Chapter 18

"Searing Onslaught!"

Diluc shouted and activated his elemental skill. Many flames spread from his hands to the sword, and the previously swirling fire around the blade became even more vigorous.

The sword looked like it was burning.

The cryo abyss mage turned around and tried raising its staff to block the attack that fell from the sky.

But to no avail, the staff couldn't resist the flames. Therefore, the fire swallowed up the abyss mage in a blink of an eye.

In terms of hard power, there is a big difference between the abyss mage and Diluc.

The abyss mage's whole body was smashed into a stone pillar, making it directly unconscious. The flames also burned the robes on its body.

"Tsk.."

"Fortunately, I didn't use too much force. Or else, this monster will be completely dead."

Diluc was grateful for his choice, and he was going to take this abyss mage back to the city for interrogation.

"Diluc, I didn't expect you of all people to come and rescue me..." Kaeya leaned against another pillar and said with a wry smile.

He was grateful for their help. But he didn't know what to say to Diluc because of their complicated relationship.

"Don't thank me! I'm just here to deal with the abyss mage." Diluc didn't want any thanks.

"If you want to thank someone, Jason is more suitable."

"If he hadn't asked me to hurry up, maybe by the time we got here, you'd already be a frozen corpse." Diluc simply transferred the credit to Jason.

"I was thinking what if just in case you encounter a cryo abyss mage..."

Jason lightly replied, "But Kaeya, I didn't expect you to be so unfortunate haha... You met an abyss mage with the same attribute."

"Well, I was ambushed by it."

Kaeya then thankfully said, "Anyway, I have written down this favor from Boss Jason."

After he finished speaking, he pointed to a shrine at the innermost part of the hall.

The crystallization of the dragon's breath was not destroyed yet.

"After being ambushed, I deliberately protected this crystallized stone. So that someone can come and rescue me after seeing the ongoing storm in the city."

"But it seems unnecessary now..."

After saying this, Kaeya slashed at the crystallized stone and destroyed it.

In this way, Wolf of the North's temple was successfully cleaned up.

"It's great that you can think so calmly in such a situation..." Diluc glanced at him and praised him lightly.

In times of crisis, people often try to save themselves rashly.

It can be seen that Kaeya is indeed quite clever.

"Hehe, can I think of your praise as sarcasm?" Kaeya laughed at himself.

Jason was on the other side.

The two of them supported Kaeya to stand up.

Diluc also dragged the fainted abyss mage in his other hand.

Then, they left Wolf of the North's Temple and headed back to the city.

"I'm worried about Lisa. Don't know what's going on with her?" On the way, Kaeya looked in the southern direction and muttered.

"Lisa? If it's her, you don't need to worry!" Jason shook his head in dismissal.

According to his system, Kaeya's level is lv10.

And Lisa is Lv18.

She's one of the strongest members of the Knights of Favonius.

In comparison, Jean's level is only lv15.

The only person on the same level as Lisa is Diluc.

Both of them hide their true strengths from the public.

And Lisa's electro element is quite powerful and domineering. So, there is no need to worry about her safety.

Diluc also agreed with Jason about Lisa. "If it is that woman, she can become the most powerful and reliable member of the knights anytime if she want."

"Both of you acknowledge and approve of Lisa's strength!?" Kaeya was surprised after hearing this.

Jason is quite familiar with Lisa, so it is not difficult to get his approval.

But, he didn't think Lisa would also get Diluc's approval because Diluc mainly approves of someone with similar strength as him.

For example, in Diluc's eyes, Jean is a typical workaholic that drags everyone back. He didn't like her way of doing everything personally.

Jason gets along with Jean quite well.

But Kaeya thinks that Jason is greedy for her beauty, and it looks like he is about to succeed.

"People who are seriously injured should stop worrying about others." Diluc reprimanded Kaeya.

When the three returned to the vicinity of Mondstadt, they could no longer feel the frantic wind currents from before.

"The elemental flow and the circulation of the leylines have become normal. It looks like Lisa also succeeded in handing the situation at the southern temple." Kaeya also realized that his previous worries were indeed unnecessary.

"Jason, this guy is handed over to you."

Diluc simply threw Kaeya away, carried the abyss mage, and disappeared into the darkness.

There are still some threats around the city.

So, he can't go straight to the city's main gate.

If he did so, he would face endless interrogation by the Knights of Favonius.

So, he took another way to escape from such hassle.

"This guy..."

Kaeya smiled bitterly after seeing this and said, "Then excuse me, Boss Jason."

"We are here, no trouble whatsoever." Jason replied.

Kaeya was about to move his body when he saw Jason waving at the city gate.

One of the knights who was guarding the city gate came over.

"Captain Kaeya!"

"Boss Jason!"

After seeing them, Lawrence saluted in a standard posture, "Why..."

"Here, your cavalry captain is injured. You should take care of him."

Jason interrupted him and simply pushed Kaeya towards Lawrence, "You should send Kaeya back to the headquarter to recuperate."

After he finished speaking, he simply walked toward the city.

"This..." Kaeya was speechless.

"It turns out [We are here] means this..."

There was a faint feeling of being disliked by Jason.

After Jason entered the city gate, he found that the lights in the city were already lit.

The Knights of Favonius maintained order, and people could be seen everywhere cleaning up their surroundings.

Jason headed back to Good Hunter restaurant and found a sneaky figure nearby poking her head out.

The sneaky figure was wearing a wide witch hat flickering with the wind.
