The road from Mondstadt to the new city was starting to become more than just a path—it was becoming a symbol of progress, connection, and hope. Satoshi watched as the workers moved about, busy as ever. This day, however, brought a modern twist that made construction a lot more… interesting.
Ever since the mobile phones had become available, people in Mondstadt had been quick to adopt the new technology. What started as a curiosity had quickly turned into a necessity. The construction site was no exception—everyone seemed to be walking around with a phone in hand, snapping pictures, taking notes, and even texting one another about which tools needed to be moved where.
Satoshi couldn't help but chuckle at the sight. He never thought he'd see Noelle, with her serious, determined nature, standing at the construction site while texting instructions to one of the workers. He walked over to her, curious.
"Hey, Noelle," Satoshi called, a smile on his face. "Who are you texting?"
Noelle looked up from her phone, her cheeks turning slightly pink. "Oh, Satoshi! I'm just sending some instructions to Alwin—he's on the other side of the site, and it's faster to just message him than run all the way over there."
Satoshi raised an eyebrow, nodding. "That's actually pretty smart. I guess the phones are coming in handy."
Noelle smiled, her eyes shining. "They really are! It's made communication so much easier. I can let everyone know what they need to do without having to run back and forth."
Satoshi glanced around, noticing Amber a little way off. She was sitting on a stack of wood, her phone held up in front of her as she recorded a video. Satoshi walked over, curious.
"Hey, Amber, what are you doing?" he asked, peering over her shoulder.
Amber grinned, waving at the phone camera. "I'm making a video to document our progress! I figured it'd be fun to show everyone how far we've come. Plus, it'll be a great way to keep everyone motivated."
Satoshi smiled, nodding. "That's a great idea. I bet everyone will love seeing how the road and the new city are coming along."
Amber gave him a thumbs-up. "Exactly! I'm calling it 'Amber's Construction Chronicles.' Gotta keep everyone in the loop, you know?"

As the morning continued, the construction site was bustling with activity. Workers moved earth with the help of the bulldozers, while cranes lifted beams into place for the next section of the road. Satoshi was overseeing the progress when he heard a familiar voice calling his name.
"Satoshi! Satoshi! Look!"
He turned around to see Klee running towards him, her phone held up in front of her as she giggled. She stopped in front of him, holding the phone out so he could see the screen. It was a picture she had taken of Dodoco sitting on top of one of the construction machines, wearing a tiny construction hat.
Satoshi laughed, shaking his head. "Klee, that's adorable. You're really getting the hang of that phone, huh?"
Klee nodded enthusiastically. "Yep! Dodoco and I are taking lots of pictures. We're making an album to show everyone when the city is done!"
Satoshi ruffled her hair, smiling. "I can't wait to see it. Just make sure Dodoco stays safe, okay?"
"Okay, Satoshi!" Klee saluted before running off again, her laughter echoing across the construction site.

The midday sun was high in the sky when Venti arrived, as usual making an entrance that no one could ignore. He strolled in with his lyre slung over his back and a phone in his hand. He approached the group of workers who were taking a break, a wide grin on his face.
"Alright, everyone! Gather round!" Venti called, waving his phone in the air. "I've got something special for you all today—a live performance, streamed directly to your phones!"
The workers looked at each other, a mix of confusion and amusement on their faces. Venti climbed up onto a stack of bricks, his lyre in hand, and held up his phone as he began to play.
"Welcome to Venti's Roadside Concert! Today, we're playing a special tune to keep those spirits high and those construction machines rolling!"
Satoshi stood a little way off, shaking his head in disbelief. He turned to Jean, who was watching with her arms crossed, an amused smile on her face.
"Only Venti would think of live-streaming a concert at a construction site," Satoshi said, chuckling.
Jean nodded, her smile growing. "He certainly has a way of keeping everyone entertained. And I have to admit, it's working. Look at them—everyone's laughing."
Satoshi looked around, seeing the workers gathered in a semicircle, their phones held up as they watched Venti's performance. Laughter and cheers rang out as Venti danced around, his fingers moving effortlessly over the strings of his lyre.
"Alright, Venti," Satoshi said under his breath, smiling. "You win this round."

By late afternoon, the work on the road was well underway. The construction machines moved with precision, the workers directing them with practiced skill. Satoshi was overseeing the placement of a series of concrete barriers when he noticed Albedo standing a little way off, his phone held up as he took pictures of the construction site.
Satoshi walked over, curious. "Taking some pictures, Albedo?"
Albedo looked up, nodding. "Indeed. I find it fascinating to document the progress. It's like watching an experiment unfold—each step building on the previous one, creating something new."
Satoshi nodded, glancing at the pictures on Albedo's phone. They were detailed, capturing the machinery, the workers, and the growing road in a series of carefully framed shots. "You've got a good eye. These are great."
Albedo smiled, his gaze returning to the construction. "Thank you, Satoshi. I think it's important to capture the process, not just the result. It helps us appreciate the journey."
Satoshi looked out at the construction site, the road stretching out toward the horizon, and nodded. "Yeah. You're right. It's all about the journey."

As the sun began to set, the workers gathered around for their end-of-day meeting. Satoshi stood in front of them, his phone in hand as he checked the notes he'd taken throughout the day.
"Alright, everyone," Satoshi called out, his voice carrying over the quieting construction site. "Great work today. We made a lot of progress on the road, and the foundation for the new buildings is coming along nicely. I'm proud of all of you."
The workers cheered, their faces glowing with pride. Venti, never one to miss an opportunity for a dramatic finish, climbed up onto one of the construction machines, his phone held up as he began to play a triumphant tune.
*With machines that hum and phones in hand,*
*We're building a future on this land.*
*With laughter, music, and progress true,*
*A new city rises, thanks to you.*
Satoshi smiled as he listened, his gaze drifting to the road that stretched out before them. It was still a long way from being finished, but every day they were getting closer—one step at a time, one brick at a time.
Jean walked up beside Satoshi, her eyes on Venti as he performed. "We've come a long way," she said softly. "And with everyone working together, I know we'll see this through."
Satoshi nodded, his heart full. "Yeah. We're building more than just a city. We're building a place where people can connect, where they can share their lives. And that's worth all the hard work."
Jean smiled, her eyes filled with determination. "To the road ahead, and the future we're building."
"To the future," Satoshi echoed, his voice filled with hope.
As the stars began to twinkle above, the construction site grew quiet, but the sense of camaraderie and purpose remained. The road to the new city was being built, and with every step, they were not just building a path—they were building a future where everyone could belong.
