The deep voice, heavy as a brick, made Xianyu put down the paper in his hands.

Turning around, he asked, "What's up?"

Xianyu knew about Lanjie's approach, but this small talk had an unknown purpose.

"Young man, don't be so indifferent. Smile more, and I believe you'll capture the hearts of many young ladies."

Capturing the hearts of young ladies? Xianyu wasn't too keen on that.

"As the head of the Liryue Adventurer Association, you shouldn't be this idle, right?"

Lanjie looked at the young man in front of her and then dropped the playful tone.

"I noticed over there that you seemed to be looking for a mission. Now it seems my guess was correct."

"Let's do this. Tell me the information you're looking for, and let's see if I can help you out."

"You know, as the head, there are some privileges."

There's no such thing as sudden kindness in this world; if there is, there's definitely an ulterior motive.

"Talking to smart people is easy. I do have a small matter where I need your assistance."

After saying that, she pushed the girl next to her forward.

Sure, the mission seemed straightforward, but that's assuming no unexpected situations pop up, especially in the perilous Absolute Cloud Peak. Trusting there won't be any surprises? Xianyu wasn't buying it.

Lanjie replied, "As the former young master of the Li family, we know about your past, and your recent performance makes you someone we can trust."

"Besides, with your strength, there shouldn't be too many problems along the way."

"As for the information, like I said, I won't disappoint you with what you want to know."

Xianyu looked at her confident face, pondering for a moment. He wasn't doubting her capability, just surprised at the extent of her authority as the head.

Lanjie took a glance and agreed that discussing this matter here wasn't ideal. The trio left the hall and found a quiet room.

In the secluded chamber, Xianyu got straight to the point, "No need for small talk. Since you're so confident, I'll directly tell you the information I need."

"As the head of the Adventurer Association branch, you should be familiar with creatures like 'Abyss Mages,' right?"

"I'm interested in their elemental manipulation methods. I've heard their power comes from a kind of branch, so I want to know their locations."

Lanjie's expression changed slightly upon hearing about Abyss Mages. She knew about these creatures, even some more secretive details.

However, she wasn't sure why this young man in front of her was looking for them.

She didn't buy the "curiosity" excuse Xianyu gave. If she believed that, she'd be a fool.
