The Alpha.

It had been over half an hour of me searching when I stumbled upon my target, the Alpha.

During this search, I saw more than 40 wolves, and that's crazy. Anyway, I found this one hiding behind the small boulder behind the arena of Andrius.

It was much bigger than the other wolves. Its fur was turning slightly blue, and it was easily as tall as me; it was a big, big wolf.

The wolf's claws were long and sharp, its fangs jutting out of its mouth, eyes filled with savage anger. It exuded cryo and anemo energy, almost as if it were in every cell of its body.

Honestly, with the way it was exuding cryo and anemo energy, I should have found it earlier, but I guess I still haven't gotten the grasp of how the elements feel.

Now, listen to me. I wasn't sure if I could beat this wolf. Sure, I had superhuman physical abilities, but they weren't even that great, not even comparable to someone like the traveler, and I didn't have anything else. No elements, no alchemy, no abyssal energy, nothing. All I had was my body and an inefficient Infinity.

That said, this wolf was not scared of attacking me, unlike the others. It lunged at me the moment I turned over it, but I managed to dodge in time.

"Let's see what you got there," I said and held out my hand, concentrating.

"Blue," I murmured, and a small ball of blue energy formed in front of my palm, forcing my will over it. I commanded it to move towards the direction of the wolves, and it followed my command.

As soon as the ball got near the wolf, blue had its effects, and the wolf was immediately being sucked into the ball alongside the mass around it. It tried to jump away but was struggling to do so.

Grinning, I commanded the ball to move the boulder as fast as I could to slam the wolf there, but my control didn't last long, and the ball spasmed and moved around as I failed to contain the energy flow of blue, moving towards the jungle instead, destroying 6-7 trees before dissipating.

Although it didn't go as I planned, it was effective nonetheless. The wolf was injured and bleeding, but it wasn't enough for a beast like it to fall.

Swiftly, it moved towards me and leaped high into the sky and lunged towards me.

Shit, if only I had better control over my technique!

I moved back, and the wolf landed on the ground where I was before. I took out a knife and raised it, aiming to stab the face of the wolf.

Unfortunately, the wolf moved out of the trajectory of my hand and slashed at my leg and moved forward to bite my stomach and rip my intestine out.

I jumped back as fast as I could, saving myself. I held my left leg as it bled, my eyes boring into the wolf's.

The wolf didn't spare me a second and immediately lunged again to attack me, just like it should. After all, I wouldn't have mercy on it.

I grinned; no matter how much power it possessed, it lacked the intelligence of humans, and its power was not yet enough to cover that gap, although I am sure it would've beat any other regular human even if they were armed with ease.

I gripped my knife and struck the wolf's neck with all my might as it lunged towards me. Its skin was thick and tough, although the knife didn't go that deep, it was sure to have caused a grave wound, one enough to kill if not given proper medical treatment immediately.

The wolf howled in pain and slashed at my arm and moved back, stumbling. Suddenly, cryo energy started coming out of the wolf, and the bleeding stopped. It greeted its teeth at me as its eyes became even more deadly, and cryo covered its fangs.

Well, fuck me.

Shit. Shit. Shit. Two of my limbs were injured and bleeding; if the wolf didn't kill me, the loss of blood would. And the gash on my arm was not small at all, and this wolf just... Covered its wound with ice? It doesn't matter; its bleeding stopped, and it surely wasn't the one in danger right now. I was the one in danger.

I grabbed my knife and aimed to stab the wolf's eye, it dodged and raised his claws, ready to slash at my face.

I ducked and stabbed the wolf's stomach, pushing it all the way in.

Crying out in pain, the wolf slashed my back and leapt back with the knife in its stomach. My back now had a big gash and another part of my body was blooding, but it was worth it.

I grinned when I saw black blood leak out from where I stabbed the wolf, I struck the liver. Sure, maybe he could heal it, but not with the knife there and he didn't have time to take the knife out somehow as he still had to fight me, and he wouldn't survive since his liver was damaged.

The wolf howled in pain and again channelled cryo energy to cover the wound but it didn't work, the knife was still there. If it tried to force out the knife with cryo energy, it would only damage his liver further, and it seemed to know that.

Growling, it turned around and prepared to run. Fortunately, I carried more than one knife with me.

Just as it raised it's paw and was about to run, I threw a knife and it was on target, stabbing his leg. The wolf fell down, crying out in pain.

I grinned as blood trickled out of my mouth, GG my man. I walked over and looked at the wolf.

The wolf looked at me and snarled at me, greeting it's teeth in warning, but unable to move.

My eyes bored into the wolf's, trying to assert my dominance, I won't help it live if it attacked me.

With a sigh, I bent down and held the stomach of the wolf with my hand. It was too valuable to just let it die, i would surely get some sort of reward for it.

I slowly pressed the area where the knife was, careful not to press on the liver, and slowly started pulling out the knife, making sure not to cause any further damage to the organs. The wolf whimpered and tried to move but I pushed his head down and slowly pulled out the knife. As soon as I pulled out the knife, the wolf immediately channelled cryo energy and the bleeding gradually stopped and ice covered the wound, a being like him would eventually heal the inner wounds with his regenerative ability.

I looked at the wolf, looking for any sign of retaliation or preparation to attack before I pulled out the knife in it's leg, I wasn't going to save it if it was gonna attack me, but it would be too weakened anyway and I would just break it's leg if it tried anything.

Slowly, I gripped the knife and pulled it out of it's leg, it whimpered and as soon as the knife was out, he again covered the wound with ice to stop the bleeding.

I looked down at the wolf and he made no attempt of attacking me, he just laid there, staring at me.

I reached down and placed my hand on it's head, it moved it's head, looking at me, but made no attempt on attacking me.

That's when I remembered that people can summon weapons in this world, so I must be capable of summoning an animal, right?

If this wolf was gonna join me, I had to give him a name.

I looked at the wolf, pondering about what name I should give him. That's when I came to a conclusion,

"Fenrir."
