eye of Cthulhu, it was still powerful enough to eventually take down the servants due to her Pyro applications.

Fortunately, this world was just as abundant with elemental forces as Teyvat was, if not even more so. Therefore, being able to gather and utilise elemental energy here in this world proved to be no issue at all from the looks of it.

In fact, Keston was pretty sure Amber's arrows were more powerful here in this world.

If what he had learnt about these so-called Vision was correct, they were essentially blessings from the gods which allow the possessor to manipulate existing elemental forces into specific tailored elements. In Amber's case, that was Pyro.

Unlike in Teyvat, he could see that Amber's arrows were coated in a fiercer and brighter flame compared to when she fired them in Teyvat. He was uncertain of the reason, but it may be because this world may possess far more elemental forces than Teyvat.

That, or the elemental forces here in Terraria were purer in a sense.

In any case, even though Amber's arrows were amplified quite significantly, it still wasn't enough of an enhancement to allow her to deal any considerable damage to the Eye of Cthulhu itself. Though, with her help with the servants, Keston was quickly driving attacks into the boss.

The Eye of Cthulhu wasn't that difficult of an enemy, both back in the game and reality here. It's attack patterns were very predictable, so Keston was already quite confident of his victory even if Amber wasn't assisting him as she was now.

"W-What's happening?"

"It's entering it's second phase, just focus on those servants!"

"Got it!"

Keston looked up as the Eye of Cthulhu seemed to be shaking violently in the air, it then quickly began spinning rapidly on the spot as what looked to be fleshy matter splashed onto the ground directly beneath it.

After it finally stopped its abnormal actions, what was revealed made both Amber and Keston want to honestly hurl. It no longer looked like the eyeball it previously was, the pupil it once had was now gone and replaced with a large gaping mouth with countless layers of sharp teeth.

Unlike in the game, Keston was able to get a clear view of how truly disgusting the Eye of Cthulhu really was. The countless rows of teeth, with most of them coated in veils of blood and chunks of flesh matter that had not fallen off properly after the boss entered its second phase.

"Th-That is so gross...!"

"Just be glad you don't have to fight it!" Keston wasted no time as he began swinging his Enchanted Sword every now and then as blades of light seemed to fire out and strike the boss. 'If memory serves, it's damage has skyrocketed in exchange for its defense. From the looks of it, speed probably has increased too. All I need to do is dodge and go ham.'

Instead of going on the initiative, Keston decided to take advantage of the Eye of Cthulhu's more beast-like nature as it began charging at him relentlessly. Narrowly dodging each dash sent his way, he'd strike it with his swords whenever it passed by him.

This was what made less intelligent bosses so much easier to deal with compared to others, their movements tend to be rather predictable and can usually be taken advantage of. The Eye of Cthulhu, especially in its second phase, was a perfect example.

Even if Keston didn't manage to dodge completely with a few of the dashes, the sparks that flew off of him as a result of being damaged would at least deal some damage to the boss. He continued this simple tactic, slowly but surely chipping away at the Eye of Cthulhu's life.

'Just like with the other bosses I've already fought, I could really use a damn health bar...' Unlike in the game, there was no gauge to tell him how close he was to defeating an enemy. 'In any case, considering how desperate its becoming, it should hopefully be nearing its end!'

Glancing slightly over to Amber, he could see that she was handling the servants relatively well. Even with their sheer number, she was managing. If any of them did get too close, he saw how she ever now and then projected a shield of Pyro to protect herself.

He could see that defensive tactics certainly were not her specialty, the shield itself looked a bit unstable and would probably fall after a few attacks. In any case, it looked to be holding up well enough for her to deal with the servants before they could penetrate the shield.

"Keston, I may need your help soon!" Amber gritted her teeth as she quickly loaded another arrow before finishing off another one of the servants. "I don't exactly have an infinite number of arrows in my Vision's pocket space!"

"Don't worry, I'll finish this guy off quick!"

[Eye of Cthulhu has been defeated]

After delivering his final two simultaneous slashes, the Eye of Cthulhu seemingly exploded into countless chunks of large flesh that thankfully disappeared into nothingness after a few seconds. Upon the defat of the boss, the previous message could be seen by both Amber and Keston.

Keston immediately turned to check on Amber, sighing in relief as all of the servants seemed to also begin to disappear after the main entity was defeated. This allowed Amber to finally relax as she lowered her bow while giving a deep exhausted breath.

"Glad that's over with..." Amber sighed before looking to see Keston over by the open field, to which she received a thumbs up after her gaze was noticed by the other party. Smiling, Amber gave a thumbs up back as well. "Wait, I'm coming over!"

Quickly making herself down and back through the window of the wooden mansion, Amber quickly ran her way over to where Keston was. She noticed the pile of strange items on the ground next to him, but she ignored that for now.

"Alright, I need an explanation!" Amber placed both her hands on her hips as she seemingly demanded this. "What in the world is going on?! Where even are we?!"

"Alright, calm down." Keston sighed as already knew explaining this was going to be a serious pain in the ass. He did have intentions on perhaps telling her in the future, but it wasn't set in stone. At the very least, he didn't need to decide anymore. "Let me collect everything and we'll talk in the house."

"Alright... but you better tell me everything!"

[O]-----------------------[O]

After gathering all of the drops from the Eye of Cthulhu, Keston didn't immediately check all of the spoils in detail as he was now sitting down in one of the rooms inside the mansion. While the building itself lacked quite a bit of furniture, it still had some couches and such around here and there.

Keston then proceeded to give Amber the general jist of what the situation she had found herself in truly was, telling her things such as how this was an entirely other world, and also that it was within this world that he had obtained the materials he's donated to her.

Although Amber certainly was surprised by what she was being told, she thankfully didn't seem completely shocked.

"I'm surprised you're taking this so well." Keston couldn't help but raise one eyebrow curiously after seeing her lack of reaction. It seems that the concept of other worlds wasn't entirely foreign in Teyvat. "I was expecting a more exaggerated reaction."

"Ah, don't get me wrong! I am surprised." Amber quickly responded as she waved her hands in front of herself. "Though, most of things I've learnt about stuff like that come from papers written by The Steambird in Fontaine. But to think that you could create portals from Teyvat to a world far in the sky..."

"Well, it's more from Terraria to Teyvat... wait, what'd you say? I think we have different perspectives on what worlds are."

"Huh?"

"If I'm understanding you right, you believe a world refers to other planets, or celestial bodies, that exist high above the sky you see everyday, right?" Keston asked as Amber responded with a nod of her head. "If that's the case, what do you believe a universe is?"

"A universe?" Amber blinked. "Isn't that a term for all the planets?"

"Well, you're not wrong. There is more to it though." Keston responded as he crossed his arms. He was pretty sure Amber, and most likely other inhabitants of Teyvat, had a different scope as to what a universe was compared to him. "Terraria, this world, is from another universe. Basically, a place you can't reach even by travelling to the stars."

"Hmm, I think I understand... not really though." Amber rubbed the back of her head. "Well, all that matters is that I get the general idea! Anyway, all of those materials you ended up giving to Mondstadt were all harvested from this world?"

"That's right." Keston nodded in response. "It's much easier to collect materials in this world compared to Teyvat, the basic materials that is. That's due to a number of factors, let it be the abundance of said materials, as well as the unique laws and physics of this world."

Amber tilted her head in confusion to this. "What do you mean?"

Keston didn't answer verbally, instead opening up his inventory before selecting the basic wood he had. Amber blinked when she saw the item appear in Keston's hand. Compared to actual blocks, the ones that appear on the person's hand is several times smaller than when placed.

With a swipe of his hand, Amber watched as a four-foot tower of wood was instantly constructed next to the both of them. Although confused of his intentions, she remained silent as Keston took out a pickaxe with a similar theme to his armour.

"Wh-What...?" Amber could only blink blankly as she saw Keston destroy the wooden block beneath the top block, but what confused her greatly was that the latter was still floating motionlessly in the air, not having moved an inch. "How? What? I don't get it!"

"Yeah, let's just say that if you're serious about what you said about wanting to stay and helping me out here as the form of payment for the materials I gave you, there's is quite a lot of things you'll need to learn and do. Throwing common sense out of the window is but one of them."

"I-I... this is crazy. Well, where do I start?"

"Glad you asked. It's time for Terraria 101."
