Chapter 1: The Outlander

Aether sat on a rock in the beach, he looked at the ocean which was waving back and forth. It had already been a week since he landed in this world he calls strange.

Frustration was written all over his face, grabbing a pebble from the ground, he threw the pebble towards the ocean with a frustrated sigh.

"Damn it... where the hell are you Lumine?" Aether asked no one in particular, standing up, he muttered. "Well, I'm running out of food and eating fish for a whole week is getting old, guess I'll have to hunt a chicken or something."

Grabbing a dull looking sword which he got after seeing it burried under a sand, he began to walk outside of the beach he called "Safe Zone".

Aether started to stray away from the beach longer, taken by the "new" things he saw which were NOT sands and shells. He was getting sick of the same view over and over again while doing the same routine, but his gut tells him that the beach is the safest area for now, and he might encounter someone there.

Walking for a couple more miles, Aether finally saw an animal, it looks like a wild boar. Saliva drooled from his lips as he imagined himself devouring the meat of the boar.

Shaking off the imagination, he wiped the drool off his lips. Tightly holding his blade, he stepped on a rock, jumping off of said rock, while his blade above his head.

The boar looked back, unaware of its demise. Noticing a shadow above that is slowly covering it, it looked up, its eyes widening. The boar was too late to react and was too shocked to move, causing the blade to successfully hit.

*Pak!*

The boar squealed in surprises and pain as it slid back. Blood started to drip from its head, it glared at Aether who looked at him with shock.

"This guys are tougher from the ones in Earth, well whatever. No one would stand between my hungry stomach and those boar's meat!"

Aether shouted those words with his eyes burning with determination, he pointed his sword towards the boar who continues to glare at him.

"Prepare to be devoured!"

Aether ran towards the boar, his eyes full of hunger and determination. The boar screamed with determination before charging at Aether, its face showed the determination of a being who refuses to be devoured.

Aether striked the boar with his sword who blocked with its tooth.

'The hell?! Is his teeth made out of steel!?'

Turning around, Aether grabbed the tooth of the boar with his left hand while his right hand gripped his sword tightly.

Aether slammed the boar into the ground, before carrying it and throwing it towards the air with a grunt due to its weight.

Gripping his sword tightly with two hands, who stepped and jumped off a rock, before slashing the falling boar in half.

*Shiiing*

*Splash!*

The blood spew out of the boars body as its body landed on the ground making the noise of a large thud. Aether landed safely on the rock, before turning around with his right hand holding his sword over his shoulders.

"Hmm? The sight of the boar's half body reminded me of a certain someone. Well whatever. I Should go back to the beach before night time."

Aether carried the boar's bodies, the two of it over his shoulder while his sword hang from his waist.

"I miss my spacial storage, if only I still have my ability."

Sighing sadly, Aether coultinues to walk towards the beach in the hopes of returning. Unfortunately, the sun had already set before he could do so, but fortunately, he found a lake where he cleaned the boar's bodies.

Placing the bodies on the ground, Aether gathered some dry sticks to create a camp fire before he skinned the boar.

"I can make something out of this hide, maybe a pouch or something."

Putting the hides aside, Aether started to cut the boar's bodies into several sqaure pieces. Piercing the ones he would eat with sharp sticks, before putting most of the meat that he won't eat into the hide where he wrapped it.

After the boar's meat was cooked due to the fire, Aether wasted no time but devoured the meat.

"Its been so long since I tasted something so delicious! God this is much better than fish!"

Aether continues to devour his food, not minding his sorroundings at all. It must have been a surprise because no one and nothing has been attacking him.

Well, Hilichurls tried to attack him while eating, but something they saw behind the traveler terrified them.

After devouring all the meat, he sat on the rock with a satisfied expression. Burping loudly, he carried and tied the hide containing all the remaining meat into a tree branch where he also decided to sleep.

"Well, today was certainly great. But I'll to go back to the safe zone though, welp, I need a good sleep just to do that."

Aether closed his eyes as his tiredness slowly overcame him and he slowly fell asleep. Unbeknownst to him, the spirit of a gigantic figure had been watching him ever since he walked out of the beach.

"Yes, his body would be very compatible with my power. I also sense something within him, he's a much greater successor than the ones in Natlan."

The figure spoke with a deep before closing its eyes, "We shall meet in your dreams, Aether." The spirit began fading into dust, before completely disappearing in thin air.
