Chapter I

A wide river flowed endlessly, on one side of the river laid a mountain range which stretched far into the distance, within its bosom resides the monstrous hordes of demonic beasts that made the mountain range their home.

On the other side was a vast plain where a mighty city stood. The city was located on the edge of the Paradis Province of the Solaire Kingdom, it was named, Vermillion City

The city's position was located on the border of the Kingdom, which resulted in various conflicts and reclamation skirmishes by various kingdoms. During the last few years, the city was under the rule of the Sanchez Family, a powerful noble family associated with the Solaire Kingdom, but even their presence isn't enough to protect the City from raiders from other noble families.

Nevertheless, the people are happy and contented with their lives, having entrusted their protection to the Archon, Liwayway [1]

Vermillion City, Golden Haven Pavillion

The sun's mighty gaze illuminated the present fieldworkers, sounds of cattle could be heard from a vacant field within the Golden Haven Pavillion. A group of workers gathered by the commission board, their eyes were fixated on the various commissions

Amongst the workers was a youth earnestly eyeing the commission called "Lumiose Flower Gathering".

He seemed to be fifteen to sixteen years of age, his clothes were plain and simple, the exposure to the sun's vicious ray had turned his skin slightly dark. His body was covered in beads of sweat, mud, and dirt, but even so, he was handsome.

The young lad's name was Frey, from the Cairne Village, located near the Hainge's Mountain range. He was the only youth who was hired by the Golden Haven Pavillion, as he is very exceptional at fieldwork and a hard worker.

His family was poor, thus, he would make the most out of every opportunity given by his archon, Liwayway.

"Come on Frey, that's a job for women, you should have opted for hunting monsters with us.

Frey's face turned ripe, the worker group approximately have 25 members and most of them chose to hunt demon beasts, while four including himself, chose the herb gathering.

"That's simply wrong Lukas,"

It was Sonny, a man in his mid 30's. He had a bulky physique, similar to that of a colossal beast. His arms were thick and covered with scars. Sonny was a member of the Pavilion's Demon Hunters, they were forefront in the defense of the Vermillion City from the demon beasts.

Lukas who ridiculed Frey immediately shit his mouth and lowered his head. He idolized Sonny more than anyone in the group, he understood what Sonny meant, a person's occupation doesn't equate to his/her strength.

Frey couldn't help but smile,"After picking the commission for the day, you are to report to your respective handlers." Sonny informed the others "Let's go, everyone."

Frey and the herb picking company made their way to their handler's

"It's going to be a long day" he muttered to himself.
